gary-us-bonds Posted Saturday at 06:28 PM Report Posted Saturday at 06:28 PM Long year ahead for Lee. They don't have quite the same selection of athletes they have had the last 7 or 8 years. They aren't as crisp and swarmy on defense as they have been. It's a one man show for them. #2 played like Superman to get them within 50. Quote
John Blutarsky Posted Sunday at 04:18 PM Report Posted Sunday at 04:18 PM 121 points in two rivalry games is pretty impressive for GCM even though it's against smaller schools. I'm curious to see how they look against a solid 6A team. Do they finally get a district win in 6A? I don't think they've achieved that yet. Maybe against Channelview or Humble? Quote

Imagine if they had the running backs from. Crosby and barbers hill that both should be there along with the defensive tackle that's at ce king. They would be bordering on competitive in that district overall for a playoff spot I bet. There are probably other lower profile players that I am not even aware of that transferred out. GCM has the athletes to compete if they all stay where they should be. Quote
John Blutarsky Posted Sunday at 06:47 PM Report Posted Sunday at 06:47 PM It's been going on for awhile. I think Crosby's poaching days may be coming to end soon though. Quote

GCISD should have never let their athletics get this bad. Too many talented kids from Baytown. Glad GCM is on upward trend. Hopefully they fall to 5A D1 next alignment. Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote

How’s the RB (Bright) GCM got from La Porte doing? He was 2nd Team All District last year in 11-5A. Quote
Reagan Posted Monday at 08:53 PM Report Posted Monday at 08:53 PM I forgot that the previous coach for Lee resigned in June of this year. Not enough time to hire a good coach. So, this looked like a buddy deal to someone on his staff. So, having 79 points scored against you sounds like karma! Unfortunate for the kids that this hire went down this way. Just my opinion! That is true now but we have lost a few kids to y'all during the last several years and with good reason. I considered moving there myself when my boys were playing. I don't see GCM ever dropping back to 5A because that's where all the growth is. If anything I'd like to see GCCISD revert back to previous school lines and give GCM more kids so they have a better chance to compete. Then possibly move kids away from Sterling and towards Lee to keep Sterling 5AD1 and eventually bring Lee up to 5AD1 so we at least have 2 schools in the same district. Better it be the old Baytown rivalry. OlDawg 1 Quote

I know he had 3 TDs and I think 125 yards against Sterling. I haven't seen the stats yet for the Lee game. OlDawg 1 Quote

He would probably have them a little sharper, sure. Don't know how much better they would be overall. Quote
