Many posters on this forum sees Lamar as a big joke.
Name one, barring members that are non-Lamar alumni.  Better yet, copy and paste the post that represents your comment.  What you won't accept is that you build up a plan for Lamar in your own mind and then go on pointless rants when LU's leadership doesn't follow your agenda.  Unless you can give us non-anecdotal or non-hearsay information into the reasons behind Lamar's decisions, it's clear that the department understands the situation better than you do.
 2. Thanks for avoiding the question - again.  And for using some comical logic, trekkie.
 3. You have a great self-concept of knowing what it takes to fix Lamar Athletics.  I'm curious . . . what career field do you work in?
 4. LOL do you mean bankrupt and dropping sports in order to meet a continually dwindling budget resulting from fan apathy?
 5. But don't forget, back when the return of LU football was announced, a certain faction of this board felt that the best fit for success would be to fill the roster with predominantly local talent and fill the coaching slots with successful high school coaches from the golden triangle.
 6.
Sabine and I are like 2 little chick-a-dees fighting over a worm. cheep cheep cheep my worm.
I don't understand why you would bring the word 'fighting' into the discussion.  All I've ever done is point out your inconsistencies and call you out on failing to report any sources for your 'inside information' that you obtained from various message boards. If anything I would compare it as one chickadee chirping about knowing where all the big worms are at but never showing any evidence, never revealing the location, and changing the subject whenever challenged.

[Hidden Content]
Dude, you have plum gone off the deep end.  Oh, and FYI: ] ] ] I assume you also think 9/11 was a plot from our government.  Being that you believe anything you read on a message board that supports your theories, I am sure of it.  Keep on making this fun though!
 8.
You do understand the people who write the articles are people like you and I and the opinion section under the article. The author is not a supreme being which is why I pointed out the comment  section and everyone laughing at the dufus who thinks Boise st has a shot at the PAC 12.
My god, I have no idea what you are talking about in that reply.  Fact is, you said there is no way the Pac-10 would ever take Boise.  I provided a direct link to quotes from the Pac-10 commissioner stating otherwise.  Have a great day!
 9.
Go read the comments below the article.
There you go again, UNLV.  Trying to base your arguments on comment sections when you're not pulling your latest information off of fan message boards.  Why would I care what the comment section says?  You said specifically the conference would never invite Boise, and I provide a direct link to an article stating otherwise, and quoting the conference commissioner. When you start providing references to conference commissioners, school presidents, or athletic directors, your "information rants" will actually have a bit of credibility.  Now that I think about it, have you ever done that?
 10.
No way would the Pac ever take Boise.
Sounds like some one is blowing smoke to pretend he is in the know ]
 11.
The stadium was packed. I remember playing Central Michigan and they brought with them lots of fans. Check you archive, we also won the Las Vegas bowl. PACKED STADIUM....I was there.
Ah, I get it now.  You fback up your claims of the Rebels' ability to pack its stadium based on the opponent's travel-heavy fan base.  So I guess LU should expand their stadium so the fan-loyal Wisconsins of the world will come, much like the series with UNLV.  Yeah.
 12.
When I was there, the stadium was packed
Oh really?  Since you said that you were at UNLV in the mid-90's, I'm assuming you're saying the stadium was packed during Jeff Horton's 13-44 campaign from '94 to '98?  And this time frame includes a 7-5 year.  I'll let you retract that statement if you like before I dig through some archives to further reduce your credibility.
 13. Haaa, spin it however your mind wants you to, brother.  The WAC had no official intention of inviting Lamar.  You realized that and started your conference-of-the-month chant "LU to the Sun Belt".
 14. Oh yeah, I remember that one.  I believe it was a female reporter mentioning something about the WAC during a four-minute story.  I think she had one line about it.  Man, I forgot how close we were to joining the WAC there.
 15.
It came very close to happening.
LOL.  Says WHO?  Your inner self?  Saying something over and over doesn't make it a fact, and certainly doesn't make it happen.  I don't recall hearing anything about how LU will be joining the WAC from the LU public relations office, or from the WAC office.  Furthermore, no media reports ever cited either source, and that is likely due to their source being internet message boards.  The only group stating it was about to happen was a small faction on this message board.  Everything else was hearsay started by some random internet posters who were excited about starting their own thread.
 16.
However the mentality is "16,000 is more than enough. Lamar is a small school in a small town, just like SFA and SHSU."
It sure is funny how you have such a grasp on the "mindset" and "mentality" of SE Texas.  Quite the McCarthyism attitude--if no one agrees with you then it's their short-sided, typical SE TX upbringing keeping them from seeing the light.  Here's a brief history of what aggravates you: No one jumped when you said Lamar needs to join the WAC --[everyone, including myself, is frustrated by the slow movement for Lamar joining the WAC] No one cared that you later said Lamar would likely be getting an invite from the Sun Belt: --[SHSU, Lamar, and maybe SFA, one of these schools will get the call from the Sunbelt. Very soon] Now no one listens when you state that Lamar must accept some MWC bid that only you seem to know is coming.  And because no one listens you pass it off as the SE TX mentality.  If "SE TX mentality" means having all the facts and figures first rather than adapting a shoot first, ask questions later attitude, then I guess you're right.
 17.
the majority of the hat towards Thomas is because of his ethnicity.
Oh my god.  Low class, UNLV
 18.
Forget SHSU. Have you been to katfan site. They should rename it we-are-obsessed-with-hating-on-Lamar.com. 90 percent of the non-SHSU post are hate Lamar post. Seriously, there are more post on Lamar there than on this site.
Kind of ironic, being that the only one ever discussing Katfans.com on this site is you
 19.
Do you really need a link to do all your thinking for you. If I provide link of aliens on Mars will you believe that too. There is plenty of sites saying Texas st will get the invite to the MWC if AFA leaves. That leaves Texas st as a very lonely Island. Therefore many believe Texas st will need a travel partner. Some mention NMSU others  say Lamar. Same conclusion I came too. Look it up.
1) Much like I asked in my original post, I do need a link from you in order to believe that anything you say is your own hyperbole.  Since you failed to post links other than what a board member posted, I will now look forward to challenging the evidence you on any statements you make. 2) What you fail to grasp is that if you provide a link of aliens on Mars, you are the one who will believe it.  Much like a fan forum mentioning Lamar by name is interpreted by you as meaning that they are a conference target. 3)  I did not ask for evidence that Texas State will get the MWC invite if AFA leaves.  I asked for proof--from you--that there is "steam building" for Lamar to join the MWC outside of what you interpret to be proof.  You failed to provide this evidence, instead choosing to skirt the issue by asking "Do you really need a link to do all your thinking for you".  It's going to be a fun football season now
 20.
Paste a link to a message board, newspaper, or anything.  If you reply without providing direct evidence (via links) or that I'm not a "forward thinker" or that my logic is why LU football died, it'll verify that you are just creating rumors to support your agenda.
I see that you have ignored my earlier question.  I take it then, that you are going with another member's post that the only evidence of "steam building" for Lamar to the MWC is from a couple of MWC conference forum members???  So if I go and post in a Big XII forum that the conference needs to pursue Lamar will you then say that there are "rumors" of Lamar to the Big XII?  Is that your source--a fan forum?  Nothing from the LU administration?  Nothing from the MWC conference office?  Southland office?  Please, tell me you have something more to back up your claims . . .
 21.
there seem to be so steam building for Lamar to join the MWC
I assume you mean there appears to be "some" steam building for Lamar to join the MWC.  I haven't heard anything of this, so please--provide your evidence that there is a push to get Lamar in the MWC.  Paste a link to a message board, newspaper, or anything.  If you reply without providing direct evidence (via links) or that I'm not a "forward thinker" or that my logic is why LU football died, it'll verify that you are just creating rumors to support your agenda.
 22. Why are you on here ranting to essentially yourself about what Lamar should do??  You've been doing the same thing on this forum for three years.  Why are you not in Dr. Simmons' office getting direct information from him?  He is a "forward thinker", as you've stated repeatedly.  Or maybe I should ask why you are in fact not in his office telling him what Lamar should do?
 23.
La Tech is furious with the WAC.
We're still waiting on the citation for this, UNLV
 24. Kruger looks to be hired at OU, so Evans has likely just become more "available"
 25.
Ok you want to take it there. I'll take it there. Lets talk about dumb for 22 years. Lamar has picked coaches using this forum mentality. He is such and such son, he was assitant under X, he is from this area, he has a great record coaching sub DI, a great record vs piney tree college, he played for Lamar. Now that is dumb. No one is talking true coaching skills. We can debate Abatemarco coaching skills all day and disagree. But here is what my man brings to the table NYIT Iona Davidson St John under Lou Carnesecca North Carolina st under Jim Valvano...1983 National Championship Lamar Drake Sac st Colorado Virginia Tech Maryland under Lefty Driesell Utah Rutgers NBA-DL WNBA NBA I call that EXPERIENCE. Abatemarco would bring to Lamar that east coast style that got Butler and VCU to the final four. Abatemarco could bring NBA tactics that would kill all SLC or challenge USU in the WAC. What your guy has?
OK, I'll bite. NYIT, Iona, Davidson, St. Johns, Virginia Tech, Maryland, and NC State were all prior his first stint at LU, so that pretty much excludes them as all that "experience" showed no effect when he was at LU. You mentioned that he coached under Lou Carnesecca and Jim Valvano, but in your description of this forum's mentality, one of the problems with previous coaching hires is that "he was assitant under X".  So those two points you emphasize are by your own admission a reason against hiring him.  Sac State and Drake . . . .well . . . That leaves CU, a year at Utah, and Rutgers for college experience.  Middle-of-the-pack finishes at best. NBA-DL as an assistant, WNBA, and management in the NBA.  Could easily be said he wasn't sure exactly what he wanted to do. I have to agree, I think you fail to make a compelling argument as to why this is supposed to be the guy.  I would bet there are 100 college assistants with more experience.
