KFDM COOP
FRom WOS 92... Our PA announcer can be pretty embarrassing. However, I don't think he necessarily has to be "neutral," just less obnoxious. I've never been to a game where the announcer didn't show SOME bias - at least in enthusiasm - for the home team. But, as I said, he's obnoxious.

exbccards76smom
Vidor's Visitor side is like that in a way. I can go to my son's in laws in Vidor and watch the game. They live right behinds the football stadium

Guest bc-all-the-way
KELLY! The announcer makes you sick with his home movie narration! How can anyone think they are that cute? "We have a yellow napkin on the field". "Let's thank the people that parks the cars". Let's thank Mr. ? for donating the sausages tonight". "Let's thank the people that opened the bathroom locks". OVER AND OVER! EVERY QUARTER!
MHS32
The worst visitor stands I've attended were Anahuac, Huffman, then Livingston. Anahuac because there are no stands and a 1 hole port-a-potty. Now that they are 2-A they have moved down to expectation. Huffman has added stands somewhat but have no parking for the visitors and the PA guy( the rev. no good) thinks he is the head cheerleader. Livingston is not as bad but no parking and a GIANT oak tree growing in the visitor stands. You guys are right about H-J (no stands) and H-F but like someone said H-F has some great food. gdickert
I worked several years as a sports writer and sports editor for The Enterprise, so I had the opportunity to travel to quite a few stadiums around the area ... I've been in some AWFUL press boxes. The one in Kirbyville used to sway back and forth when the Wildcats made a big play. The boudain balls are THE best at HF. We used to fight over who got to go to Vidor because the moms there made the best spread of food in the press box. The plexi-glass in the Anahuac press box was fogged from being too old and you couldn't see through it. The press box in Newton? I actually carried a hammer with me one time to nail down one of the boards that served as a desk to work on during the game. Silsbee's old Kirby Memorial Stadium had the best grass in Southeast Texas. After Hurricane Rita, it hasn't been kept up and the weeds are waist-deep. The new Silsbee stadium is first class. Used to be that you could stand near the back wall of the press box at Cardinal Stadium and see straight down to the ground. I only did that once! WAY afraid of heights. gdickert
Once in high school, we traveled from Kirbyville to Anahuac for an away game. It seemed like it took us four days to get there and back again ... especially since we lost. The only thing that made it bearable ... since I was part of the Jasper radio stat team at the time, we got to ride on the van with the cheerleaders. Life was indeed tough ... :-)
baddog
I haven't read the entire thread, so forgive me if this has been said already... LCM, please get some bigger visitor's stands. We bring the fans anyway and buy the concessions, the least you could do is make us more comfortable than sardines. It's also difficult to stand up for 3 hours. Thanks. LOL I think I broadcast from the board you fixed. first we had to kill the wasps then had to find something to prop the windows up...then beat the heat , but its still great to be there and see great HS football games

Istroumax
Really easy answer here. P-N-G............... and not because of the facility or the parking. Last time, I arrived at 6:15 and by the time I parked, got in line all the way back at the fire station, it took until 7:20 just to get to my seat. The worst part is it can all be avoided with a little common courtesy by having a few extra gates with ticket takers available. All you ever get from them is that you're just a whiner. I wish just once we could return the FAVOR at Nederland. That would ended it I promise !

Guest CougarPride
Huffman has just moved to 4 A and it was really sad this year when we played them and our band had to stand on the track the whole game because there were no room for them in the stands
softball921
ive been to ALOT of stadiums the past four years... i would have to say that the worst stadiums seating wise are Orangefield & Anahuac & Kelly. As far as concessions go... LCM & WOS definately need more help.. make things move a little faster... And the parking situation::: i never have to worry about that... police escorts & a big yellow bus take care of that one every game

I didn't get to the game until right at kickoff. Nederland game is the only game we need more than one gate open. Other schools in the area on bring about 100 people.
