Just wondered if it is worth the gamble to start a no. 3 or 4 and see how he does then put Wacha in if things get tight...I know what the obvious choice is, I'm just trying to be optimistic in my mind and that would be the best scenario for us.

Excellent idea.

I'm not much of a gambler. I would throw my best at them in Game 2 and then have Johnny Wholestaff ready for Game 3.

Well, that with the hope that the starter didn't get burned before the trouble. All hypothetical, as I said I know the obvious answer, just playing the what-if game. Anyway, I'll retreat into the hole I came out of and wait for football to start. I'll just tryto enjoy the Ags being in Omaha.

You never know when one of your lesser pitchers can outshine one of your aces. I think it is worth the gamble if you don't allow it to get out of hand. Our ace didn't play well.

Yeah that was a strange sequence, I know he was impressive all the way up until the postseason, can't help but wonder if it had anything to do with the draft or What?

Good question Horndawg.  Cal is probably the worst(least qualified) team in the CWS and A&M should be able to handle them with their #3 on the mound.  Although I'm kinda leary after FSU scored 23 on us in game 2 of the Supers.  Stilson's injury really hurts now when we have to win 6 in a row.

It is hard to take a chance against any team with A&M's lack of offense.  I say throw Wacha and then figure out the rest later.

I'd like to see Hales get a shot at some point, but I haven't gotten to follow them like I usually do, so I dunno if he's injured or just not performing.  Eagle, your thoughts/knowledge?

Anybody get the idea Scalp'em likes the SEC! ;D ;) Augie and Childress need to spend a little more time recruiting guys who can hit. UT and A&M are the 2 worst hitting teams in the WS.

Every year people get on here and boast about UT in all sports, I'm just putting out reality checks. Put a UT in a tough conference and they would be like any other top four to five teams in the SEC every year. ;D Just stirring the pot a little ;) I can't say too much since my Tigers were home early this year.

    • What the writer stated wrt crossover votes in the primary/runoff: "Covey and his supporters Paxton and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said Phelan only won because Democrats crossed over to vote in the Republican Primary for him. Paxton said Covey’s campaign identified “at least” 1,442 Democrats who voted early in Jefferson County in the primary runoff. Texas does not have party registration, but a voter’s primary voting history is public. The Covey campaign has not released its methodology behind its claim, but  This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up  by The Texan news website found that 9% of Republican voters in the March District 21 primary had voted in one of the previous four Democratic primaries. However, only 5% of that group had voted in all four previous Democratic primaries. What Phelan’s opponents did not mention is historically Democratic Jefferson County is undergoing a political transition towards the Republican party — the county judge switched his affiliation to the GOP in 2017 — so many residents have a mixed primary voting history. And Phelan’s allies in the House dismissed the idea that liberals swung the election. "I knocked on doors, hundreds and hundreds of doors, made calls for Dade,” Republican Rep. Jeff Leach, R-Plano, said on Mark Davis’ radio program Wednesday. “I did not speak to a single Democrat down here in HD21. Not a single one." "
