1. Colby went 2 for 4 with a double, hbp, 3 rbi, and 2 runs scored in a non conference game at McMurry University today. Ranger is now 16 - 14 on the season.
 2. Colby Henscey - Ranger College - (Barbers Hill 2009) Colby went 5 for 5 with 4 walks, 2 doubles, a triple, 5 RBIs, 4 runs scored, and 2 stolen bases and also had another diving catch in the left center gap yesterday in a doubleheader sweep against North Central Texas College. Leads the team with a .483 batting average for the season.

Colby currently leads the team with a .483 batting average for the season.
 4.
So much for the non-composite bats limiting the number of HR's this year.
I don't think anyone that knows the rule changes thought the home runs would drop off in high school this year. Next year is when you'll get the drop off when the BBCOR bat standards hit the high school level.
 5.
Proud papa.....and rightly so. Great job ! I'll try to get the spelling right next time.  ;)
Sad thing is it's usually the last name that people misspell, somehow you manage to screw up the first name. Must have something to do with having a kid with a name that starts with a "K". ;D You know Colby, it'll take more than a misspelled name to bother him at this point in the game!
 6. The second game against Brookhaven got even better for Colby. He went 1 for 3 with 2 walks, 2 runs scored, stole 3rd base in top of the 7th and scored the go ahead run which Brookhaven ended up tying in the btm of the 7th. Then in the btm of the 8th with 2 outs and 2 on for Brookhaven, Colby makes a game saving diving catch on the left field line on what looked like a game winning walk off double. Top of the 9th Colby rips a line drive into right center which would end up being the game winning run. Colby had a great 4 game series ( 6 for 12, 4 RBI, Triple, 6 runs, 3 steals, 3 walks, HBP, 2 diving catches) and what made it even better was mom and dad were fortunate enough to be there to see it! Ranger went 3 - 1 in the 4 games. Now 6 - 2 on the season. Thanks for the compliments everyone. I'll pass them on to Colby! It's great to see him back on the field again! ;D ;D
 7. Never doubted Kendall for one minute when this report surfaced. Anyone that knows him and his family knew from the beginning that the allegations were false. I hate that Kendall, you and your family had to go through this nightmare, but I am glad that it all worked out in the end. God is good! Now take a deep breath and enjoy some baseball!!!! ;D ;D
 8.

Of course, I would NEVER complain about the officiating  8)
Of course you wouldn't because that bald-headed refs was from Barbers Hill and didn't really see any penalties unless they were dressed in Purple. IMO it was a biased game. That's okay we can solve that problem when y'all come to Dayton.
If you couldn't win with this officiating crew, including the bald headed one who made most of the calls for your team, your not going to win in Dayton with you yourself calling the game! It doesn't get any more lopsided than it was last night. My guess would be that 35 of your 51 points came from the free throw line, maybe more. And your right, it was a biased game, your just obviously not smart enough to realize in who's favor! Does a 38 - 20 foul count in favor of Dayton ring a bell?  ??? ??? ???
If you read posts from above: D. Wood threw 89-92 this summer and C. Erwin on a loose arm threw 91-94 this summer. Says so on my radar gun.
I think your gun needs calibrating.  ;)
The games improved since your son has been playing. BH is bringing in a lot more kids and have a lot more talent
First, my son only graduated in 2008......not too long ago   ??? ??? ???. I can promise you the '07 & '08 teams had plenty of talent , more than last year's....and that's not a knock on last year's team. 5 pitchers on the '08 team went on to pitch at the next level. Hales, Thamm, Silva, Kelley, and Burditt. I hope these kids are throwing as well as you say. It's just not what I'm hearing from the contacts I have at the high school, select team, Juco, D1, and MLB scouting burea levels.....and from a couple of D1 recruiters. One from a university that you mentioned in your pm. Coach Denny had a gun on the kids that are in the baseball offseason within the last month. No one was over 86....and that wasn't from either of the two that you mention....one of which is not in the offseason program. I've been around the baseball recruiting and  the MLB draft deals long enough to know if you are a senior touching 94....you are already signed w/ at least a JuCO and more than likely a D1, or both, and scouts are around you thicker than thieves...even if you only played select ball your junior year. Second, the growth rate in Barbers Hill is primarily at the primary school level. The enrollment figures for BH from the last 2 UIL classifiactions did not change all that much. With that said,  best of luck to the BH Eagles and Coach Denny.
Your spot on with this post EAGLE07 and I agree completely. And to you 24baseball24. I don't know who you are but I have a pretty good idea. I'll offer you a little advice and you can take it for what it's worth. You are obviously someone who is a big fan of both of these kids and I can respect that, or someone that is throwing both of these kids purposely under the bus, which if this is the case I have no respect for you at all. The problem with what you have done is that you are trying to downplay and discredit the accomplishments of current teammates and past players of the Barbers Hill baseball program while at the same time trying to embellish the abilities of these two kids. I hope and pray for the sake of C. Erwin and D. Wood that they can live up to the expectations that you have set for them on this forum when baseball season rolls around in the spring. You have either blatantly or unknowingly set these 2 kids up for both failure and ridicule from their teammates and opponents before they even have a chance to get started. I really hope your radar gun was accurate! If not these 2 kids may be in for a really miserable senior year thanks to you!
I know for a fact that these two have pitched it in the summer. And Denny did have a gun on them when they threw from center feild to home plate which is a different then a pitch. And d. Wood threw 89 from that distants. For the 07 08 season it haS been one of the best teams that had came threw bh in a long time but couldn't even make it past the first round. Obviously not to good. These two kids are great kids throwing the ball hard and hitting their spots. Keep up the good work you are putting in. Don't have to listen to the hatred at bh from past dads
First of all I haven't seen any past dads showing any hatred at BH. I for one am a past and current dad who just doesn't understand what your trying to accomplish. If you haven't noticed by now, I don't think anyone believes a word your saying and your posts are getting more and more unbelievable. Your bashing and trying to discredit the accomplishments of other current and former players isn't going to help get Irwin and Wood on the field this year. It would appear to most that read this post that 24baseball24 is either C. Irwin or D. Wood trying to make himself and his buddy look good. Soooo, do C. Irwin and D. Wood a favor and quit talking about them. If they are as good as you say, their play will speak for itself when the baseball season get's here! They don't need your help. By the way, you need to know that if your only throwing 89 from the outfield with a crow hop, odds are your probably not going to bust 85 from the mound much less 92! Your numbers aren't matching up very well.

 12. Now that's some funny crap!!!! ;D ;D ;D I laughed almost as hard looking at that picture as I did the day that it happened!
 13.
Doesnt matter who they decide on. As soon as he doesnt win state he will be persecuted.
I wouldn't say that. Stalbaum made it 23 years and left on his own terms without winning state and he wasn't persecuted.

I don't think you get anyone to hang around for 20+ years if it's as bad as you say. They won't have to search long and they won't have to search hard. And that is not a knock on Coach Stalbaum. This is a job that I believe many people will want. Whoever gets this job will have talent to work with from the word go, and the talent will be there year after year as it always has been. He'll be paid well, he'll have first class facilities, and he'll be working for a first class AD. Heck, wish I could coach, made myself want to apply!  ;D ;D

 18.
Scott Vaughn dropped at fly ball to allow KP to tie it in the 7th, then hits a walkoff to end it.  I would say he redeemed himself with that HR.
That is sweet redemption. Doesn't happen like that too often.
