spidersal Posted April 27 Report Posted April 27 Nice 13-3 victory for the sweep. Now need to beat SEL at least once and sweep HCU. They always struggle with SEL especially on the road and will not beat A&M or Texas If they can win 4 they will finish the regular season 40-15 Still hoping they can get hot and win the SLC tournament Quote
myrecordwashorrible Posted April 27 Author Report Posted April 27 Was typing as you posted. Pending the outcome of SELA vs HCU, the Cards will be either 1 or 2 games back from the lead in the conference. Will at least sit only 1 game back of the 2 seed, but that is McNeese and UTRGV with the both holding the tiebreaker. Edit: The SLC website has the standings ridiculously wrong as always and the usually reliable D1 baseball is off as well. UTRGV is a 1/2 game up on McNeese, but has only 3 games left in conference. The remaining top 5 teams have 6 games left to play in conference. Quote

spidersal Posted April 30 Report Posted April 30 7 games left for the cardinals and really need to win 5 of the 6 conference games to have a chance 36-12 and still have a chance for 40 regular season wins. They are going to finish with a very good season, but rest assured the only SLC team to make it to the postseason will be the winner Quote
myrecordwashorrible Posted Saturday at 01:39 AM Author Report Posted Saturday at 01:39 AM Rikey Hunsaker throws 7 innings of shutout ball with 10 k's. Austin Neal finishes off the final 2 innings and LU wins 5-0 in the opener against SELA. snakehead26 1 Quote
spidersal Posted Saturday at 02:14 AM Report Posted Saturday at 02:14 AM A must needed win for the Cardinals. Hopefully they will win again tomorrow Fantastic pitching performance tonight myrecordwashorrible 1 Quote
myrecordwashorrible Posted Sunday at 01:41 AM Author Report Posted Sunday at 01:41 AM Cards fall 4-0 today. Had chances early but couldn't get hits with runners on today. Quote
spidersal Posted Sunday at 01:42 AM Report Posted Sunday at 01:42 AM Well the bats were silent today with the 4-0 loss. At least they loaded the bases in the 9th. Unfortunately if they lose tomorrow the season will probably be over with a nice winning record for the season Quote
myrecordwashorrible Posted Sunday at 09:00 PM Author Report Posted Sunday at 09:00 PM Cards fall 7-4 today. Have a mid-week in Austin followed by a final series at home against HCU. After today's games SELA is in great position to hold the #1 seed and UTRGV with a good shot at the #2. Where will Lamar be for the first round of the confence tournament? Next weekend will determine that. Quote
spidersal Posted Sunday at 09:04 PM Report Posted Sunday at 09:04 PM Well the Cardinals couldn’t do it today. Pitching and errors got them today. Still have a chance to possible sweep HCU and be 40-15 regular season or win at least 2 and be 39-16. Possibly either 20-10 or 19-11 in conference. Then go 1-2 in tournament, finish with a nice record before going home for the summer Quote

spidersal Posted Sunday at 10:01 PM Report Posted Sunday at 10:01 PM Just posting on what most likely will happen. Simply goes back to Davis’s teams never performing well in the conference tournament and the fact that they always seem to struggle with UTRGV, SEL, McNeese, and Northwestern; noticeably the 3-9 record vs these teams this season( that is 9 of their 14 losses) KF89 1 Quote
