I liked the last two rb's that played (#6 Martin and  #21 Dauphin) they have the first step you need, kinda reminds me of Holmes. The two  ofensive gaurds had horrible games. I'm pleased with the offense for now. They just need keep imporving each week.

I'll take Jenkins over Toney Brown.Brown may be a little over rated
He doesn't want to tackle, and the pick he had was an over thrown ball Romar could have picked off.

Montgomery survived their first two games and did much better than expected. Based on the rest of the district's performance, they could very well be the favorites to win district. We'll see how it goes though.
Much respect for Montgomery. Y'all probably had the toughest 1st 2 games of anyone! Hope the kids there aren't too beat up after playing such physical teams. Will definitely help them when playoff time comes around.

I think the Pirates are on track but BC did show where we need work.  Our offense looked great, averaging over 9 yds per carry, but defensively our secondary had some holes in it and we sure didnt tackle very well this past week.  Clear Brook will be a real test to see if we can tackle better.  I know we didnt even attempt a pass Friday night, but I didnt expect us to show some of the wrinkles that are being worked on, at least until district play rolls around.  Overall, I like the team that we have and those kids are progressing.  Lets see how we do against a 5A opponent.

We have some work to do on both sides of the ball. Going to have to get these injuries resolved. As far as Tony Brown, Tony caught the eyes of who he needed to and will capitalize on whichever opportunity he takes. Tony as well as the rest of the team have room for improvement.

Brown seems to be a good prospect.

For the Trojans our offensive line needs to get better and get in shape.  We have to eliminate turning the ball over.  The defense looked pretty good, but u could tell we really missed #3.  We got to do a better job of tackling also.  I know the loss hurts, but hopefully this will wake the kids up to practice harder this week because the schedule doesn't get any easier with #1 La Marque this week.

BH has looked good in its first two games against lesser competition. The BH offense needs to develope that 2nd goto back as only 1 and the QB are carrying the offfense right now. Defense is looking better than i expected since we lost a lost on D, but they have been doing a great job. Overall I think they are playing at midseason form right now which will only get better.

So far JASPER has beaten the teams we are supposed to. We haven't had a real challenge yet, though. The verdict is still out. But, I am cautiously optimistic. WO-S and Carthage (although the latter has somewhat struggled out the gate) will be the measuring sticks.

We played AWESOME!............. for 2 1/2 quarters [out of 8].  Too bad they weren't at the right times.  :o
We still need LOTS of work,  but only on throwing, catching, running, tackling and pass protection.  Yeah,  I think that just about covers it.
Funny stuff.  ;D

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
