This is definitely a down year for Silsbee. Maybe next year as well. Doesn't mean they can't compete for a district title this season and go a couple of rounds. Still early.

But they will be back to make more deep runs in a couple of years.

If you talking district championships no, I think they can still compete for a DC. If you are talking state championship? It’s definitely the beginning of the end. I think this years 8th grade class is solid but that’s about it and they aren’t anything compared to what Silsbee fans are used to.

So far Silsbee is averaging a little over 50 points per game.  We only have maybe two kids that can actually shoot a basketball well and when they're off it's really bad.

This is definitely one of the worse Tiger teams I've seen in a long time. I'm sure it'll get a little better, but I can't see more than one playoff win this year if we're lucky.

Sad thing is there doesn't appear to be much there on the freshman or JV squads either.

We won't have a chance of being really good again until 2027.

Going to be a rough year or 2. Silsbee next year could be worst. The 7th and 8th grades are really really good ive heard. Wish we had that super star guard back on our team lol.

I watched the game. It was pretty hard to watch. I come to the conclusion said guard was advised to make the move in his best interest. IMO

Payton definitely made the right decision in leaving. I hope he gets a ring or two at BU.

Him and Garrett in the same backcourt at West Brook would have been sick though.

I don’t think Silsbee is that bad , i saw some good things and a lot of bad things, but thats my opinion. Do they have the talent of past years of course not, but i think they can win with what they have . They are not ready to contend with schools like BU, WB, or those that are deep in roster size. The coach just has to find a style he and the team are comfortable playing and perfect it . I think they are a playoff team in their district which is all that matters just continue to play hard a figure it out before district comes around.
