Southlake-Carroll caught up in cheating scandal

I say go after anyone who cheats, but for cryin' out loud, stuff like this has been rampant across Texas for years. Why such a big deal all of a sudden about this one kid? I am willing to bet someone with UIL connections is a direct rival of SL Carrol. No matter though, bust 'em anyways!

Cheaters never win! Oh wait.....in this case they do. In fact they win a lot!

Uhm... this guy might be losing, if I read correctly. I wish the UIL would have enough nerve to go after all the ones who live with their "aunt". The Katrina mess was horrible, too. There was reports of an impromptu "combine" being held by coaches in the Astrodome parking lot with the refugees...

What else can you say?The senate gives themselves a nice raise in cost of living behind closed doors only to slam the door on the elderly, disabled and retired folks by claiming an increase was not in order as the cost of living went down.DUH where at?I say clean it all up top to bottom let the guilty get they're justice.Who said gambling wasn't allowed in Texas lol

How can this man own his own business, he has no common sense. The situation was simple to cover up, put the house on the market for like 100 million, that way no one will buy it and just stay in long term hotels for work purposes. This is typical of some of the higher powered schools though, cheating for their own gain. I remember hearing about a D1 prospect from New Orleans coming to Lumberton during Katrina and yet he ended up playing for another unnamed school. (Unnamed in case I'm actually wrong, you know how you hear things and it was in another classification.)

I feel bad for all of the players from SLC that have been following the rules, and yet they may be impacted by this. You have to feel bad for the families of the players too. I know that cheating, rule bending, etc. go on--but I believe the majority of the players are following the rules and still must deal with issues like this. :'(

Whats starting to scare me is there are about 3 posts on this page saying what the kid/parents should have done to make it "okay". I wonder why the kid didn't just play in his hometown of Choctaw? By the way, you can see where the kid gets his arm from, the Dad put some zip on that bag of ice! OUCH!

This incident reminds of the mailbox in front of the empty lot in Dillon that Buddy Garrity put up!
When this nefarious plot was found out, Luke had to quit the Panthers and enroll at East Dillon.

Rumor has it the backup qb parents leaked this out to the news and they went with it.  That said, I feel for the kid.  I had heard that he was ruled in eligible by Oklahoma because the school failed to file the necessary transfer paperwork?  If this was any other school than SLC, this would not have been a story, but because he is a highly ranked qb and transferred to SLC, wfaa decides to go on a crusade.  Pretty sad imo.

The family is appealing the decision...I think they will end ruling him eligible in the end
[/quote]i dont know, that district they're in doesnt want him there

Not sure what district Keller is in, but of the 7 votes, all 3 yes votes were from Keller.

On a side note, everything I hear is that even with Daxx @ qb, SLC is not as good as they have been in years past.

    • High Point walks it off.  Vandy Whistler headed home!
    • Tomball takes wild 2nd game 8-6. Both teams had 3 E's. Tomball gave up a late lead but first game pitching star Sampson nailed a 3 run homer to push Tomball to victory.
    • My understanding is that the falsification of records was the crime that he was convicted of… but for it to have been a felony act, it had to have occurred in the furtherance of another criminal act. The prosecution had to first prove that the criminal act of falsifying documents had occurred. IF the jury believed that records were falsified, they were given three possible criminal acts… any one of the three would allow a felony conviction. The instructions stated that for any of the 34 charges, all twelve of the jurors had to agree that records were falsified, but they also had to believe that the records were falsified in the furtherance of at least one other, different crime. Six jurors could believe that Trump was falsifying records to avoid paying taxes… the other six could believe that it was skirt around election laws. The jurors didn’t have to agree on which of the three alleged criminal acts Trump was trying to further by falsifying records, just so long as they agreed that a) the falsification occurred and that it b) occurred to help him cover up another crime (for which he wasn’t charged and never proven to have committed or to have even occurred, for that matter).     Complete pile of crap as a prosecution, in my opinion.     But, we shouldn’t cry if our nominee is the kind of man who bangs porn stars while his wife is at home with the kid, then tries to buy her silence, then breaks the law in regards to falsifying documents to hide the evidence of the coverup.    If you’re wondering why falsifying those records might be illegal, it’s this. Money paid to your attorney for services performed can be deducted from one’s taxes as a legal expense. If the money is paid to a person to settle a personal claim, then the amount would be taxable-the falsification would have been done to avoid taxation. On the other hand, if campaign funds were spent to pay hush money and the records were falsified to hide the violation of campaign laws, then the felony occurred.    The bottom line is this…. They didn’t have enough evidence to indict trump on any of those three things that allegedly happened… but they DID have evidence that the financial records were falsified, so they point at these other acts which can’t be proven to bump the charges on falsification to a felony.    And the reason Trump didn’t take the stand is that he can’t go on the record about whether or not he had sex with Daniels… I’m certain that they can prove it and hang him up on perjury too.    The most delicious irony is this… Trump gave his supporters too much credit for their integrity. He thought they’d turn on him if they found out what he’d done, when in reality they wouldn’t have given a care… Trump’s whole falsifying records and quest for secrecy wasn’t even needed… his followers don’t have moral objections to his sinful acts.
