1. Dang it Joharr!!!!  Get em fired up, man!!!  Go oilers!!!
2. I think the favorites would bounce back and forth through the classifications. The smaller schools in west Texas are tough!  But our 3 & 4A elite can match up with anyone IMO.
3. I suppose it's settled then lol. I'm just a fan expressing my opinion on the subject..  No need to "slow down" because my insight doesn't amount to anything when it comes down to the decision making of whether the game will or won't be beneficial.  ;)
4. How's that district looking, Joharr?  Which one would we rather face first round? ..I sure hate it going into the playoffs off a bye.  Wish we could play the Cleveland JV or somebody this week.  Just to get varsity a few reps and let the rest of the team besides the starters get some work.
5. I agree totally!  I'm pretty sure it'd be lopsided but it's a game!  The Cleveland guys want to play I'm sure, and WH doesn't need to go into the playoffs flat off a bye week.  I think the varsity would get some first half playing time and the jv kids would be able to get a lot of playing too!  It's a win/win situation!
6. Agreed! Lol. A 50-burger is a common sandwich served every Friday night in the high school Football cafeteria and unless you're airing it out and running trick plays trying to increase the lead, it shouldn't matter what personnel is on the field. So I find it a bit offensive incenuating WH has no class because they were guarding a 43-0 lead with starters and well over a quarter left.  Heck, coldspring is a class act and they'll hang 70 on ya in a heart beat.  Nobody ever accuses them of being bad sportsmans because they don't pull their starters after the first 2 series.
7.

West Hardin was winning 43-0 with 3:00 left in 3rd & Colmesneil's RB got taken off the field by EMT's.  Colmesneil decided to call the game to keep anyone else from getting injured.  West Hardin had already started making the JV group ready to take the field after their RB was taken off the field. That's as plain as I can make it.
43 to 0 and the end of the 3 Qr and they were just getting the JV ready to take the field >:( >:( What were they waiting on 50 to 0 :( :(
Class?  Are you kidding me!?!?  60 points, maybe? 70, that's bad? 80 on purpose is classless.. But 43-0 is a solid victory. Nothing nasty about that. It's not like they were airing it out, throwing 50 yard bombs at that point. Just making first downs, clicking and breaking free on some runs. A 20 point cushion is not safe. Not in any game of football at any level past pee-wee. That's a "Gary Kubiak" mentality and it will get you beat. A killer instinct is needed for success, and 43-0 is not unclassy in any way!  Like I said, it's not like they hung 80 on them. That being said, let's all keep the Bulldog RB in our prayers and hope he has a speedy recovery. I hate to hear about a team Forfeiting and players walking off the field.  Hope it all gets better for colmesneil. I remember playing a bunch of great, competitive kids every time we matched up Against them. Would love to see their program get back to where it once was.
8. This sounds like the Lovelady/WH game in reverse.  West hardin probably has the better team this year and should win by a few scores, but I think HD is playing terribly and will look back on this one thinking "wow.. That should've been closer!".  Keep your heads up guys! We know how ya feel. On the other hand, great job Oilers!!  Way to keep the heat on until the game is well in hand!!
9. Man I hate to hear that. Hope he's ok and gets to come back into the game. Love to see a great ball game but hate to see kids get injured.
10. After an impressive 6-0 start, where West Hardin blew through the competition, the then red-hot Oilers went into district coming off a bye week, found themselves staring at a loaded gun in Lovelady. The lions more outplayed than outmatched the Oilers. The end of the first quarter showed a score that would rival most lopsided blowouts, as Lovelady jumped out front and never looked back while West Hardin unraveled. This week, facing a team that has given West Hardin fits (West Sabine), they hoped to get back onto track, but after playing a much better game, the Oilers found themselves on the little end of the scoreboard once again. Now 6-2, the fate of Saratoga's playoff dreams lies just down the road apiece in Daisetta, where they will face their rivals out of Liberty county next Friday...  The Bobcats started the season slow but have since came on strong. Weeks ago this game would have been tallied up as a laugher before the players ever set foot on the field, but now the stakes are high as the door to the playoffs more than likely ends for one of these teams.  It's a grudge match and all bets are off.  I'd expect nothing more than an intense, no holds barred dog/cat fight. See ya Friday, HD.
11. Joharr is right.. West Hardin looked awful last week. If that same team comes out to play this Friday, West Sabine will have a track meet and break the scoreboard on the Oilers. ..but nows the time we see if West Hardin has heart. They came out last week, got a bloody nose, and stayed on their heels all night. Coming back this week to redeem themselves, the Oilers need to suck it up and play like they have been the first 5 games of the season. Keep In mind the Oilers have only one loss, so they're capable of winning... They just have to realize this also. Depending on which West Hardin team comes out, will dictate the outcome.  If they lay down, I don't even wanna predict how bad Pineland will beat them.  If they come out with their minds right, West Hardin will give Pineland all they can handle, and come out on top in a dogfight. This game is for 2nd place in the district, because it is my firm belief that no one touches Lovelady until the playoffs. Good luck to both teams!!!
12. Simply awful. WestHardin looks to be jogging all over the field. No intensity.  Don't know how much of this I can hang around and stomach.
13. 3minutes 18 seconds into the game, 26 points on the board and 2 West Hardin turnovers.  Playing from a 14 point hole, West Hardin has to keep their heads up and get after them!
14. U in the yellow hat, joharr?    I'm right behind you on the fence. Big guy. Grey shirt. ...they gotta pick it up
15. The Hornets aren't as potent as they were last year and EC is still soaring after their impressive win last week. Hope the upset-minded Hornets play hard and fight to the end, but I feel like East Chambers puts it away early and coasts. Good luck to both teams!! E. C.    45 Hardin    8
16. Lions & Tigers & Bobcats oh my!  ..The Oilers brought down the king, do the others dare try?
17. Sounds like a class act!  It's great to hear about a kid with such an amazing attitude it's inspirational and motivational to both team mates and people watching. The bright side of tasting success then being humbled by defeat is that it teaches you humility. Itll bring character and teach many lessons. Keep your head up Kirbyville!  Sounds like a great bunch of kids with a lot of heart! Have fun and make some memories, guys! Good luck and God Speed for the remainder of the season.
18. I'd like to see Deweyville pull this one out, but SA has played pretty competitively against ranked teams. If the pirates pull this one out or keep it close, I will be surprised. Swami Sez: San Augustine  34 Deweyville.      13 Good luck to both teams!!!
19. Lovelady is playing some tough teams this year and beating them handily. West Hardin will have their hands full to say the least. This is a game that could be lopsided either way due to turnovers or busted plays and if WH doesn't show up ready, the Lions will roll. I'm pulling for the Oilers, though, and hope they head into Lovelady prepared. I'm feeling optimistic and thinking with the extra week off to prepare and rest, West Hardin will come out firing on all cylinders and pull out of the most exciting matchup of this district race with their perfect record intact.. WH          33 Lovelady  21
20. Dang it. :( Oh well, although it would be exciting to watch them play deweyville, they are probably doing the right thing and letting some guys heal before they start the district race.  Now I gotta figure out what game to go to Friday night. Lol Wishing High Island the best. Hoping everything gets better over there.
21. I hope it's a hard fought battle. I'm gonna take Newton in this one by three TD's.  If it's a good game, I might jump over from High Island at the half.
