Bridge City (24-3) advances to Area Round for the 14th consecutive year. They will face Sweeny .

Sweeney is going to hit the baseball and make the plays only thing for them is no dominant pitchers just two decent ones who throw low to mid 80's

Tough night for Tarkington, it happens to the best of them. Sometimes you just can't make an out or do anything right to save your life while the other team is firing on all cylinders. The starting pitcher for Tarkington drew a tough assignment after catching the first game and being asked to come back the next night and pitch, really tough to pull off, but he certainly gave it his best shot. BC just got rolling and it was contagious throughout the lineup. Great game by the Cardinals in all phases!

As a side note I'd like to say that everyone I spoke with from Tarkington was extremely nice and very gracious opponents. The coaching staff was very classy after the game as they spoke with BC players and fans alike wishing them good luck in the coming weeks. Some really good folks over there.
