You wouldn’t mind if he tried to finagle it, though, would you? His stalwarts would put his stuffed body on display in a mausoleum on the Mall. You know, like the Russians, to this day, have done with Lenin in Red Square.

I hope we make him king and be done with this election nonsense.

No concern for the Americans that aren’t on Obamacare that will have to cover the subsidies with their tax dollars?

No more than for the Americans who are paying higher prices for groceries, AND paying taxes to bail out farmers who didn’t grow them because of Trump’s ludicrous trade policies. Am I going to get scolded for being off topic?

Will never make it pass the Senate, and if I'm wrong -  they don't have enough votes to override Trumps Veto.....

I'm disappointed in Johnson. He's someone that started off honorable but has turned into a puppet.

It frustrates me that our government is playing games with healthcare subsidies that will greatly affect the lower income people. Whether we/they agree with subsidies in irrelevant. To eliminate them without ever addressing the real issue of healthcare cost is not representing the people they're supposed to serve. Why not you ask? Follow the money. They are not representing us.

People that are on Obamacare are paying taxes as well. Many, many independent contractors, doctors, small business owners, etc. are also on Obamacare. So are seniors in the gap that are still paying taxes on their Social Security while trying to hold a part-time job to make ends meet.

Obamacare covers more than just the 'poor.' The law made it--basically--the only game in town if your employer doesn't offer healthcare. I think people still forget this fact. Around 8% of the U.S. population is on ACA. Over 20 million people.

We're almost all getting screwed by the costs.

91% of Healthcare Is Government Subsidized.

Who is willing to do away with the employer tax benefit for insurance that allows them to pay you more? It's no different than the Obamacare subsidy. Could be easily argued it's worse. Not sure many realized that--unless they're on private insurance--they're probably receiving a subsidy of some sort for health insurance.

They are trying to - Democrats are the ones that put us in the mess, remember not one republican vote on this life changing bill.  It was complicated and insurance cost have risen/sky rocketed the last 11 years. It has been painful. Democrats knew it was there problem and ignored it. Republicans are trying to fix it, but it won't be easy and there will be some pain involved. You can't fix something overnight that took 11 years to get to where we are at.

All I know is this, when Obamacare kicked in the company insurance representative informed us that our insurance was going up 30%, the company covered some of it but my premiums went up a lot, all due to the ACA.

My insurance went up to cover others due to government interference, as did many folks, anything right about that?

It would definitely represent me, why wouldn’t me and millions like me count?

Nope. I think everyone’s in agreement that healthcare costs are out of control. Mine went up as well. I was still working. Now, I pay an exorbitant amount with no other options.

The only thing I ever agreed with about ACA was preexisting coverage. That could have been done another way. Didn’t need the monstrosity we have now.

I’m making an assumption here, but I imagine your ESI insurance (employer sponsored) went up because of the ACA mandate of minimum coverage for a company with more than 50 employees. The minimum coverage had to be equivalent to what the government stipulated in ACA as required minimum coverage. That may have been more than what y’all were being offered through your employer.

Of course, much of the requirements (birth control, etc.) were things the government shouldn’t have been stipulating IMHO. They added costs for us all, but almost pure profit for the insurers.

This is another typical government approach. Biden mandated the EV push with no plan to support it. DOGE cut departments and programs with no plan to address the voided needs. Congress plans to eliminate subsidies without a plan for relief to those most in need. There're way too many examples to list. They care so much they will revisit this in January.

Follow the money.

It is going to painful before it gets better. I wish there was another way, but I'm not sure there is.  Some of the things DOGE cut were ridiculous things tat were unneeded. The things they cut that are needed will be added back.

Bottom line, either we fix it, or we keep it the way it is......My vote is to fix it
