Hull-Daisetta vs Tarkington/Who wins?

Recommended Posts

H-D's offense looked great against Crossroads, putting up 53 points. H-D's defense will get better. I would like to see H-D mix up their pass defense. Also would love to see #73 and #66 play on the offensive line. Very excited about the physical play of #9 on defense for H-D, kid had some big hits and QB pressures. Film will show alot for H-D.

I'm gonna say H-D wins by 2 scores as the bobcats show some life and get into mid-season form after a slow start.
I dunno about the 1A vs. 3A thing, though. If u schedule a school to play in pre-district, u can't really use the size if the school as an excuse or crutch. Almost puts the larger team in a lose/lose perspective. Tarkington vs. HD is usually a good, physical game and is rarely a bad mismatch.
Good luck to both teams!! See you in district, Cats!!
(and in the WH-HD ex's game)    ;D
Like I said 28-6 last year. Bad mismatch, especially if your a 3A.

True, HD55. I agree if you're on the outside looking in, it looks bad. But 3A doesn't necessarily mean more competitive than 1A. On paper it appears that way by sheer numbers. But as we all know, when u throw into the mix the atleticism of individuals, overall tradition and the level of your schools football program, there are many exceptions to the rules on both ends of the spectrum.
I honestly believe that Tarkington, Huntington, Porter perhaps and even Splendora would have a hard time making the playoffs in HD's district. Its just a down year for those guys, and the top 3 or 4 teams in our 1A district would be able to play with those guys.
(please don't take this the wrong way, I'm not downing you guy's schools in any way)

Tarkington isn't very good at all this year, if HD can't beat them even though they are 3A you can throw your chances of getting past the first round out the window, HD's offense was as sloppy as Tarkington's against Hardin, but HD has Chisholm and Tarkington doesn't have a player that good so I say Tarkington wins.
Just a very good high school player on both sides of the ball they want the ball in his hands at all times and he is probably their best defensive player as well plays very fast.

Nothing too special, just very fast and in 1A that will get the job done, Tarkington is 3A but they have no speed so he should be able to carry them through this game

Not this year. Liberty looking really good so far.  But last year, I certainly don't see why not.  Definitely would have been competitive with them.

    • What the writer stated wrt crossover votes in the primary/runoff: "Covey and his supporters Paxton and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said Phelan only won because Democrats crossed over to vote in the Republican Primary for him. Paxton said Covey’s campaign identified “at least” 1,442 Democrats who voted early in Jefferson County in the primary runoff. Texas does not have party registration, but a voter’s primary voting history is public. The Covey campaign has not released its methodology behind its claim, but  This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up  by The Texan news website found that 9% of Republican voters in the March District 21 primary had voted in one of the previous four Democratic primaries. However, only 5% of that group had voted in all four previous Democratic primaries. What Phelan’s opponents did not mention is historically Democratic Jefferson County is undergoing a political transition towards the Republican party — the county judge switched his affiliation to the GOP in 2017 — so many residents have a mixed primary voting history. And Phelan’s allies in the House dismissed the idea that liberals swung the election. "I knocked on doors, hundreds and hundreds of doors, made calls for Dade,” Republican Rep. Jeff Leach, R-Plano, said on Mark Davis’ radio program Wednesday. “I did not speak to a single Democrat down here in HD21. Not a single one." "
