Liberty vs. Hardin (from the home camp)

Recommended Posts

Actually, it's all about perspective. Coaches come from various schools of thought and teachings. It's nothing sinister, nor is it poor sportsmanship. A coach going into scrimmages this time of year have different goals and things they need to look at. It's all about each coach's perspective and priorities. They are hardly ever the same.

i.e. You hardly ever find a scrimmage where the opposing coach want to practice his defense against exactly what the other coach runs offensively, and vice versa.

This is news to me considering Liberty's 1's scored 2 times and Hardin's only once.  I believe the scrimage ended 4-1.  Wow Haynes really knows how to lay it on thick!  I think he's upset about having it handed to him!

If you think thats funny, you shoulda heard him on the radio station.  :'(

Neither team is very good. It looked as if two JV teams were going at it. Hardin will probably fair pretty well in the 2A ranks. As for Liberty, it is going to be a long year going up against teams like Huffman, Coldspring, Splendora and Cleveland during district play. Liberty should be happy to be .500 at the end of the year.

Hey LP1989, when you said Liberty will be on top, what "top" were you talking about? Unless a drastic change happens, Liberty won't win a district game this year. I believe in pride and support for your team, but the people in Liberty have needed a reallity check for years. It took that to happen in Hardin before we started to succeed. Every year we said we were going to be champs, and every year we failed. Then one day we quit accepting the fact of losing was OK. Heads were rolled, bad attitudes were no longer accepted, and a lot of good things are happening now. Good luck Liberty, I wish you the best, but don't base your success this year on what your second team did in Hardin, look at how your first team was at least equalled by a smaller 2A school and try to improve from that.

I agree with Hardin Coach it was kind of weird watching a coach put so much attention on a scrimmage, and of course Hardin did force 5 turnovers agaist Liberty.  Liberty searching for something positive, I guess by sending his LB's every play he was showing his strengths.  Not sure but Liberty has long season, most likely watching the Hardin kids this fall in the playoffs.  I believe this scrimmage shows the inexperience of the new Liberty AD.

Hardin needs to worry about getting their butts handed to them by a 1A team next week !!! Hull-Daisetta will be ready to add another notch to their belt against Hardin. H-D only leads that rivalry with about 40 wins to 9 losses. Go Bobcats !!!

You must be joking, this is the best laugh I have had in years.  Coach Slack has turned this program in the right direction but Hardin will beat the Hull out of Daisetta at Daisetta in front of all those little cat fans.  QB will have to run for his life.  Villemez and Stelly to much for the cats.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
