Just a poll, but I think it serves as evidence of two claims being plausible… the threat by Talarico is real, and Paxton will do worse in the general than Cornyn. 
 

I know a LOT of people like me who voted in the Republican primary who will vote Cornyn in the runoff, but switch their vote to Talarico in the general if Paxton is the Republican candidate.
