  1. sportsbeat:: care to explain?! and... FYI Bridge City's stats are accurate. Their coach makes them run for "errors" that the stat people don't count as errors. Such as missing a bunt... etc.... So I'm pretty sure she wouldn't "pencil whip" anything.. She tells it like it is.
  2. Actually Bridge City brought along another coach, and him and an assistant coach switched off driving both trips Fri and Sat. night......... : if you ask me that was smart thinking ;D
  3. The games were originally scheduled for Thurs @ 7, Fri @ 6, and if a third game was needed, it would be played 30 minutes following the game on Fri night. The rain pushed the games back to a double header on Fri @ 6, and a tiebreaker Saturday morning @ 11 Bridge City had no school on Friday May 4. The girls had plenty of time to get rest and prepared for a double header on Friday night. It is not the coaches fault nor the athletic director's fault a hotel was not provided, no one thought the girls would be playing a third game.
  4. While I do agree that the picks were abundant this year, they were not accurate at all. Some players on first team, after personally playing every team in the district twice this season, as well as scouting some others, I don't even remember some of these kids. Just because a girl is a coach's daughter does not mean she automatically deserves first team. And just because she is a SENIOR does not mean she deserves special recognition either. Heck, some girls who were awarded first and second team played at their awarded positions for maybe only three district games. Thats a load of bull!!! > > > As far as the stats go, from what I've heard, Bridge City coaches put up stats & Silsbee tossed out a few here and there... All the other coaches were rewarding on the "political" aspect of the situation. Don't believe that ^^^ because as far as that coach is concerned, he put forth his best effort and work into that program and coaching position...
  5. Just because Bridge City lost a key player and a great athlete for one game does not mean they aren't capable of walking away with a win in five innings or less... In fact, it gives them a little more incentive to show everyone who's really the "big dog" in this district.
  6. ive been to ALOT of stadiums the past four years... i would have to say that the worst stadiums seating wise are Orangefield & Anahuac & Kelly. As far as concessions go... LCM & WOS definately need more help.. make things move a little faster... And the parking situation::: i never have to worry about that... police escorts & a big yellow bus take care of that one every game
  7. im not a football player... im not even a boy... but there is just something about friday nights that gets me so pumped sometimes i actually do start jumping up and down... its so hard as a fan to sit there and watch your team be down & the other team have the momentum and not be able to do anything... i just want to get out there and block those guys myself... not that i could but thats besides the point (except i could probably run the football... powder puff proved that [60 yd touchdown run ] ) its the spirit, the love of the game, the bond you have with the players & your community, the fact that your most supportive fans will be there cheering for you despite the humidity, or the downpour, or the freezing cold & the 15 mph wind, and even the MOSQUITOS, to know that you're all behind your team, win or lose... thats what Friday Night Football is about especially Texas High School Football!!
  8. eh. you guys were pretty good but i gotta stick with my BC drumline.. after all they had half the number of drumline members than yall did but managed to sound just as loud or ever LOUDER!! great job band!
  9. i know the bands were AWESOME but what about those strutters??
  10. you can predict all you want.. but im not gonna let some internet score predictions keep me from believing in our team.. yes the odds are against us. WOS is a very very talented team and they will be hard to beat.. but i still believe we are capable of beating them.. at least i believe in our guys, win or lose, and im not a fair weather fan..
  11. i guess all the other district wins were just "lucky" too
  12. im not giving up till the scoreboard friday night November 10 at Dan Hooks Stadium says 0:00... Bridge City has pulled a few nail biters so far this season.. they WILL be fired up to beat Hamshire-Fannett. & WOS.. yes i said it. .. i believe they can do it if they go out there and play LIKE THEYRE CAPABLE OF!!!! ITS NOT OVER, TILL ITS OVER
  13. looks like the BC vs Kirbyville game will be a sloppy one.. i personally just went and walked on the field. the middle is slightly damp but the sidelines are MUDDY already. theres one spot where they painted the yardlines and the paint just made a little puddle... lets hope the turnovers are kept to a minimum!!!
  14. as far as i know.. it doesnt matter if you win by one t.d. or one safety or one field goal in the fourth quarter.. a win is a win... as long as the scoreboard says you have more points when the clock says zero you walk a winner... even though im a firm believer in the fact that there is a difference in being outscored and being a "loser" (i.e. not playing to your potential).. you can play your heart out till the last second and still come up short on the scoreboard.. as far as friday night is concerned.. BC WILL WIN.. this will be the second week we're playing with a healthy, strong team.. as long as we stay focused and determined.. we will walk away with a win.. on the scoreboard and in our hearts....
  15. im bridge city born and raised.. but when it comes to giving respect when its due i know when to give it and i have a lot of respect for the bobcats coming into this game.. they are a strong team ,, one of the better ones orangefield has seen in the past couple of years and i think they do have a chance at the playoffs... BUT bridge city has been fighting hard every game and has had several last minute wins.. theyve overcome ALOT of obstacles this season and with at least three injured players returning this week... i think BC will come off with the win... it will be hard fought and defense will be key but i think we can pull it off...
  16. dont give up on our defense yet.. or our offense for that matter.. we're only two games into the season.. .theres still a whole lot more friday nights left ... and lots of room to make improvements on the field
  17. definately cody trahan... no questions asked
