AledoAlumni Posted 8 hours ago Report Posted 8 hours ago Although some of yall have shown to be whiny and sore losers. I would say PNG has a top 5 fanbase in the state. Would include Longview in that group also. Passionate fans for sure, very defensive though. TA2029 1 Quote

PN-G has been winning for a good run lately without the D1 athletes most of the schools that have made it this far have. So being the under dog can put a chip on the shoulder of fans and players. It is just natural to defend what we love. AledoAlumni and LHJJ05 2 Quote

You can see it that way perhaps if you feel guilty of it I suppose. Discuss something you feel is wrong. Other fanbases disagree, call you whiny, etc. Not sure if it's me or someone else you're referencing but I'm certainly not whiny about anything. I have an opinion that doesn't line up with others. That's where it ends. jayhawk 1 Quote

I was fan of PNG when Roschon was QB but since then comments have been made just changed my mind a bit. Quote

png9mon Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago Let me Comment on the fact that I now have 60 years of going to PNG Football under my belt. I have seen the best, and the worst that the Indian Nation Fans have had to endure, and/or celebrate over these seasons. Regardless, we have always had a solid fan base. Whether we won 1 game, or multiple many win seasons the Indian Football team has had it's fans supporting them 100%. Well all of the Indian Football Fans support them 100%, not all of the PNG Indian Purple Pride Band Fans, I refer to those who leave after halftime, but I digress. There is no reason to doubt that either team in the PNG vs SOC game tomorrow has a chance to win. THAT IS WHY THE GAME IS PLAYED!!! After this game I will be overjoyed to go to the next round in the playoffs, or be just as overjoyed that my Indian Boys had an incredible season. Indian Fans make a commitment to their football boys!!! Everybody come on down from Dallas & pull for 'dem Bears, Everybody come on up from Mid-County & cheer on those Indian Boys. I know I will be there, and all future games I am able until the good Lord calls me home. I-N-D-I-A-N-S Scalp 'em Indians, Scalp 'em!!! PNG HAS A SPECIAL SPIRIT, PASS IT ON!!! Darth Texas Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago I’m thrilled for this game. Think how many teams wait generations to be in a game like this. Always be faithful. CS. 1 Quote
cal81 Posted 42 minutes ago Report Posted 42 minutes ago The PN-G fan base holds the #1 record for attendance at a single game in the United States, at 49,953. Since championship games are multi-game formats now, that record we hold will never be broken. Times have changed since streaming didn't exist back then in the late 70's. And smart phones, computers, and just a different generation. Even when we packed out the entire side of the Astrodome in 1999, the total crowd was only 39, 000. (30,000 PN-G fans and 9,000 Stephenville). Our crowd with SOC in Cowboys Stadium in 2022 was only 32,000 as reported. PN-G's fan base is still top 5 easy. We are also involved in the #1 rivalry game in America too. (Nederland in our district), according to Sports Illustrated. I always thought PN-G owned Friday Night Lights, based on some of these numbers above, as well as the history of state championships to back it up. I think the glory years of 1974-1977 that includes a state championship in 1975, a state finalist in 1977 and two semi-finalists in 1974 and 1976, is about to be broken with a new dynasty forming. 2022: 13-3 State Finalist 2023: 15-1 State Champions 2024; 12-2 State Quarter-Finalist 2025: 13-0 so far...
