1.
Orangefield is 3-1 all time against the Bulldogs and 2-0 at the Dawg House. I expect a good game as well
Really? I didn't know we had only played you all four times. I could have sworn it was more. I guess my mind is going. haha
 2.
Well since you ask. I actually stopped by early one morning last spring to find coaches (both Morgan's included) laying tile in the hallways. I also have seen a PowerPoint with pictures of coaches putting up celing tile, planting shrubs, and sheet rocking walls. But, I'm sure the professionals moved outta the way to let them pose for pictures right?
This will be my last post arguing with you. They did not do that. I was there ALL spring. I was in that field house everyday. But good try. You cant reason with ignorance....so I'm out.
 3. McGallion or Barbay would be a solid hire. Great credentials for both.
 4. That's not true at all and you know it. You're trying to save face, and I understand that. Morgan was given the money way before this spring. Who redid all the flooring in the locker rooms and hallways? Who replaced all the tiles in the ceiling? You have bad information my friend. I suggest you leave this discussion to who are in Jasper and actually have a clue as to what is actually going on. Now go on and play with your friends, honey. Let the adults talk.
 5.

I spoke today to two coaches at Jasper. The interim tag was offered to two coaches before the trainer. (This is why I believe there is a problem with admin, how is there no one on staff that wants it... Just smells fishy to me) I was also told he does not teach. But they both told me he is a great trainer.
Can you prove this stuff? Your handle suggests that you have other interests besides what's really going on in Jasper. I'm not there anymore and don't know from Adam how all of this went down, but it's not right to just throw rumors out there. I agree with Dawgdad92 (no, we're not the same guy). It seems that you have an axe to grind...
Do not worry about Ctowndawg, all of his information has been incorrect and he is getting desperate because everyone knows it. Trainer teaches class all day, sports medicine. Also, interim has not been offered to anyone at the time. And he says that Morgan did not leave because of his coaches having to teach more classes.....also very false.
 6. I never said profit was the sole purpose...But you mean to tell me that the only sport that is actually bringing in a little money didn't get ANY of the money allotted to the athletic department? You all are crazy. Seriously. Answer this Ctowndawg where did the football team get the money for new Adidas top of the line jersey, new helmets along with all new logos, new cleats, new goal posts for the stadium AND practice fields and all kinds of renovations to the field house (And please don't say the coaches did most of the work because all they did was paint and a few minor fix up. Professionals were brought in to redo the floors and ceilings along with tons of other maintenance work.) So all signs make me believe YOU are in fact the wrong with bad information.

All the coaches at Jasper teach a full load. OC and DC included!
Not true. Coaches have two athletic periods PLUS a conference period. That is not a full load.
By the time you add in what they do after hours, i.e. practices, games, film sessions during the season, it becomes MORE than a full load.  That's part of the commitment for being a high school football coach.
So if "that's part of the commitment" than Morgan should have stayed, correct? He quit because they were going to allow Morgan's assistants only one athletic period as opposed to two, so they could have one more period to be in the classroom to help prepare classes for standardized testing. Thus, if Morgan was really about academics and helping his player pass, he wouldn't have minded giving up one athletic period where coaches just went to the field house, correct? Discuss.

They came to Jasper to work for him. His track record speaks for itself. They saw another Carthage in the making. Why else would so many 5A coaches come to Jasper, Tx! The coaches I know are leaving because they say "this place is screwed up inside," "people here don't want a great program run the RIGHT way!" I'm sure there are some coaches that think they work to hard. They need to ask themselves why the coach high school sports. You'll always be under paid. The staff had to construct the "renovations" to the field house. (not new) they worked on it at 5AM and till all hours of the night. I don't see anything wrong with a little elbow grease, especially on something you will take pride in. I know a few people in jasper. Some are in the field house with Morgan, some in the School system, and some in the community. The same things keep coming up to me... "Morgan was the best coach Jasper ever had" "Great Christian man" "Unbelieveable Football coach" "Cared about every sport just as much as football" "Took great care of female athletics and coaches" "No coaches cussed, no kids cussed, and even, no tabacco! Where else can you find that in East Texas?" It's very obvious to me still that him leaving had nothing to do with teaching loads, money, or imuturity. There has to be to many internal issues. He wanted to do things the right way and some people didnt waty to let him. IMHO!!!! ;D
pirateguy & dawgdad, can I let this be my "response"?  No need in me restating the already stated.  Once again, "IMHO". Thanks ctowndawgfan.  I agree 100%.
You're agreeing with a guy who believes NONE of the $30K given to athletics was used toward football's budget, the biggest and only profitable sport at Jasper.......Really?
 9.
The few coaches I know in Jasper don't feel that way at all. They feel like the admin handcuffed Morgan and the program. One told me, "If I were Morgan I would have left too! You can only beat your head against the wall long enough." he went on to say, "it's hard to go to work everyday with the best intentions for the kids and be shot down all the time with things that can help the kids." he also stressed to me, that money had nothing to do with it. He also said the high school has problems with teachers failing kids with 69's and not working with the student. He also went on to say that on a daily basis students are turned away from teachers tutorials after school!" If that's true(which I believe it is) its sad! And now we know why TEA is in the high school. As for the $30,000. It was well overdue. They were years and years behind. I also heard that none of the 30K was for football. Sounds like he was working hard to help get all sports headed the right direction.
If you seriously think that most, if not all, of that money didn't go to the football program....you sir have lost it. I am quite sure you haven't the slightest idea about Jasper or our football program.

That is a TON of money for a district that is as poor as we are. Also, if he was such a man of great character and "great christian man" why did he just up and leave on a whim? He uprooted all these coaches from around the state and brought them here, on what I can only assume was a dream of building a great program together, to only leave LESS than a year later. Some of these guys have been left out to dry by Morgan, just like the school district. He didn't/ doesn't care about anyone but himself. A lot of coaches are very uncertain about their future right now because of his selfish actions.
 12. Dawgdad, let's see if you get a response from them. The few times I have called out posters, they never seem to reply. BigDawg74 what is your "Humble opinion" on Dawgdad's post?
 13.
Doesn't Coach Alverez have a job at Ennis? Have any of you ever seen the facilities at Ennis? I think getting him back to Jasper is a pipe dream. Why would he leave a school with a football tradition and excellent facilities to return to Jasper where there has been a divided community for years and facilities that are lacking? And by divided I mean football and baseball. Jasper missed the boat last year by not hiring him then. Good luck to whomever they hire. It's gonna be an uphill battle.
Because it is a 4A school with 3A athletes. I believe they won 2 games this year... If you have ever talked to Alverez or seen the way he allows his kids to act on the field, you wouldn't want him. I can specifically remember after they beat Jasper one year three of his players after shaking hands ran across the field over the Bulldog logo and slid in front of the Jasper section...was there discipline after they got in the locker room? I can only assume no because he hugged all three of them once they returned to the sideline. And didn't one year they arrive to a playoff game or games late?

Not employed in district, just like the sports.
THIS. Morgan is young and immature and left when times got hard.
ok, how about all the other coaches that left during the past decade plus?  didn't see any young ones in that bunch.  ultimately, admin is responsible.  if the admin hired an "immature" coach, that is still their responsibility and we deserve an explanation why they did that.  the buck stops with the administration.
I posted this earlier in the thread if you missed it... "Our last 5 coaches were brooks who left for a better job...then we grabbed lauve for 5 years who took us to the state game then left for a 5a job...then Brooks who came back because he missed Jasper so much and bowed out of coaching once his son graduated THEN stayed on with the district...Bickham lets be honest, he was terrible so they nipped him very quickly after two seasons....and now Morgan leaves after a season very abruptly for reasons that are now and possibly forever unknown." Further proving my point that maybe administration isn't to blame. And that it is unwarranted for people, including yourself, to say that you hope they "finally get it right." Of those five coaches only one could be considered "getting it wrong." Please justify you saying in another thread that you hope the administration "finally gets it right."
