It was my pleasure meeting several of the HF faithful tonight.........Mammagotjuice, hfmom, mercedes and Bluedove!!!!  I know for a fact that Little Dove is gonna be a special player.  Hoping that his parents find some property in the HJ area soon!!!! ;D ;D ;D

Hawks just too deep and more seasoned than the Horns.  Great win for the Hawks after they started off the first 6 minutes of the game with 2 points!!!! :o :o :o

I forgot to say more talented also............sorry hfmom08!!!!! ;) ;) ;D ;D
It was a great spirited game...high energy in the building. HJ did a great job and was the better team tonight as the score reflected...despite all of HF's multi-faceted problems. Balls in the basket and solid defense wins games. So I am gonna end this night on the high road...but please know my lip is bleeding cause I am biting it so dang hard. Great seeing all you guys tonight! Prudomme and Bosha did an awesome job tonight.
You know, I gotta admit, I'm beginning to wonder if you guys are right.  There was a lot of talent on the floor tonight and it wasn't all HJ players.  I mentioned it above, but I think the thing that beat ya'll was:
a) fundamentals
and
b) discipline

These are things that are taught..........

Way to go hawks!!!!! Congrats to the freshman ( Bosha) for his 21 pt game. Who was the trash talker referring to this summer with team Sneed?  Do you still want to talk? Or did he show you better than I can tell you?
??? Bosha played a great game. I shook his hand and told him so. Look, I tried to recruit Bosha to HF.  ;D But even you should admit Donte Smith held him down in the game. Bosha stated driving and scoring when the HF coach decided to put our "select" players to guard him.
Yeah I know, many feel we're just a bunch of whining parents at HF. I use to think it was the parents whining and lack of talent.  Now that I see it for myself, I feel the frustration now and have to admit the parents have some valid concerns. But, the coach is the leader and the kids are still suppose to hustle, rebound and dive for loose balls. Those things they (the players) have control of to offset those other variables that are setting them back.

Silsbee better try and contain Prudhomme and Bosha again next game. How has the Sutherland kid played in the past few games? Haven't heard much about him since he hit 11 three pointers.
Didn't score much but it really didn't matter. They have enough firepower from other players.

I think HJ does very well distributing the ball. While they have several players that can score 30 points on any given night that is not the priority the players set for themselves. They will do whatever it takes to win, and that may be score 25 one night and then only shoot 3 times the next. No real big ego's where players will take stupid shots just to meet a point quota.

Have to agree with Dove. Bosha had a nice game, but don't grandize it. Most of his points were in mop up time. Gustafson and Prudhomme are the ones that killed us and Southerland is like a coach on the floor. Bosha made his line look good at the end, but he was HJ's 3rd or 4th best player last night. He is going to be a good one, but it's not his team yet.

Come on TD. It was a 25 point lead in the 2nd quarter. Just at what time do you think "MOP UP TIME" started in this game. I saw Bosha take it to your Post and put moves on him that he had no answer for. I can't think of any turnovers he had. I can't think of any defensive problems he had. He played his game within the scheme that HJ runs and that means scoring on whoever is in front of him until the whistle blows. I don't know how you can downplay a freshman that scores 21 points. Sure Gustafson was big as usuall. He has the ability to make alot of opposing guards look like they can't play defense. Same with Prudhomme. But that freshman was steady thru the whole game. Never at anytime during that game did he ever play like a freshman. I agree, it isn't his "team" yet, but if he was at HF it would be. ;D

I know one HJ player that is very upset by the way he played last night.  He said he laid an egg and the harder he tried the worse his game got.  He is a warrior and I look for him to back on game for Tues. night.

    • Sure.  You reassign an employee and they leave voluntarily instead of being fired and being open to litigation.  The outcome is the same, but you are making my point.  The superintendent and AD and principal are all empowered to make personnel decisions.  Instead of accepting the decision made, you talk about lawyering up, no one else was reprimanded, railroad job.  I am old enough to remember when high school sports taught life lessons...accountability being chief among them.
    • I know absolutely nothing about the situation, but I do know head coaches of sports other than the AD have actual teaching assignments, and I know from my wife having worked in the sped department of multiple schools that it’s not uncommon at all for coaches to shirk those duties.  It could very well be that this was the case at BC.  Or not, I don’t know.  Just bringing this up to point out the fact that, although many coaches only want to worry about coaching, they generally have several other responsibilities at the school.  some of them neglect or ignore these duties entirely.  If he’s been written up for other issues before, it’s a dumb argument to say “he was punished for this and others were not”.  If he had a pile of write ups in his file and they did not then it makes sense that the punishments were different.
    • He wasn’t fired, he was reassigned and people get reassigned all the time. If he was actually fired, then you would have a point, but he wasn’t fired. Based on the information presented here no way this would stand if they fired him and he lawyered up.
    • I heard the assistant was going to get this job and assume it was referring to the old Vidor coach, Nate Smith.  I always thought he did more with less at Vidor and can't help but think he shares some responsibility in Vidor's recent success.
    • Classic Bridge City.  Always someone else's fault, refs/umpires cheated, AD with an agenda, yada, yada, yada.  As far as I can tell it's damn near impossible to get fired at these schools so when someone does get fired, it's usually something.  Drama at Bridge City is a constant.  The guy did a good job coaching basketball and I'm sure he'll continue that somewhere else.  Time to move on.
