Top 25 Players in SETx

With all due respect, any top 10 list is not complete without Kelvin Smith's name...the kid has had a tremendous year and is probably closer to top 2 or 3...there have been many games this year where opposing teams simply had no answer for him and he has been a tremendous shot blocker as well.

You said this year but what about consistency over his or her career. Im going with Stallworth as number 1. Has he signed with anyone yet?

Kelvin Smith and Chris Cunningham are the best on Nederland's Team followed by Forney.  They all are better than half of who you listed.
I completely agree!

I can't put out a list of twenty five, but I can throw out a 1st team, 2nd team, 3rd team scenario.  I'll do it with five on a team the way it should be done, rather than an all-district team of 30 guys.

1st Team SETX:
PG Earl Bray, Port Arthur Memorial
SG Brennan Doty, PNG
SF Chris Cunningham, Nederland
PF DC Stallworth, Silsbee
C Kelvin Smith, Nederland

Everyone in this group is not necessarily in position, but I think these are the best five in the area.

Second Team:
PG Garrett Gustaffson, HJ
SG David Green, Ozen
SF Hunter Gonzales, LCM
PF Shawn Prudhomme, HJ
C Dionte Forney, Nederland

Third Team:
PG Kelton Gaines, Silsbee
SG #2 Livingston.  I want to say Jacory Thomas, but that could be way off.
SF Kristin Smith, Central
PF Prentice Lane, Silsbee
C Jeffrey Ieans, Ozen

There should probably be one or two from West Brook on this list and maybe another from PA, but I just haven't seen much 5A basketball this season.  Sorry in advance.  A few guys are a bit out of position, but I tried to take what I thought were the best five and put them together and then do the same with the second and third teams.  HJ guys, I know you will say Prudhomme will be higher, but I don't think he's there yet.  With that said, everyone ahead of him is a senior.  Flame away!

Tru Blue are you serious? Stallworth is better than anyone from you school in the past 12 yrs! Your a joke with that statement!
If your the best PLAYER IN ALL SETX... you should be able to win one playoff game... Maybe he is just as good as any other player..On that night the other guy was just better. He put up 19 and 12 , and the other guy put up26 and 14. Maybe he had a off night, just at the wrong time.
ONE MAN WILL NOT BEAT A TEAM OF FIVE IN THE PLAYOFFS SORRY EVERY WEAR HE WENT HE HAD A GUY FOLLOWING HIM IS WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE FROM THE STANDS... LOOKED LIKE TO ME THAT THE COACH DID A VERY GOOD JOB OF SCOUTING THE YOUNG MAN... AND IM STICKING WITH MY STATEMENT KNOW ONE MAN WILL BEAT A TEAM SINGLE HANDLY BU HIMSELF IN THE PLAYOFFS..

In the format that you have it with by positions this is very good..........however I would argue the fact that Shawn Prudhomme is in the Top 5 of SE Texas.  DC is the best without question, but Shawn should be in the top 5 for sure!!!!!

Forney isn't even close to being the best player on Nederland. There is another big guy for Ned that's better then him and several PG or PF that are better.

IMO

1.)  DC Stallworth
2.)  Kelvin Smith
3.)  Earl Bray
4.)  Garret Gustafsen
5.)  Chris Cunningham
6.)  Shawn Prudhomme
7.)  David Green
8.)  Kristian Smith
9.)  Prentice Lane
10.) Dionte Forney
I like this list as well, but I prefer Cunningham over Smith. I truely believe Cunningham is Ned's best player. Prudhomme is the better player than Gus, but I really like Garrett's leadership on the floor.

I find it odd that so many people are putting Gus in front of Prudhomme from HJ.  Both are very good and deserving of the recognition.  HJ relies on both of them so much!!!
Definitely, Gus is a very good point guard, gives all he has and then some but Sean is the better all around player out of the two.p

Wonder where the guy is who said 1 year ago that Gus would lead the district in Turnovers?

    • Spot on, I said this tactic would be used again, and it will, has nothing to do with Donald Trump. That's why the "cakewalk" claims are ridiculous, no such thing for a Republican candidate anymore.
    • He screwed himself when he started blowing up planes, government buildings and killing judges.  Becoming a politician is not what did him in. And the DEA was a big part of what ended his reign and it had nothing to do with politics, wasn't swaying the conversation at all, just pointing out facts.
    • I still can't believe SETX Lamar and SFA thought they would ever fit in the WAC. The logistics are incredibly bad. Couldn't they see that?
    • This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up This is a tragic day for America. The guilty verdict issued hours ago against former President Donald Trump is a clear abuse of our justice system. This politically motivated and stacked trial is what we have come to expect in communist China or North Korea—not in the United States of America.   The totalitarian impulse of the neo-Marxist Left is to suppress and silence political opposition using any means necessary.    But here’s what we must understand: What just happened is not only about Donald Trump, and it will not stop with him.   The Left is not only waging legal warfare against Donald Trump. They are attempting to prevent half the country from having any say in the governance of our nation, and they have weaponized the legal system to ensure their success at any cost.    They are already using our legal system to go after pro-life activists and patriotic Christians who defend religious liberty. The Deep State is spying on conservative parents and churches, treating them like enemies of the state. They have even gone so far as to compare caring parents to terrorists.    The Left has repeatedly contested that conservatives are a threat to our democracy. Yet, they are the ones who are aggressively attacking our Constitutional Republic with blatant disregard for our fundamental rights. We cannot remain silent against such explicit tyranny.   Today's verdict is a clarion call for every God-fearing, America-loving Christian and our fellow citizens who believe in faith, family, and freedom to run, walk, or crawl, if necessary, to the polls this November. Gary Bauer, Senior Vice President of Public Policy  James Dobson Family Institute
