eagleswoodville#1 Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 Kirbyville is a lot better to me this year! Oh yes. No doubt about that. It's actually surprising the amount of improvement they've shown over just a year. Quote
Shakeandbake Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 18-16 56-0 with a running clock...I see the improvement from last year Quote

Shakeandbake Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 All he has talked about during the 4-0 start is how much better they are this year from last year...better players, better coached, and better support. Let's see how that goes playing the teams they played last year. I would like to have seen crowd support but I was watching the Hawks and the Bobcats partake in a war. Were you there? Quote

Because it's the truth? Can you expect a team that went 2-8 last year to come in and compete with two of the top teams in the state the very next year? With a new coach? And new offensive and defensive schemes? It just doesn't happen. I think anyone who saw us last year and has seen us to this point this year would agree that we are much better. From a program aspect for sure. No, I'm sorry to disappoint you, we aren't one of the top teams in the state yet. May not ever be. But when you look at the development of a HIGH SCHOOL football program, you look at much more than simply what goes on between the whistles. You look at whether or not the kids believe in it, you look at how the program develops them as players AND as men, you look at the attitude and energy level of the coaching staff, etc. There are so many things that go into developing a successful program aside from wins and losses. Especially in the first year with a new coaching staff and completely different way of doing things. Waldie has done an A+ job in my opinion, being able to see the development of the program through multiple aspects. No, it's not where we want it to be quite yet. I don't think any realistic person expected it to be. But these kids are buying into the system and the community is FINALLY supporting these kids the way we've been dying to happen the last fifteen years. warparty and kcat-fan 2 Quote
