Jasper's Future

I believe next year will be Jasper's year to shine. Depending on what districts the realignment turns out, will determine a district title for Jasper. If this district stays intact, I believe Jasper will battle WOS for the district title and I predict Jasper to win it. We'll see.

As for '09 season, I'm predicting that year to be Silsbee's year to shine.

They'll certainly have a shot, although I stand behind my belief that with our returning seniors and the standout underclassmen coming up, 2007 was the year to knock WO-S from its throne (as far as the next three years are concerned). We'll see! It will be fun to watch, regardless!

I would say WO-S is the clear favorite over the dog's for the foreseeable future.

How did Jasper's JV do this year against WO-S?

It was a JV/Freshman combined game that WOS won 14-0. I think WOS, Jasper and HF were all tri champs with one loss each in district. (WOS lost to HF, HF to Jasper and Jasper to WOS).

No one can predict the future, but I think y'all are fogetting about Hamshire Fannett, they have a good chance to grab District next year, BC COULD be good next year, (if the players want it enough to work for it).. I think the District next year will be much more competative than it was next year... But with Realignment who know's if hte District will even be somewhat like it was this year?

HF will bring back some good runners, but lose every player who completed a pass this year. With WO-S, Silsbee and Jasper returning most of their players from this year in 2008 (and more than a few in 09), they will fend off most "other" challengers for the district title (assuming it remains intact). I expect all three to be stronger than they were this year. Bridge City has miles to go before they contend for the postseason in THIS district, but stranger things have happened.

You are pipe dreaming!  District next year will be between WO-S and Jasper.  H-F has NO CHANCE of winning the district and BC - they are just bad and they will not be much better next year than they were this year.  I know that we all live with hope but really - try to be realistic about district 21-AAA.  If you are talking about football, it is owned by WO-S.

YEAH just like HF had no chance of beating Silsbee this year. People fail to realize that HF has not had Coach Mangan on Staff for less than a year. We have a ton of talent coming back next year and with a full year

and a off season under his belt he will cure what is ailing HF. Look for them to be in the mix for the playoffs for the next few years.

I don't recall many saying HF didn't stand a chance.  They definitely were not favored by most, but did stand a chance.  The district really needs to be split up.  The big 3 will be favored once again with the returning players and underclassmen currently on the rosters.
