my girl have a bad knee so i know we ain't going far. Not sure if we gonna travel well to Lufkin, but should have good viewing.

Don't count Abseck and his staff out on this one. One thing for sure Lufkin will be well prepared.

There’s only one way I see Lufkin winning this game. We would have to turn it into defensive slugfest. Our offense is too inconsistent to win a shootout. Especially going up against a defense as good as PAM. Lufkin offense is too dependent on the run and has trouble stretching the field. We couldn’t run on PAM last year. And we don’t have our stud WR to bail us out this year. The coaches have scouted Lufkin and know all they need to do is stack the box and make the Qb complete passes. One thing I’m confident about is our defense. I’d be surprised if they don’t show up ready to play. It will be a physical game. Just not sure our offense will do enough to keep our defense off the field all game.

You have to take this analysis based on the last 4 games by Lufkin.  PAM will be hard to beat , this is their year IMO, they will go as far as the talent they have will take them.

I think this game is a bigger challenge than Longview in week 1.

I think the anomaly is PAM is better than Longview this year alone IMO. In fact, I think PAM and Angleton are the best two teams in 5A DI Region III. Better than LaPorte, Weiss, AMC and Anderson.

The eye test says they are better. Especially on the defensive side.

First off, where's the best food in Lufkin?? lol. Looking at the district games only and i mean this very respectfully, the Panthers offense struggled against BH, WB, and even sterling was able to move the ball and put up some points beating them by 10. Now, with the history of Lufkin, do you see this as a rebuilding year? I ask cause the Lufkin Panthers i have seen and heard about, would not let Sterling score 21,or go into OT with WB. I thought the BH was going to be where Lufkin came out swinging. My understanding is yall have some injuries and  i like to think that was a factor. Now, thats not saying PAM can't have a bad game these last two. My worry is I don't want to see them playing from behind, in yall stadium. I'm not sure if they can recover because it seems like Lufkin also turns it up second half. I'm very cautious to think PAM is coming in to smash. This game gives me NS vibes back when we would play them. I think that stadium is gonna be loud with a playoff game atmosphere. Kids get up and play REALLY hard for games like this especially being home.

38-21 PAM is my prediction with a win.

Stallworth ain't too bad, and may have an elevator, I don't recall. Dayton stands are impressive; the NDN Press kid called it the "stairway to heaven".  Never been to or even seen Lufkin stadium.  The last time I was in Lufkin was when we evacuated for Hurricane Ike, and it took 24 hrs to get there from Mont Belvieu. But the Whataburger breakfast was good. Oh, the humanity! Oh, and I'm saying PAM by at least 2 TDs.

Lufkin will have a stream at this site and I believe PAM ISD will too. I would suggest checking out the Lufkin stream for some over the top humor with our guys that call the game. You will either love it or hate it. But it will be anything than boring.

I got curious this morning and rechecked that tropical forecast, if we get anything from the gulf it'll be on next weekend, not this weekend.

 

And apparently if it does rain from that front in Lufkin it will be late Friday night, possibly after the game is finished. Keeping my fingers crossed.

DCTF/Pigskin Prep computer pick has P A Memorial a +17 point favorite over Lufkin.

DCTF Matt Stepp has P A Memorial a +7 point favorite at Lufkin.

Massy Ratings has PAM a +18 point favorite vs Lufkin.

You can trash the -5 for PAM, I think that was some pre season pick DCTF does. All of these different spreads are so confusing, just have to play the game.

I agree that the Lufkin press box has been inadequate a long time and very NON ADA compliant. We finally have some leadership that realizes that and are about to have a vote in May, 2026 to solve that problem. I have had seats right there at the top close to one of the press box doors for the past 32 years, have probably watched AggiesWeAre lug that equipment up those steps.  Have assisted many to get into or get out of the press box who were unable access on their own. It's not a safe entry, I've said for two decades it's a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Those steps getting into press box are an accident waiting to happen. I am pretty sure some folks have fallen over the years.

That is the problem, two different sized steps going up, I've seen several fall over the years, one a 80 year old fell there about 5 years ago about row 30, hit his head on the seats and concrete, EMT had to carry him down and he passed away the next day. Saw a coach from Oak Ridge slip and fall out of the booth at halftime about 10 years ago and almost land on some fans below him, I kept him from rolling a couple more rows. Stuff just like that, it's amazing it hasn't happened more often..
