Had Dill and Williams stayed at Central, it would be a no brainer for 2nd (actually would have been a battle for 1st).

Now I think any of the three, Central, Nederland and Ozen, could finish 2nd.

I'll say Ozen, for now.

Wholeheartedly agree with almost all of that. I would say either Central or Ozen could finish 2nd but I would guess Ozen as well at this point.  Tough to say without seeing Central without those two.  I would guess Nederland would be a step below in 4th although they might have the best player in the district now with Hayden Hefner.  Cupboard seems a bit bare though for the Bulldogs.  But every year I've thought that, they've been better than I expected largely due to outstanding coaching imo.   So saying 2nd is wide open among those three is certainly reasonable.   But like you, it's hard for me to imagine a scenario where Memorial doesn't win district.  I doubt they lose more than that he one district game.

Central by far will surprise a lot of people. The kid from Nederland is good but not even close to being the best kid in the district. I think that's very disrespectful and bias to even make that assumption. It was two kids from that district that was all region. Dill and Wesley. The PA kid Wesley is a player. Great size and could shoot it as well. Hefner is not ready to put a team on his back just yet. Maybe in time yes , but not now. You know your good not by just having good games. But having good effective games with great efficiency when teams game plan to stop you. Don't know if he's seen that yet and if he's ready for it. Kasen Harrision will be the guy at central for the next three years. The sky's the limit for him. Don't get caught up in the so called offers. All offers aren't real. The kid from Bush ( Ettienne ) had two offers as a freshman. Kansas state and Texas tech. I know the family well and let's just say he could attend those schools right now if he offered to pay for half. Memorial is definitely the team to beat. The rest of the positions will be filled by coaching. Ozens coach is in his first year, Central coach has had great talent and never really HAD to coach, and this is familiar for English. So the man who gets the most with less should win 2nd place. So don't count English out either. But all in all it should be an interesting year. I can't wait.

Pa Memorial will destroy everyone , central , ozen and Nederland will all compete for 2nd and the rest will be begging to get 5th place . I heard someone say Livingston would make play offs, probably the funniest thing I've heard all year . They have one player on their team the junior G Kyler Franklin kids a beast will probably average 20 points but can't carry that team full of nobodies to playoffs . PNG has no basketball talent whatsoever and lumberton will be fairly decent probably taking the 5th seed . We won't even mention vidor

    • What the writer stated wrt crossover votes in the primary/runoff: "Covey and his supporters Paxton and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said Phelan only won because Democrats crossed over to vote in the Republican Primary for him. Paxton said Covey’s campaign identified “at least” 1,442 Democrats who voted early in Jefferson County in the primary runoff. Texas does not have party registration, but a voter’s primary voting history is public. The Covey campaign has not released its methodology behind its claim, but  This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up  by The Texan news website found that 9% of Republican voters in the March District 21 primary had voted in one of the previous four Democratic primaries. However, only 5% of that group had voted in all four previous Democratic primaries. What Phelan’s opponents did not mention is historically Democratic Jefferson County is undergoing a political transition towards the Republican party — the county judge switched his affiliation to the GOP in 2017 — so many residents have a mixed primary voting history. And Phelan’s allies in the House dismissed the idea that liberals swung the election. "I knocked on doors, hundreds and hundreds of doors, made calls for Dade,” Republican Rep. Jeff Leach, R-Plano, said on Mark Davis’ radio program Wednesday. “I did not speak to a single Democrat down here in HD21. Not a single one." "
