I think Kirbyville will be stronger and will give all the 2a teams problems. the numbers game favors the Wildcats and this is 2a football. remember their  last two years in 2a football that they played for state championship. jmho

I could fix some mail boxes up & have some Newton folks transfer if need be.  ;)

I attended the Kirbyville playoff game last year and also watched the JV and Varsity play against Newton last year. Kirbyville should be better than last year, but still a long way to go to compete even in 2A. The 2A district they have been included in has several teams that should give Kirbyville all they want and maybe a little more. Just my opinion. Welcome back to 2A! ;)

You are correct on the last two years..But that was the most talented team Kirbyville has put on the field...I'm a dyed in the wool Wildcat Fan,Have been for years...Newton & EC will be the top guns,Woodville could be trouble ...This is the toughest 2A district in the State...If it's not it won't miss it far...Hope the best for the Cat's,But I'm also a realist,I can see them in a possible 3rd place finish,But that will depend on what Woodville does..JMO it's High School Football and lot's of things can happen...

Toughest 2A in the state? How? District 1, 8, 9 and 13 are all tougher districts.

EC, Woodville, and Newton will be loaded again this year. Its gonna be tough for Kville. And yes, they have a good recent history in 2a. But this is not even close to the talent of those two teams. Should be a good race. Good luck to all teams.

yes it will be tough, but not just for the Kats.... some may be surprised.... :o

Kirbyville may be ready to play, but I didn't see a lot of talent to play last year. The JV and the varsity had kids wanting to play and that's good, but to stay competitive there's got to be a certain amount of talent mixed with the want. Kirbyville has a lot fewer talented players to put on the field than in years past. This in no way means they are gonna lay down and be a door mat and I'm not saying they will. As the year progresses I'm sure the coaching staff will have them playing better and better, but where they'll wind up in district I think is still middle of the pack. Good luck to the Cats and their fans on reentering the 2A ranks. Have a good year and prove me wrong!

It should be a great race. IMO any of the top foue teams has a shot. Those teams being Newton, EC, Woodville, and Kville. For now im giving the playoff spots to Newton, EC, and Woodville. Kville will have to prove themselves this year.

D13, IMO, will be the toughest.  I know this is a SE Texas board, but if you know anything about the teams in this district, it will be a tough road.

I think Kirbyville should be a playoff team in 2012.  I think your two favorites are still going to be Newton & EC but im pretty confident they could finish at least 3rd.  It depends on what the likes of Woodville & Anahuac lose/return?  What will Newton & EC look like in 2012?

    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!

    • Come on dude, don’t take anything away from the kids on the field. If you want to talk uncharacteristic, we made what 3 or 4 errors in game one. Y’all had 2 EARNED runs.  Defense is normally our strong suit. Your ace didn’t strike out a single one of our kids. Like I said also, you did not out hit us in game 1. Hell you barley out hit us in game 2. We had all the uncharacteristic walks. Josh pitched a hell of a game is what made that game what it was.
