What team from Texas would you send to play STA in Florida?

Nope. Damn sure didn't do it last season. I know about Atlanna (i spelled it right) football, they wasn't going over there and get ignit.

Texas UIL rules require the pregame handshake as a sign of sportsmanship. This wasn’t a UIL game.

I don’t think we have a team that can beat STA right now. I knew Desoto was going to get blown out. It’s very hard to beat those private schools.

Dont fall into the trap. X is full of race baiting and divisive content. They been trying to divide and conquer on every level. And when people give them an inch they take a mile. Then drag it out for another week til it disappears for the next wave of junk content.

Don't forget that when you play in other states, you play by their rules.  Texas uses NCAA rules while Florida uses NFHS rules.  That being said, STA looked to be the far superior team all game.

I guess it depends on if you think it’s just a game, or if you think some life lessons are supposed to be learned from the competition. If the coaches were the father figures for some of the players, would this be a lesson you’d want them to teach?

I guess I’m an old schooler. My kid’s almost your age.

The best I can find on short notice is Subchapter C Section 1201 of the UIL Constitution and Code of Conduct for general conduct guidelines. A search using the phrase 'Does UIL Texas require handshakes before or after competitions" returns:

Another search using a different search engine says UIL Texas does not explicitly mandate a technical handshake requirement. It's governed under the league's overarching guidelines for ethics and sportsmanship.

I'm not going to search the entire UIL Texas Constitution and Contest Rules. But, it appears to be a core standard vs. a strict rule. Violations are handled by the local ISD to keep the UIL out of specific conduct enforcement. (I can see why that would be tricky for UIL.)
