Guest ECBucFan Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 What's unrealistic and far fetched is how a community can base their successes on District championships or playoff appearances. Like I said earlier: "If you are 1st, you have a District Championship in the books, and if you make 3rd round, you extended your season and you have some playoff wins. That might not be the ultimate success but it is real, tangible success. Considering matchups, I'll take 1st or 2nd over 4th any day. I think most everyone else would too." Your sour grapes are causing you to try your hardest to discredit others District Championships and playoff wins. It makes you look petty, jealous, and small. Funny thing -- would you come on this board and say if and when Hardin would win the DC, and play ball into the 3rd round, it would be worthless? Doubt it! Quote
Salesman Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 If it's not a state championship, it's a bust. Why's that hard to understand? Quote
Guest ECBucFan Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 Multiple District Championships...multiple playoff wins... 20 year streak. You don't have to try to understand it, because YOU CAN'T. :P Quote
Salesman Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 I don't want to. Thanks for the offer though. Setx football has been the red headed step child for a very long time. ONLY 1 credible program in all of SeTx is Dayton. Not even an argument. Quote

Salesman Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 Newton is advertised as Southeast Texas on this site. I consider Newton East Texas. One of the premier small schools for many years. WOS needs jewelry & trophies to play the part. Winning rings 30 years ago isn't relevant That's like saying HD is a compatible program. Quote
uknowit2 Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 So 98% of the teams that strapped on the cleats this fall are all failures. Got it. You're the subject expert when it comes to losing so I'll take your word for it. Quote

Your team just lost by 46 points to a team that was 0-5 so now you are trying to find positives. You scored 1 touchdown offensively on a defense that was giving up 50 a game. Yes kountze is getting better each weak, but really bro Quote
Salesman Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 Its tough to embrace change or even thirst for something better or different even. Complacency and contentment always motivate a poverty driven mentality, to embrace the familiarity of underachievement. Quote
Salesman Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 Kountze is headed for great things. You'll want to sit back and relax, Sherrif. Quote
Salesman Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 What story are you referring to? You must be lost Quote

mfd814 Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 Jeez, take off y'all's high heels and stockings fellas. I don't think Salesman is trying to DIScredit anyone. And he is confident the Hornet program is headed in the right direction. Hardin had a taste of victory when Joubert coached there, and another taste when Haynes was there. They are striving for that. Small victories , even a 4 game win season is a lot, when for yrs you only had a one or two win season. Coming from a defeated attitude, overcoming the acceptance of defeat, people putting you down, the community, neighboring communities, teammates, etc. To Unteach what some have lived thru, is not a easy task. Some are graced with being born into a winning attitude , some are groomed for it, some take to it easy. Some accept it. Some Accept losing as part of life. It takes hard, non stop, work to unravel it. If you are blessed with a couple of athletes every, now and then and they have success, it brings a lot back to the community. Yes, Hardin wants district championships, and more. Everyone does. To build a program back up, it takes small victories. First you want productive citizens, that are able to get an education, get a job and provide for their future . Keep them alive, off the street corner, off the fence line, off of the drug of choice, out of prison. When that kid comes back, and shows you his kids, tells them how great it,was to play for you, to be a Hornet, and the memories they had, those memories are just as good,as the trophies and patches that you can't take with you. Everyone thinks EC, Ktz, Newton etc are great programs. Hardin is working to get there. Some say we discredit them, but you look in the shiny trophy when you say someone can't understand, won't understand, will never get there . Salesman, keeping working with the kids, give them the tools they need . Remind them, beating HD, WH and Liberty should not be there only measuring stick, they are bigger badder wolves out there to set their sites on. Quote
Salesman Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 Anahuac / Tarkington are with us. Talent around the league was minimal for many years. But, times have changed. 8 - 11 yr old groups at Liberty / Anahuac are also loaded with talent. We're real excited about the years to come. Quote
