Yep.. someone gonna be eating a lot of crow.  ;)
That's a normal meal for Vidor fans, they just got the taste of real meat last year and now they think they are a powerhouse. It happens every year, after a long hot summer of backyard tackle football they enter the season thinking they are NFL prospects. Then they scrimmage there first 2A JV team of the season and find out little Johnny ain't so fast and Jimbo ain't so big.  ;D
 2.
Oh while Dayton was naping this week BH gained 2 more district titles in boys and girls track ;D Dayton ended up second to last. How can you suck a track whey you have ALL OF THAT SPEED we always here about?
Congrats on 2 more titles! We never are that fast its the purple that makes everyone think we are fast.
And before last year Vidor hadn't won a playoff game in 46 years but that didn't really change much. Keep relying on your history man. Crosby and Montgomery did and see where it got them.  8)
What's Vidors record against Dayton????????? ::)
Not that it has any bearing on the coming season, chances are we won't play Vidor anyway. But, our reocrd since 2006 (which was the first year were in there district) against Vidor is as follows: 2006 Dayton 42/Vidor 7 2007 Dayton 40/Vidor 0 2009 (Bi-District) Dayton 28/Vidor 14

How long should they be and what exactly are coaches/recruiters looking for? Any positive insight or suggestions is appreciated.....
If your sons school uses hudl they make it real easy to make a highlight video.
 5.
Best of my memory we will Not play Angleton,Aldine Eisenhower. However we will play 20-4a Livingston in pre-dist.Adding another 19-4 dist opponent to total 9 teams means Dayt will play 1 less pre-dist team w/1 week open.As to the order I do not know but I expect some thurs night varsity games @ Turner in Humble(shared stadium) 8)
Humble HS website shows Dayton playing at Turner Stadium on Thursday Oct. 11th.

 7. I nominate puddleofmud! Can I get a second on that?
 8. I was told Dayton starts district with Crosby and ends with Summer Creek. Don't know the in between schedule. [s]Our pre-district stays the same.[/s] Apparently not.  ;D
 9.
Anyone got Dayton's schedule yet?
Don't think they have released them yet. I do know that district starts with Crosby and ends with Summer Creek.

I congratulate both communities and agree that you are deserving of your own thread.  May the Hill be Real and let the Broncos keep it fertile.  ;D ;D
As a Moderator I felt it was my duty to spare the rest of the SETXsports forum community the mental  anguish it has already caused and it would eventually cause.  ;D
 11.
THANK GOD WE NOW HAVE A HOME  ;D ;D ;D ;D I would like to kick it of by saying DAYTON SUCKS and they are not allowed in our dollar store because they are toothless and have bad plastic surgery ;)
I really chuckled hard when I this, I almost lost my lunch. By the way the plastic surgery reference was directed at BH, plastic surgery in Dayton is fixing the liner on your above ground pool with JB weld or liqiud nails.
 12. Moderators please move all threads that have been Hi-Jacked by Dayton and BH fans to here! This thread is the home of momma jokes, family dollar jokes, toothless jokes, plastic surgery, etc... Basically all things BH and Dayton.

They also seamed to get better as the season progressed each year and played there best ball at playoff time. These are both signs of a well coached team.  I agree he will need a good DC hire though. I like the WB hire.
One of the unfortunate things for Flanigan/Crosby's playoff records was, that they had to play Dayton in the first round. I know what this sounds like but hear me out, if they had drawn another opponent those years they may have made deeper runs. The record books may look a lot different if that wasn't the case.
::) A cheap opportunity to plug in Dayton  ::)
May I correct that----ANOTHER cheap--------- ;D
I knew how it sounded when I typed it, it wasn't my intention but its true. @Bluedduck your comment was just another cheap attempt to hate on Dayton. Thats OK, you gotta get your shots where you can. ;)

 15.
... There was no interaction between Head Coach and his kids, or the community, and it was painfully evident to everyone in the BH program.  He expected winners but didn't inspire kids to win.
If by "the community" you mean BH parents, I understand distancing himself. The suggestions and advice came in abundance, I'm sure. If Gage has any sense he'll disengage from "the community" as well.
 16.
The Anahuac Refuge has been charging a fee on the East Unit for quite a few years now..
Yes, but the comment was about Duck stamp revenue and what it is supposed to be allocated to, point is the purchase of a duck stamp does not give you access to hunting land.
 17. If you send Bob recent pics he will update the stadium photos.
 18.
Funny how people who have actually been a part of Haynes' programs speak facts about the type of coach he really is, and this incognito guy who is speculating suddenly doesn't have anything to say.
Well said, I have heard the same about Haynes, disciplined and solid man.
 19.
There are more jobs available already this year than last year total it seems.  Lots of HC turnover- wonder if the college type pressure of win now is trickling down into the High School level.  Drew Starnes is of great TX high School coaching legacy(his Dad Ernie was coach at CE King when they were an absolute pwoerhouse in the late 80's early 90's) and is OC at Kingwood now- wonder if he has a shot.
Coach Starnes is the real deal but I doubt he is looking to be a head coach this late in the game.

 21.
p.s. i just pulled out my program... What is Dayton Smoking? We do return 11 Starters even according to the program.
I hate to say it but, the truth Crosby has plenty of talent and weapons to be very good next year. I don't care how many starters come back. The most productive members of Crosby's team are good solid kids that will develop into great leaders. That in itself should be enough to cause concern for the rest of 19-4A. (Time to put my purple glasses back on) Crosby still has no chance of beating Dayton, last year was their best chance for the foreseeable future. But, in the words of Everett Hitch(Appaloosa 2008) "Life has a way of making the foreseeable that which never happens, and the unforeseeable what your life becomes".
 22.
go check out octfeb post about stats vs aligment,,anyway bh could only do that when they were a widdle school  ;D
BH recents list of Football Highlights: 1. Winning District its first year in 4A. 2. Beating Dayton last year. 3. Watching Dayton represent their district after Week 1 of the playoffs.
 23.

Carranco's accomplishments are great but remember he had more opportunities due to alot of stalled drives. We were still lacking a big power back that can get 3-4 yds on 3rd down.Powell was a great kicker to but we were able to score more tds.All you have to do is the math on this past years rushing totals, lawd I'm glad we had Herrera throwing on the run then running for crucial 1st down yds.We will need to ramp up the run game and play solid defense this coming year ;)
first you compare ah to cody green and now powell to carranco. You are starting to worry me didnt powell kick with a boot. Also who was the big power back in 07 j gable was good but far from big
John Gable nor his predecessor Michael Dugat were big but they were strong. By the way Gable is at ETBU, he started this semester. Looking forward to seeing him play again.
 24.
Tired of all this Dayton is the best talk. BH is concerned about their student athletes.  We want them to be sucessful in college and life.  Many Dayton players could not survive in BHISD.  From the academic requirements, to the drug testing policy; how many Purple ponies would even get to see the field.  BH wins in everthing - from athletics to academics.  Don't hate on success.  Whats after Football?; For well-educated Eagles, the sky is the limit.
My interpretation of the above submitted comment: BH is floating high above...blah blah blah...BH hallways are full of little Tebows...blah blah blah...If a BH parent says it, it has to be true...blah blah...Botox laden Football moms = Winning Seasons...blah blah blah. Dayton is the debil.  :'(
