There is some wording issues. I follow a pretty unbiased attorney on another social media platform. He said the statute granting a 6 month extension seems to depend on whether the dismissed indictment was a "void" or voidable" act. If it was a "void" that likely means it was a nullity, did not stop the statute from running, and the statute has expired. If it was "Voidable" then it was valid until it was invalidated, the statute was met by the indictment back when it was returned, and the 6 month extension likely applies..... Any attorneys on the page care to chime in? Quote

He cannot repeatedly appoint temporary prosecutors. Halliday is a temporary replacing a temporary. If he could, he would circumvent the Senate’s duty to confirm appointments. That was how the judge interpreted the statute, and I’ll bet dollars to donuts the Supremes uphold the ruling. Quote

In some cases, and it appears to vary state by state The statute of limitations did not apply to Jean Carroll's civil case against Donald Trump because she sued under New York's This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up , a law passed in 2022 that created a one-time window for adult sexual assault survivors to file civil lawsuits beyond the normal time limits. The law allowed her to sue for sexual assault (battery) even though the original statute of limitations for that crime had expired. The second lawsuit was also able to move forward with the defamation claims based on statements Trump made after the original filing. Quote

The DOJ will find a way around Comey's statue of limitations claim. By the way, Comey is the only one I know of that has brought it up. Anyway -- I'm sure that 2022 law was for her and NY's TDS!
