TheMissingBand Posted yesterday at 02:42 AM Report Posted yesterday at 02:42 AM Paxton is corrupt. The only thing wrong with Cornyn is that he’s a decent man and y’all despise that. Porter 1 Quote

I guess that’s not enough of a yes man for the Weasel. All must comply 100% with him or risk retribution. Screw what their constituencies may want or need. It’s all about The Donald. A deep red Texas county that voted for Trump just voted 96% Democratic. In 2024, Trump won 58% of the vote. Starr County, Tx. Total vtes: 6,698 dem Total voted: 249 rep The writing is on the wall. Bannnon warns conservatives jail time if Repubicans lose key elections is real. Quote

Starr County (Rio Grande valley) has the highest pct. of Hispanics of any county in the U.S. according to Wikipedia, and had voted Democratic in every election since the 1800’s. The single time they voted Republican was in 2024. Deep red? Sounds like a single swing election in 2024 to Republicans because of the border to me. Now that the border is secure, people forget, and roll back to habit & norms. LumRaiderFan 1 Quote

They believed in what he was selling, and it didn't work out. He might not need their votes based on your reasoning, and you could be right because of the economy and the war. Things are really working out in his favor I guess. Quote

Nothing changed this cycle. They've always voted for a Dem Representative. Dems tried to boot Cuellar out because he supported the Immigration/Border policy. Trump vouched for him. Cuellar was re-elected. Hmmm... You should try to look into stuff a little better before just believing propaganda. Quote

TheMissingBand Posted yesterday at 02:38 PM Report Posted yesterday at 02:38 PM Republicans deserve what’s coming because they abandoned all of their principles to support a man who has none of them. It’s so laughable. It took Trump four years to destroy the economy, lose both houses of Congress, get impeached twice, and try to stop the peaceful transfer of power after he lost the election. So the morons re-elected him and it’s happening even faster this time around…. We can toss “raised taxes on working Americans with unlawful tariffs, weaponized the Justice Department to persecuted his perceived enemies and protect a pedophile/trafficking ring of which he was a member, illegally kidnapped the leader of a South American country and stole their oil reserves, and started a global conflict in the Middle East” to the list. And in a couple of weeks, you’ll be able to add attacked Cuba to the list. I pray to God every night that the third impeachment leads to a conviction. LumRaiderFan and DCT 1 1 Quote

From what I've read about his positions, he's one of the last few moderate Democrats left. His policies reflect his constituents--as they should. The Hispanics in the Valley aren't near as progressive as the Dem Party is now. Most Hispanics I know aren't near as progressive as many think. In fact, they're fairly conservative and very family oriented, hard-working folks. Quote

This… and they were never going to vote for a black woman to be president. That has more to do with it than a love of Trump. They didn’t fall in love with him after ‘20, they just didn’t want Kamala. I’ve been saying for years that instead of courting the white racists, the Rs should have been cultivating a relationship with the God-fearing, family-minded, fiscally conservative Mexican Immigrants. They’d have become voters for life…. Instead we have dipsticks like “I speak American” Pete Hegseth trying to talk to South American leaders on Thursday. Quote
Boyz N Da Hood Posted yesterday at 03:24 PM Report Posted yesterday at 03:24 PM Lame duck coming soon! D's need to focus and move more to the middle and drop all the BS stuff they throw out. When they saw ICE come into workplaces and taking whoever they could find, their opinions changed. It was laid out quite succinctly in an article I posted above. TheMissingBand 1 Quote
TheMissingBand Posted yesterday at 05:13 PM Report Posted yesterday at 05:13 PM On separate note, Trump announced yesterday that he won’t sign any legislation passed by Congress until after they pass his Voter Suppression Act. And now it has to include language about banning men in women sports and a ban on transitioning the gender of minors… this language wasn’t included in the version that was passed by the House. Some people say that it’s Trump forcing Republicans to get behind the unconstitutional bill, because nobody wants to be the R who voted against a measure that would strip rights from transgenders. But those votes were already in the bag… I think he’s actually worried that it’s gathered enough Dem support to pass, and he doesn’t want that to happen. If the Save Act were passed, he can’t immediately just seize control or cancel elections when “his” plan hasn’t even been tried out yet. He knows that his goose is cooked in November if the people are allowed to vote. Quote

And that disputes anything I said how exactly? The Politico article you posted also backs up my thoughts on the area’s more religious, conservative leanings. My opinion is they went for Talarico because Crockett was seen as way too progressive, and they didn’t know of many of Talarico’s views yet. When they find out, I don’t see them turning out in droves for him. You never know though. Lot can happen before November. Quote
