How did the PNG and West Brook scrimmage go?

PNG will be the best team in the area. They have a lot of depth this year.

PN-G has two, possibly three starters that have yet to practice or play due to basketball. With three to four positions wide open, it will take a few tournaments to figure out the pieces of the puzzle. Way to early to say "best team in the area". IMO Silsbee would be that team, they went to the finals last year, and didn't lose much. As far as depth for PN-G, yes, pitching.

PNG has the best pitching staff in the area. If they can play defense and hit a little bit, they will make a good playoff run.

Not too early, they will be best team in the area. Now, once playoffs start, I feel PNG will be playing tougher teams then Silsbee. Doesn't always mean a team in a different class that goes further is better.
