1.
I agree bambam  cleveland put no pressure on the QB. BUt CS will. I didn't say Huffman wasn't in shape or a great team.  Have Huffmans D played a team that will make them stay on the field most of the game ? Your D will not stop CS offense. So this week they sould go thru a lil more conditioning as they will need it come friday.  Clevelands D would wait until your recievers caught the ball before they did anything Come friday all those "open recievers" will not be so open. Can and will Townley scramble for yards ? How he handle the pressure and his decisions will effect if Huffman is stay in this game. I feel he will have to use his legs more than his arm come friday night. JMO !!
He has a cannon, can chunk the ball deep, not very accurate at all, but if you drop back and only rush 3 guys (Liberty) then he becomes accurate. All CS has to do is put pressure on him (which they will) and he will make mistake after mistake (Kpark) and they will lose the football game, Liberty moved the ball fairly well against Huffman but mad a few mistakes here and there and got stopped 1 key time, if Liberty moved the ball, Coldspring will MOVE THE BALL, straight into the endzone at least 6 times.

But after reading all the post from SOME Huffman and Some Liberty fans that get on hear and talk crap. I hope Coldspring hangs 60 + on both teams. What most people don't realize is even tho most of their sorces (cs) are blow outs their first stream sits out most of the 2 nd half.  Thats defense and offense. Even tho they are a small 3A team they have talent from varsity all the way down to 7th grade.
Ehh nothing wrong with talking alittle trash as long as your man enough to take your beatting when your wrong.  Just be smart about what you say.
Well the way I see it, Coldspring is going to kick the crap out of Liberty and Huffman and all the trash talking, comparing of last years stats and any other form of hope is not going to change it, so all you guys can come on here and say what you want to try and give yourselves some kind of false security, but it's not gonna change the fact that Coldspring is going to kick the crap out of yawll,  just saying!
The only trash Huffman is talking is trying to defend the boys from your ignorant posts. You huffman bashers have never seen Huffman play this year so you have not idea. You guys might just be eating crow again like Liberty. Huffman D is more physical and quicker than last year. Huffman QB is better this year than last too. Ask Liberty
LOL, how can you just assume that everyone who was bashing Huffman hasn't seen them play? Haha, Townley is no where close to as good as DeBerry was, last year Huffman beat Liberty 56-7 This year 40-20, DeBerry had 30+ TDs and less than 5 picks, townley has less touchdowns and more picks and will finish the season after the 1st round with less TDs than Cole and more interceptions, he may be good but not better than DeBerry, and your D was better last year, look at your scores compared to last year and the fact that you replaced all state corner Joel Whitwher with some random #88 who looks like a kicker.
this is the same cleveland team that everybody in our district spanked last year.. so i'm not getting your point??
Before last year Cleveland was a consistently good team that was going about 3 rounds deep in playoffs.
you think they're back already? i'm thinking they need a class or two to come up before they'll be good again.
Trust me Utep I watched them play Splendora they can't hang with Liberty.

If you tackle well, you have a chance. If you dont, scores will be like most of the games this season...BLOWOUTS! Huffman will put up some points and it will be up to defense to step up and make plays. CS will bust it for big plays, Huffman just has to keep it to a minimum. I CANT WAIT! This should be a gr8 game.
All there scores are on big plays because there O-Line pancakes the defense and Sherm hits you with that 4.4, they are too physical and too fast for Huffman, get over it you guys just aren't good enough to compete, you beat Liberty big deal, have fun blowing out the rest of the district until CS hangs 60 on you.
SWAG I would like to personally invite you to the game and you can sit with us! Buy you some popcorn! You are probably the most idiotic poster on this board and have absolutely NO CLUE about football. Its a team sport moron and thats what Hufman does well. CS has more athletes than Huffman no doubt about it. Hufman plays well as a unit and play their positions. Whatcha say popcorn and a coke??????? Idiot!Man get your panties out of a wad, Liberty has a game this week they can win!
Cool. Coldspring is still better and will still destroy Huffman, they didn't have a passing game when they played for a STATE CHAMPIONSHIP why would they need one now?

 7.
Everyone in the district knows Coldsprings is good....and hopefully will win state this year. Think it's sad that they feel the need to run down all the other teams in the 22-3A district like the kids don't work hard and play hard. It's very easy to be so critical of others when you are on the top but everyone knows that eventually everyone falls. Think they are a great team and would like them and thier supporters to make the 22-3 A district proud by being leaders and remembering that it's never fun to work your butt off and lose. Good luck to Coldspring Friday night and all those that follow.
CS isn't near as bad as Huffman about talking down on the other teams of the district. Let's hope CS puts the same beating on Huffman as they do everyone else. And I don't believe they will win state.

What a great guy and very knowledgable about football.... Athletic ability does account for something.... Let's end this post out of respect for the kids and a great guy that are trying to build a program.
Why end the thread? We did we say that was wrong?
I guess we made the mistake of observing and stating what was so obvious that it should not have been observed or stated, in other words we were not polite or politically correct, a trait that I've noticed many SETX posters lack  :o, I guess I'm in the wrong place  :-[.
Everyone know Tarkington isn't very good. It's obvious that Huffman will win this game. The sarcasm and arrogance expressed from the Huffman fan base is ridiculous. You beat Liberty now you want to act like you've got a spot in the state championship waiting on you. Of course your going to beat Tarkington why talk about it? Coldspring will destroy Huffman and Silsbee will take yall out of the first round, enjoy the fun of beating Tarkington, Shepperd and possibly Cleveland (maybe not) because that's all you'll have to hold on to this season. Let's also remember you are talking about 16 and 17 year old kids, why come on here and talk about how your going to beat a team of kids who aren't very good at all. Liberty beat Hardin 49-0, Hardin beat Tarkington and Huffman beat Liberty, why would you even ask what people thought.
 9.
Until Liberty proves it can compete with the best teams in their district year in and year out I'm going to go with Huffman...Not saying Liberty can't or won't beat Huffman...Just saying they need to show me... ;)
The all time win/loss record of liberty/huffman is 17-2 in favor of Liberty, so as far as district play goes how has Huffman showed you they can even beat Liberty? They beat them last year, that's one year. From 1990-2005 Liberty DOMINATED Huffman it was never even close, then Huffman grabs a win in 08 and in 2010, and now Liberty can't compete with them?
 10. Last year Gray, this year JJ, Gray plays RB and is a receiving RB and JJ is a receiver, but has more receiving yards, more rushing yards on less attempts and more touchdowns than Gray.
 11. The BEAUMONTenterprise favors BEAUMONT Kelly in this article a little too much, it wasn't just the fumbles. The only reason Kelly was able to put up those points was poor special teams play by Liberty, after halftime they fixed their mistakes which slowed Kelly's offensive production.
 12. The only reason I am excited to see this game, is for the one play that Nick Barber breaks free and Liberty's Dionte Robinson runs him down in open field. ;D

Kelly returns 18 starters from last year tops in the area. Kelly has played the tougher schedule by far as well. Liberty returns only 5 starters from a defense that gave up 300 passing yards in the first half last year and led to Dakota Eddins winning the Built Ford Tough player of the week. Typical, that someone who has no idea what he is talking about to get on here with no reasoning what so ever. That being said Kelly still has to improve on the offensive side of the ball and cut down on turnovers. Kelly played extremely well on Defense against Bridge City and look for that to continue. Liberty's QB really played well last year even though their was a great number of drops from his receivers. This should be a great game.
If you consider giving up 21 points well then your crazy being that Liberty has given up 7 all year, yes they have had a weak schedule but Porter is a 4A team with a new QB who is commited to a D1 school so they can't be too bad. And who cares about what the secondary did last year? Huntington, and Hardin threw all over them last year and scored a combined 110 points, but this year a combined 0, the defense has improved greatly, the seniors who left the secondary won't be missed.
Liberty hasn't faced anyone on par with Matt Menard, Mark Roberts, and Dishon. Kelly only gave up 20 points to liberty and one of those touchdowns was a pick 6. Another touchdown came after Kelly fumbled the ball on its own 30, so yes the defense played extremely well against a QUALITY opponent. Please don't forget that Kelly scrimmaged Hardin and beat them like a drum as well. Also think it's funny that when mr. undeveloped was provided with facts he backed off his opinion pretty quick. Where were these two monster running backs last year?
ok here is my opinion and why... dennis antoine.. 35 att. for 520yds an 4td's.. jordan jones.. 12 att. for 141 and 4td's.. fregia averages 6+yds a carry and fitz averages 7+ oh, and btw the passing game is the strength.. no one is stopping 6'4" wr mosley in the redzone or on deep balls and jones will torch ya'll again just as he did last year.. and williams is greatly improved from last season.. the d will def. not give up more than 21 to kelly, if that.. they've only given up 7 this year and that td only came because of a late hit penalty at the very end against several 2nd stringers and a few starters.. i know that liberty hasn't played any of the lake travis' of the world and i know that liberty isn't great by far, however holding every team scoreless says a lot..liberty will outscore kelly, period. and the d probably won't pitch another shutout, but i find it hard to believe they'll give up more than 21... ya'll beat em by a score last year and they were terrible..
No one is stopping Mosley? Nick Schrapps is a 6'3 200 lb safety who is a North Texas commit. Who do you think is going to win a jump ball. Also, Brandtley Wilson didnt play last year due to an injury. Can u honestly tell me an all state linebacker wouldn't have made a difference in libertys run game? Once again, where was these kids last year, if they are so good, where are their Div. 1 offers. Please don't be ignorant. Kelly beat Hardin so bad they quit half way thru the scrimmage. I can't wait till Kelly beats liberty
Isn't he a D1 commit for WR though? That doesn't mean he can cover and it's not like he's going to be on Mosley's side all game, and where was Mosley last year? 1 TD against Hardin, 1 TD against Huntington, 1TD against Porter, injured in the first half of Porter for the rest of the year, now this year 5 receptions 3 touchdowns, 1 in each game once again. As far as D1 goes, we have Ryan Melton verbal to Texas State with many other offers and everyone know the QB will go, along with 300 LB DT who just turned 16 last week so he is still young. And if Mosley works at it, the 6ft4 WR will find himself a spot on a D1 team.
 16.
Being from the Liberty/Dayton area and have predicted correct on every game that Ive made predictions on,I predict that Liberty wont win their district and Dayton wont win theirs either. Coldspring and Barbers Hill will win their districts
Coldspring/Liberty and then Dayton, BH won't compete again.
 17.
I agree. Keeping within 30 points of coldsprings is just not something anyone in their district will be able to do. Liberty will likely make a playoff run this year, and they do look much better this year than in previous ones.. But that being said, they haven't played any strong teams yet. They're hanging 40 points every week on teams, but the same teams are being pushed all over the field by local 1A's and 2A's also. (talented small schools, but small schools nonetheless) That being said, I don't know of many local 4A teams that could stay on the field with Coldspring this year.  (I'll probably get blasted for that but it's my opinion) Good luck Trojans. Bring that title back to setx this year!
Dayton would destroy Coldspring and they are in the area and they are 4A so yes there are local 4A teams that can compete.
 18.
Tarkington isn't very good at all this year, if HD can't beat them even though they are 3A you can throw your chances of getting past the first round out the window, HD's offense was as sloppy as Tarkington's against Hardin, but HD has Chisholm and Tarkington doesn't have a player that good so I say Tarkington wins.
I meant Hd lol
 19. 20.
I  think it is great to support your team, but 40-7?  Also have a real difficult time seeing 38-35.  Did you see Kelly's offense last friday.  Unless Kelly makes significant changes to the offense, the only way they are going to beat anyone good is to play good defense and hope they can break some big running plays.
Ya idk about 40-7, but as far as Kelly's offense goes, if they can't win a shootout they won't win this game. Liberty's defense still has to prove themselves against a good team, but the offense is on a roll, it's obvious that they are good, Kelly's defense wont hold them to a 20 point game so if Kelly can't turn around and score some then they won't win.
 21.
We will see how well Liberty's QB holds up after Brandtley Wilson lays the hammer to him a couple of times. Ask Matt Menard how he felt on Saturday. I'll take Kelly 28-7 in this one. Too much heat for Liberty to handle
I'm sure he feels fine considering he won the game. Wilson is good there's no doubt about that, but Fitzwater has taken plenty of shots this season and popped up ready to throw a 60+ yd TD the next play. Brantley Wilson is 6'1 220 and Fitzwater is 6-5 210, he's not the same scrawny quarterback he was last year, he's picking up a few rushing yards here and there as well, he should be fine.
 22. Oh there is NO doubt that he is an electryifying player. I'm just saying when you lose to Coldspring you lose to Coldspring not Sherman Gilbert.
 23.
As long as Sherman Gilbert is breathing Coldspring will run away with that district
The same Sherman Gilbert who sat out the first part of the season, returned to be the SECOND best running back on his team and lose his team the state championship by fumbling? I promise you no one in district 22-3A is scared of this one player.
 24. K, I checked your numbers and I see Cold Deberry, Joel Witwher, Riley Julian and Casey Marting gosh darn all of them are graduating, then I look at Liberty's and see Jordan Jones and Daniel Fitzwater an entire D Line all but 2 linemen a returning RB and a new very talented running back, so what that mean? Liberty is in the same boat as Huffman and as for Cleveland, Huffman's atheletes don't compare to theirs, they just had a bad year.
 25. Huffman is losing their entire offense except for that running back, it is not only going to be a competition for 3rd, but for 2nd as well. Cleveland, despite this horrible season they still have plenty of atheletes and Liberty is returning their all district 1st team QB, their All SETX Sophomore of the year WR Jordan Jones. They are only losing 2 Offensive lineman, and their running back as far as offense is concerned. I say Liberty, Cleveland, and Huffman all have a chance for second, and call me crazy but I think Liberty can compete with Coldsprings this year as well with move-ins addiding to the defense and the running game.
