most of you trash talkers certainly have never played sports or you would know the cardinal rule or sports trash talking...never give your opponents motivation...i know Coach Credeur very well and thats not his style to trash talk so it shouldnt be yours...he would rather do his talking on the field and thats what you should respect....he is a very smart man....will do great things with your team...but DAMN give him some respect by not motivated other teams to kick your butts on friday.....you should talk about the good things the team is doing like dedicating the game agaisnt PNG to him becasue its his former school and how the kids were broken hearted after the game that they did not win for him.....i told everyone he wil make these kids play for him and that just what he is doing

By Doyle Barlow & Michael Pineda Baytown Sun Published October 22, 2006 By DOYLE BARLOW and MICHAEL PINEDA BAYTOWN — The Lee Lady Ganders clinched at least fourth place in District 21-5A and a playoff berth with a thrilling five-game home win over Channelview Friday night. REL (22-12, 7-6) trailed the Lady Falcons 14-10 in the fifth and deciding game, but with their backs against the wall and one point away from defeat, Kevyn Jackson served for six straight points, sparking the Lady Ganders to an 18-16 victory and sparking a big celebration. “I told them to look up and see the banner up there, they’ll have their own hanging up there soon,†REL head coach Alicia Salinas said. “Everything from here on out is a bonus, because making the playoffs was our goal going in to the season. “Everyone played great, but the season is not over with.†REL won the first game of the match 25-17 and the third game, 25-18. Channelview’s wins were in the second game (25-21) and fourth game (25-20). Jackson led the Lady Ganders with 27 kills and 10 digs, while Shardae Philogene added 14 kills and Lori Ward had 35 assists. REL will close out the regular season Tuesday night at Atascocita. A Lady Gander victory in that match would forge a third-place tie in the district with Atascocita (14-18, 8-5), meaning the schools would have to face off again next Thursday or Friday to determine playoff seeding. Kingwood is alone in first place in the district at 13-0, while Sterling is a game back at 12-1. Those two will meet Tuesday night at RSS, with the district title on the line. Sterling PORT ARTHUR — However hot it may have been inside the Port Arthur gym, the Lady Rangers were hotter, as they breezed through their last road match of the regular season to set up an all-important District 21-5A showdown with Kingwood Tuesday. With the starters flexing their strength and the bench gaining valuable playing time, Sterling knocked off Port Arthur 25-6, 25-10 and 25-9. The win gave RSS a 12-1 district record, one game behind Kingwood. “We did what we had to do and we managed to stay focused,†RSS head coach Nadine Horne said. “We got the game over with and we know what game we need to start focusing on. It is either now or we can talk about it for the rest of the year.†Sterling was never threatened in their match with the Lady Titans and they never trailed. The first game set the tone for the match, as the Lady Rangers jumped out to a 13-1 lead. Leading 4-1, Sterling ripped off nine straight points behind the serving of Amber Russell, who had an ace, and the play of Destiny Mason who had five kills in the run. Port Arthur was able to put some points on the board and close to within 16-4 but it had little impact as Ashley Tadlock put together four kills and Katie Breazeale added two kills and two blocks to put Sterling at game point. Russell recorded her second ace of the game to place RSS out in front at 1-0. Sterling jumped out to 3-0 in the second game when play was suspended momentarily when the referee was asked to move her car. Timmy Massengale was credited with an assist as he came out of the stands to move the car and play resumed with the Lady Rangers taking an 8-1 lead. The Lady Titans put two on the scoreboard but were answered with a 5-1 run as Mason had three kills and Breazeale added another one. Port Arthur had another two point burst only to be answered with a kill and block by Priscilla Massengale and the Lady Rangers cruised to a 2-0 lead in the match. Breazeale picked up two kills and Mason matched her with two more as Sterling took a 6-0 lead in the last game. An ace by Tadlock as well as a kill in the run lifted the Lady Rangers as they put it on cruise control to close out the game and match. Mason had 19 kills on the night and Breazeale added 10. Courtney Zink had 12 digs and Russell was credited with 29 assists as Sterling improved to 34-5 overall. Barbers Hill With the District 21-4A title already in hand, the Barbers Hill volleyball team closed out the district campaign undefeated Friday night with a 25-6, 25-10, 25-3 win over Smiley, who finished the season 0-17. Next up for Barbers Hill will be a warm-up game at Wimberly on Saturday and then the Area playoffs. The Eagles, who get a bi-district round bye, will face the winner of Sante Fe and Lamar Consolidated. “We played fine and we had even playing time,†BH head coach John Leonard said. “We are going to put the screws down. The early rounds could be our toughest ones. If we get past area we will play Port Neches-Grove, C.E. King or Friendswood. “We have an open week and we are going to scout and begin to put our strategies in. We are going to have some long practices this week.†Keely Rivera led the Eagles with eight kills in the win as everyone saw action. Barbers Hill improved to 29-7 overall and 14-0 in district. “I wouldn’t want to play us in the playoffs,†Leonard said. “What we do is unique and fast. We will play as long and as hard as we need to.†Crosby While Crosby has been winning in the second half of the season, they have not been as dominating as they were in the early part of district play. It caught up with the young team on Friday, as they fell to Galena Park 20-25, 29-27, 19-25, 25-22, 15-10. The loss did not hurt the Lady Cougars’ standing as the second place team in District 21-4A as they will travel to Beaumont Ozen at 7 p.m. Thursday to face Little Cypress-Mauriceville in a bi-district playoff match. “It makes me very upset,†CHS head coach Stephanie Cone said of the loss. “I don’t know what happened and I am concerned. But now we start off with a new record. What we did before doesn’t matter. “You have to be upset but you can’t dwell on it. We will put everything we have into Thursday’s game. When this team gets out and plays, they are tough.†Brittany Hoag led Crosby with 16 kills and Lacy Bates and Courtney Nutt had 11 kills each. Kristin Pannabecker and Lindsey Bates each had eight kills and Meagan Travis had 34 assists. The loss dropped Crosby’s record to 22-7 overall and 11-3 in district. -
I have been waiting for a couple of weeks, for us to get to Friday night, to be able to watch BC/K-ville, but the week leading up to this game is going to be a joke. I might have to not visit this board for the rest of the week, because I feel I am getting dumber week by week. Reading this garbage that K-ville ball calls the english language is numbing my brain. And as we all can see, he still did not reply to my bet. He is all talk and no show. When BC wins Friday, maybe this will shut his ignorant mouth up. My five year old speaks with better english than you do. And can probably spell better. And would even submit that she knows more about football than you do. All you know is they are going to win because the moons of Jupiter have aligned or some other stupid reason. I hate being rude to you, because I don't like speaking bad about someone, but you bring out the worst in me. Please bring something productive, football wise, or go home. And this garbage about you being hated by few and respected by many...Well, that's a load of horse puckey. I would like to have a show of hands of the people that like and/or respect K-villeballa...Anyone...Anyone...Anyone...Just as I thought.

No kidding. If you want to talk about undersized, slow and injury prone then lets talk about Barbers Hill.

shorttexas1 I think that you are being a little to hard on coach Rice. I have watched the Jaguars over the pass five years. He has pressed when he has had the personel to press. As a matter of fact he was probablly one of the fastest teams in the area when comes to pressing and pushing the ball up the court. You also have to look at the fact that the Jaguars has been as deep as they had been as a 5A school. You need to take that into consideration when you talk about pushing and pressing. Size is not always the best indicator of what style of play you choose. There are some teams that are big and run the ball and there are some teams that are small and play a controlled fundamental game. Case in point - Vidor Pirates. Just because you run and press don't mean you're going to win either. What if a team forces you into a half court game you still have to be able to score. Another note: you mentioned loosing He has never had a loosing season!!!! I think he won twenty games last year. -
The good thing about only be a fan, and not playing the game, is that you can look forward to any game you want and it has absolutely NO impact on the "next" game. With all the talk of "who will finish third" on this message board and others, I just thought I should add a new perspective to the list. However, I know that it will be VERY tough for Nederland to win out. I'm not counting on it.

WO-S 20 Silsbee 13 Final/Comments
AggiesAreWe replied to Bobcatfan4life's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
All this talk about one team playing their worst game, the other playing their best, players not wanting to shake hands, fans making excuses, field conditions, ect. ect. ect., this is all a bunch of baloney. It was 2 very good teams duking it out all game long, with one making just a few more plays than the other to pull out the victory. Please folks, let's not take anything from these players who busted their butts out there all night. Did WOS play their worst game last night? Did Silsbee play their best? This can be debated for quite some time. I for one cannot comment on if that was the Mustangs worst game since that was the first time I had seen them this year. I do believe that the Tigers had something to do with the quality play or lack of, that the Mustangs had. I've felt all along that the Tigers would match up very well with WOS, and they proved me right. IMO, Silsbee was just a couple of pass completions away from changing the outcome of this game. WOS made the plays when they needed to, that was the difference. I've seen Silsbee all year, and that was about as good a game as they have played but they still made some mistakes which tells me they could have played better. I don't think we have seen the best from the Tigers just yet. As for the folks that made those silly predictions of a blowout, well all I can say is that is why they play the games. I will agree that most of these comments came from non-WOS fans but there were a few that were Mustang fans, you know who you are. But hey, everyone has fans like that and I refuse to lump all Mustang fans into that category, that's just ridiculous. I enjoyed meeting with some of the WOS fans after the game, great to see the faces with the names. Ya'll are some great guys. This game is over, let's all move on. Good luck Mustangs the rest of the season. Let's have both teams represent 21-3A well in the playoffs and bring back 2 State Championships to Southeast Texas. -
WO-S 20 Silsbee 13 Final/Comments

Silsbee is every bit as good as I expected they would be. Please rememeber that almost all of the blowout predictions were made by non-WO-S posters. I'm not surprised by the outcome. Silsbee's team definitely has my respect, both now and before the game was played. I'm really suprised at the talk of no handshakes during the coin toss. That is totally unlike WO-S. If this truly did occur, the coaches will address this. The WO-S coaches are serious and strict about instilling good sportsmanship in their team. It's always been that way. Enjoyed meeting SilsbeeD, AggiesAreWe, and SHS 84 last night. Y'all are good people. I hope to see the Tigers make a deep run in the playoffs. The WO-S faithful will be pulling for you. -
Bridge City 28 Orangefield 18 Final/Comments

Yes, BC got all TD's from the 1 yard line due to the very poor ref on the Orangefield side. Must be the same ref that thought the 1 yard line was the goal line a few years ago had to be the worst officiating crew i've ever seen in my life! Taking an officials timeout, and both teams get to go talk to the coaches (which is a no-no) and then waiting for BC to get back on the field was a 'blessing in disguise'. The refs weren't taking charge at all. -

The could've, should've, would've stuff is interesting to talk about, but it goes both ways. I'm just saying what happened tonight is the only thing that anyone can say with certainty, and it went WOS' way in this game. That's not taking anything away from the Tigers' efforts -- they played great. In the same respect, WOS did what they needed to do to win and prevailed tonight in what will be a memorable game. -
I know, I know your thinking good lord do you need a poll for this?? I figured I could atleast give smiley some votes from the BH Haters seriosly though got to have a topic up this week for BH to talk about!! Smiley beat Huffman this week and gave New Caney troubles the week before. Smiley I'm sure has some speed and kids that can play they just got to find some coaching toget that program out of the gutter. BH should go nuts this week just play safe and injury free ,so we can save some for the playoffs!!

Cats, Cards Both Fight For Key District Win Gabriel Pruett and Van Wade The Orange Leader ORANGEFIELD — There will be a sea of both orange and red tonight at Orangefield’s F.L. McLain Stadium when the Orangefield Bobcats play host to the Bridge City Cardinals in the seventh rendition of the Bayou Bowl. The two close-together communities will be there hooping and hollering for their boys in a game that will have significant consequences in the hotly-contested District 21-3A race. The Cardinals (4-2, 2-1) enter the game tied with Kirbyville (4-2, 2-1) for third place while the Bobcats (3-3, 1-2) sit just one game back with four regular season games left on the schedule. Bridge City leads the series 5-1 with Orangefield’s last victory coming in 2003, 15-14. The Cardinals have claimed the last two games, winning 48-0 in 2004 and 28-0 last year. The winner will receive the Buzzie Gunn Trophy, a trophy that will remain with the winner for the whole school year. The trophy will be presented by the Bridge City-Orangefield Rotary Club immediately after the game. The trophy honors legendary Orange County photographer Buzzie Gunn. Gunn and his father T.L. Gunn were certainly pioneers as far as shooting football action in Orange County for generations. Gunn’s Studio is owned by third generation photographer Chris Gunn, son of Buzzie Gunn. “It’s a great rivalry game,†said BC head coach Claude Tarver. “The communities are so close together and the kids all know one another. Heck, I live in the Bridge City school district but live closer to the Orangefield school. A lot of people in both areas could probably say that. There is so much anticipation for this game every year.†Morrisson knows how much the game means to both communities but a Bobcats’ victory will mean even more to their playoff chances. “To us as a team it is another game and another week,†said Morrison. “The game keeps getting blown up more and more and that is fine for the communities and the media. As a team we have to get back on the winning side of the football and get another district win because you never know what is going to happen down the road.†The Cardinals are coming off an impressive fourth-quarter comeback to topple Jasper 22-14 last week while the Bobcats absorbed a tough 40-26 defeat at the hands of Kirbyville. The Cardinals enter the game averaging 276.3 yards a game on offense while the defense allows 279.5. The Bobcats are piling up 275.2 yards per outing and are allowing 318.5. The game will feature two of the better senior quarterbacks in Southeast Texas in the Cardinals’ Johnny Dishon and the Bobcats’ Brett Ramsey. Dishon, despite battling a nagging ankle injury for much of the season, has darted around for 780 yards and five touchdowns on 125 carries and has completed 19-of-54 passes for 357 yards and two TDs. “Johnny Dishon is an excellent athlete,†said Orangefield coach Blake Morrison. “He has great speed and vision and then has a great supporting cast around him in Cody Mills and Troy Both along with the rest of that offense.†Ramsey, a three-year starter, has completed 40-of-82 passes for 699 yards and eight TDs and leads the squad in rushing with 488 yards and 11 TDs on 97 totes. “The Ramsey kid is having an excellent year and has shown what a tremendous athlete he is,†said Tarver. “He’s played so smart and his decision-making has been superb. The whole Orangefield offense has played well all season. They just don’t turn the ball over much at all and they’ve moved the ball consistently.†Cody Mills also aids the vaunted Cardinal rushing attack with his 415 yards and six TDs on 72 carries. Senior lightning bolt Troy Bolton leads all BC receivers with 13 catches for 197 yards and two TDs. Ramsey has two excellent receivers that he likes to turn to. Corey Sheppard leads all Bobcat receivers with 16 grabs for 299 yards and three TDs while Jared Helton has 12 catches for 211 yards and two TDs. The game certainly has playoff implications. A Bobcat win would draw them even with the Cardinals but a third 21-3A loss would be detrimental to Orangefield’s playoff chances. “Orangefield will certainly be fired up for us, not just because its a rivalry game but it has playoff hopes riding on it, really for both teams,†explained Tarver. “Three losses in this district will be tough to overcome and it may not get you in. The next couple weeks will tell the tale, especially for us with Orangefield this week and Kirbyville next week.†Besides the players on the Bridge City sideline, Morrison has a lot of respect for Tarver and what the fifth-year head Cardinal has done for the red and white. “When you talk about about the Bridge City program and Coach Tarver, that is something you try to model,†said Morrison. “That team has gone through a lot of adversities and him and his staff have done a tremendous job this season.â€

Liberty VS. Cleveland Who wins and why
Ulrich von Lichtenstein replied to BIGD 50's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Well, this thread seems to have been hijacked by all the talk about Barbers Hill, but here are my thoughts on Liberty-Cleveland... This year's Panther squad is as weak as I've ever seen Liberty put on the field. Anyone who played the quality Liberty teams of the past few years knew that you'd best have it strapped on tight when you played them. This year, not so much. That being said...Liberty still gets healthy tonight by pounding what evidently is a God-awful Cleveland outfit. It looks like once again Cleveland's best athletes are too busy bouncing a roundball to mess around with a pigskin. Liberty 34 Cleveland 3 -
Ozen at Nederland predictions
piratefan replied to Bobcatfan4life's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
and you was just on another thread dogging us about talking trash..grow up man..if you are going to talk the noise then dont cry about when people do it to you -
check out the boards dude, its more than one person... And I would love to know how you figured that Nederland fans trash talk more than Vidor fans... There is a difference in having an opinion and trash talking... Opinions are ok, everyone has them. Trash talking, however, makes you look immature and ignorant. I am not singleing out Vidor, you guys do that to yourself by your remarks...I am just sick of Vidor fans being immature and acting like theyve never won a game before, I mean I know it doesnt happen often, but at least act like it does...And by the way, if Nederland sucks so bad this year, then why is it such a big deal for Vidor to beat us????
-
I hate to tell you this but Nederland isn't much better, next time you lose act like you've lost before, don't make excuses. Not everyone from Vidor is like the people on this board. I have never said anything negative about another team on here unless someone says something about our team first. Your statements prove that you think just because your a MC team everything should go your way, well it doesn't work like that. Fans from Nederland are just as bad, or even worse, than Vidor fans. Every town has good fans and bad fans who like to trash talk so stop singling Vidor out. Learn how to support your team and not run down others or make excuses because one fan from Vidor trash talks. Good luck to all teams tonight. GoDogs you are the worst about being hypocritical. Grow up just a little bit and remember that two wrongs don't make a right but it sure does make both of you look like two incompetant clowns. I have no problem with any fans on here, you take things too personal. Get over it.

I love the fact that the PNGPURPLE and NEDBULLDOG still want to talk about the past!! The past is great and your two teams have been Good teams in the past. But talk about that at your coffe shops or reunions. THIS YEAR TALK ABOUT THIS YEAR!!! Lets face facts both of yall have a loss already and you still have to play three of the better teams in this district. Both of yall could easly end the season with 4 loses!! my advice to all the png fans and the young men coming to LUMBERTON Friday night is BRING IT, BRING IT FAST, BRING IT HARD AND BRING IT FOR FOUR QUARTERS. Because if you dont you will go home and talk about the one that got away. I can promise the Young Men under the Raider Helments will BRING IT ALL NIGHT LONG!!!! Just ask the JV they just lost after being up by two scores in the fourth. Your team will walk off the field win or lose and say that isn't the same old RAIDERS that used to lay down in the past. We may not be the best team in this district but we have played them already and everyone else just gets smaller and slower. We have better Kids and better Coaches than ever before so come watch the show but what ever you do dont leave IT at home BRING IT!!!!!!!! -

Just forget about it guys. "SilsbeeD" I did not say anyone was talking smack,i said i wish they would talk smack instead of everyone trying so hard not to hurt feelings.. Bottom line they should have picked someone else for such a festive night!!!! I figure if we can handle these offensive and defensive lines with such a size difference......then that will be the last time we hear about someone lining up and running over us. Good luck Silsbee.....it will be entertaining to say the least!!

Is it LOGICAL to go through your schedule and pick the BEST(by far) team on your schedule for your homecoming game? I was trying to find out if it was done on purpose as motivation or something,or if they just drew it out of a hat or whatever. Is it logical for a Silsbee fan to talk noise after seeing what WO-S has done to their other opponents? NO! But yet and still they do it on a daily basis. Regardless of what anyone says most teams do not pick their toughest opponent for hc. Oh and BH89 i liked that response. Talk a little noise....im tired of the logical babble.

Never heard of a Donkey stomp.....but i would sure like to see it!! In past years WO-S has played down to the level of some opponents, and made some games closer than they should be. This year WO-S is doing what a great team does to inferior opponents. I mean no one wants to compare common opponents, but 6 yards of offense speaks for itself. I have no ill will toward Silsbee, and i wish them the best..........just not this week. Lets pray for no injuries,no fan altercations and a good clean...win! P.S. Silsbee in the words of the great T.O."Bring ya popcorn" and get ready for the greatest show on earth!! (i had to talk a little smack) -

lol......im thinkin nederland just beter get past ozen....and face dayton before they talk some trash......but i think we match up with central pretty well....they have more speed...we have more size.....and our offense should do good against this deffence...they have a hard time stoppin the run attack up the middle...so it should be a good game
