Bob West & LU Football

I find it very interesting that Bob West has been almost completely (maybe [b]completely[/b]) silent about LU football through the first 3 games, especially with the start the team has.  There must be a story behind that for someone who has covered LU extensively in his career.  Does anyone have any insight on why?  I have a few ideas but no insight.  Just find it curious.

He and Tubbs are big buddies.  Maybe he does not like it that Tubbs is no longer AD.

I agree with TalkCougar.  He was pretty harsh the last 6-7 years Lamar had football in the 80's.  As an example:

I work with Jennie, Bob West's wife and have met Bob on several occasions. I don't doubt he doesn't like to admit being wrong but there are more important things going on with his family than sports.

That is all I'm saying considering it is very personal stuff. He probably isn't going to do write-ups for the football season but he'll probably do basketball as always.

Anyway, Lamar is back and beyond the 80's politics and the southern newspaper.

smith, I agree about what Bob West did and wrote 20 plus years ago. I hadn't met him yet and didn't know Jennie. I can tell you I didn't like him very much at the time.

It's all good.  We're rollin' now.  LU has a heck of a lot to offer now and in the coming years.  Hopefully these programs can feed, recruit, and build off of each other.
