Dayton has lost three games and won't stand a chance of being state ranked.
It sure does look like Dayton will be paired against Brenham in round 2.
The winner of that game stands an excellent chance of playing in the semi-finals and just by attrition being one of the last eight teams left in division I and II combined.

[/quote]yeah i noticed, but i also noticed only a couple of those teams have played the schedule Dayton has. The pass 2-3 years have been the same way and we are playing for the state championship or we are a game away.

I'm not takin anything away from them they r a great team and can't wait to see their matchup aginst brenham, but based on their performence this year there r teams that deserve the spot more than dayton.

Now a team that does deserve to be in this poll is coldspring. They only have 1 loss to the number 4 team in the state kirbyville.

[/quote]the only lost dayton has to a 4a team is angelton. i think angelton was ranked in the top 10 at the time. now that dayton is playing 4a teams, and not 5a, they're destroying people. we will continue to fly under the radar and beat people by 30 and 40 points until we get the respect we deserve.

Those ranked teams like, Aledo, Brenham, LT & Tivy, have all played 5A teams too.  Difference is, that we beat them and y'all didn't.  We wouldn't be ranked either with 3 loses.  (nobody would). Dayton sounds like they are doing alot better though, so don't worry about rankings.

Dayton doesn't deserve to be in the state rankings.  A case could be made for Houston area 4A rankings.  They are a .500 ball team right now.  Could Dayton beat a lot of the teams on the state top 10 list....I think they could on the right day.  The Broncos will be alright, but the last thing they need to worry about are state rankings.  It would be better for them to worry about getting above .500 this week and take it from there.

[/quote] Doing alot better we were never doing bad in the first place we played a couple of 5a playoff teams that could probably beat most of the teams on the AP list. Stewart isn't worried about an AP popular contest he knew the potential of  his team and set out to forge a team that could possibly make a deep playoff run. I like flying under the radar it just gives us extra motivation when we get to play a high ranked team ! ;) PS Brenhamfan I was just using your post as an example not picking on you  :)
