This game should be an advantage for the Panthers at home.  For what I've seen in video of United, they have some good athletes. with QB Bronson, RB Brown and WR Green. They have an active front 7 group on D, not big numbers on their varsity so maybe some two way players. You can't over look anyone in this district or they will bite you.  BU hasn't played anyone ranked and I think Lufkin might be the best they have faced so far this season.  They still have LaPorte, Port Arthur memorial and the big rival game with BWB to play.  All I can say is t

This young Lufkin team has improved each week. Thought it was a great accomplishment to go on the road to Sterling for the first time this year and play well against a decent opponent. They were certainly fired up to play us, at least for awhile. Our D played just as tenacious as they did against PAM, they hit the Sterling QB so much early he didn't come back in the game, never did see exactly if he was hurt or not. He went out of the game last year against us too?  Sterling came back with a WR wildcat that was successful for just a couple drives, then after Lufkin adjusted that too went away. Sterling is a scrappy team, they don't stop playing. I thought our O did real well and maybe left a little meat on the bone in the 2nd half, I think all the sophomore connections are getting better.

Yea, after last week's giveaway and because Lufkin has a good broadcast, I don't think I'll make the 2 hour drive.  That means I can go dancing 😂

Edit:  NM.  I intended to say they have only played 3 games.  This is their 4th, indeed.

Nobody. That were off on 9/11

No guarantees in this district, you could get bit any night if you don't come to play in any week. Whether playing at home or on the road, doesn't matter. I just think Lufkin is a better at traveling than most others in the district, and that helps us every year, no matter which district we land, we don't mind getting on a bus to go play. Those Beaumont teams don't like traveling to Lufkin much.

A non-sequitur:  When we evacuated for hurricane Rita, we left at 6 a.m., and got to Lufkin at 6 a.m. the following morning.  The trip to Lufkin has never been the same ever since.  Lufkin wins this one, regardless.

In 3 games including a bye week, BU has not improved on anything.  We still can’t run the ball, probably because the best RB on the team only sees 3 touches a games. We still drop open passes.  And most important, our offensive play calling is still bad. I’m not convinced that anything different will happen this week.

Lufkin Freshmen A team knocked off previously undefeated Beaumont United 17-0. Ill say this. Beaumont United has a very good freshmen group. Outside of Longview they're the best team we played. For reference we beat PAM 48-0 and Sterling 52-8. BU is going to be really salty down the road. Phenomenal QB.
