11 with 30 games (15 for each team) combined is a pretty good cushion. Just need to avoid a 3 or 4 game losing streak and the Rangers not have a short heater.  Don't think either team has the overall pitching to string together a long winning streak. We shall see.

Astros are now a 1/2  game behind the White Sox for the American League's 2 seed. A 2 seed that will likely have less than 85 wins I.would assume is not the norm. 

Most important thing is to simply qualify for the playoffs.

Abreu loses it but not all his fault.  Left too many on base.  The way we started off with bullpen was weird to me but maybe I just don't know baseball.  But they all pitched well just no run support.  I thought Pecko pitched good and the defense made some really nice plays to back the pitchers.  Oh well still 2 1/2 up and still could be 3 befor the night is over,

Astros fall tonight 3-2.  Only 5 hits on the night. 

Rangers up 6-1 early in the game over the Diamondbacks.

Astros drop the finale with Rays 14-4. A sweep at this point is not good. Not good at all!  Hold a game and a half lead.

I agree. No time to be swept.

Got to back this up with a little win streak starting Tuesday at home vs. KC.

6 game home stand (3 vs. KC, 3 vs. Atlanta) then finish season on the road with 2 at Seattle and 4 at Athletics.

I think it's going to take winning at least 7 of last 12 to win the division.

I hope this nis not the end of the year crater that we have had in the past.  In fact I was hoping the cratering happened the first part of the season.

I believe we still have a slight chance of being number 2 seed. Wishful thinking.
