How is the #9 ranked team beating the #21 ranked team considered an upset? And the #9 team is playing at home!

Good grief!

I am the Self Proclaimed CFB Guru, and If I say i is is upset, It is.

Their are going to be thousands of upset Aggie fans after the game. There are going to be some upset coaches concerned over the poor start to the critical third year. This game will be upsetting.

It's posts like this that keeps me from taking any of your posts seriously.

It's really getting "grade school" in here.

I think king was hoping for some legit predictions on upsets the first week when he posted this thread. ;)

This is a forum. Posts are not taken seriously?

AAW you have the option of not reading threads. I do not see how I could have made you angry?

Have I violated any forum rules? Not that I am aware of. Please let me know If I have. :o  :o

Having different opinions is what make freedom of speech so great. I am sorry if you do not like anyone who questions your Aggies. I could have been an Aggie, a long time ago, and chose not to be. I have never regretted the day. I am a second generation University of Texas Longhorn and proud of it.  :)

I guess that my posts have made you think about the direction of the Texas A&M program. When any new coach takes over a program year three is a critical year. I am sorry but this is true for Texas A&M also. Year four is critcal too, but yuo have to get your program through year 3. This is the year you are weaned from the previous staffs recruits, and start replacing them with your own. This is the your program starts taking over.

Coach Sumlin had a great year in year 1 with Manziel and the sec. Year two with the same personnel was a disappointment, and losses increased to four. Many had predicted that Texas A&M would compete for the sec title. They had the most dynamic player cfb has seen in  years, returning for his third year.

I have not been disrespectful or called any names. I called the Texas A&M coach, Coach Sumlin, out of respect. This is unlike some aggies poster who disrespect Coach Strong by calling him anything they want. But that is OK. I am not an Aggie, and chose not to be. You need to read and jump on what is wrong, not what is right.

But the thread was posted simply to get some predictions on what upsets will occur in the first week of college football. It was not posted to get your take on Coach Sumlin's 3rd season and your constant dig on the Aggies.

I am pretty confident in stating that everyone on here but you would not consider #9 South Carolina at home beating #21 Texas A&M an upset.

How about show a little intelligence for once and not your constant bias talk against A&M?

Oh, I am not angry. Just think it's getting pretty pathetic in here with the "grade school" attitudes and comments.

Really hoped this thread would be about what it was intended for, football talk.

The Aggies jump out to a 3td lead midway in the 3rd quarter which brings extreme distress and 'upset' to the old ball coach. Throwing his usual sideline tantrum and his visor a distance of 30 yards, Spurrier rallies his troops for a last second victory.

Now TXHORN

AAW has already explained that this is not an upset.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
