7. I said it last year and I'll say it again. I hate the 1 game playoff. One mistake can end your season!

Anyway you guys have short memories, our 19-4A Co-MVPs came from 3rd place Crosby and 4th place C.E. King last year. Trust me, it can happen and it did. ;D
Big difference Illijah Short was the best athlete in the district with one of the best batting averages.  He beat teams with his stick, speed and could play any position on the field.  Every team in this district I'm sure thinks they have MVP'S (plural) on their respective teams. There are alot of good players in this district. But he is doing a great job and I was impressed with his composre when we played them.  Keep up the hard work.
The kid was a descent player but not the MVP come on! BH had the best pitcher who had 1 district loss BH also had the best hitter with 7 long balls and a 390 BA in district What they did not have was there coach pushing for them
If I recall correctly, not one of those selections was unamimous. So in reality the MVP could have been elected with 2 votes TOTAL. Short was somewhat of a suprise to me too, but you could justify his selection by the coaches. He probably had the most VALUE to his team than any other player. It's not the Most Valuable Winning Player.
It's also not a TEAM MVP we're talking about. I would think District MVP would go to the best player in the district. I do agree he was King's team MVP, but not the best player in the district. If a player can get this award with only 2 of 8 votes then something is wrong with the system. I would think a majority would be a must. I personally don't know for sure how it works. But if that is the case, it would explain how this could happen.
 9.
Good point, never snapped to that.  I just know back in the day, the District Champion 9 out of 10 times had the MVP.   The MVP of 19-4A is a different topic, I think every team has a case for a few of its players on why they feel they should be MVP,  as far as the team to beat, as of this week it is KWP. This may all change by this Friday night.  With the way district play is going you better take one game at a time and not look ahead.
I think both BH and KP had more than one deserving candidate last year as District Co-Champs but for some reason they were overlooked. I'm just saying don't count anyone out as MVP. You never know what's going to happen when the coaches vote. I personally believe it should come from the District Champs unless someone has an unbelievable year such as a Randal Grichuk from Lamar Consolidated last year. Two of the top three individual awards went to the 3rd place team last year in 19-4a. I do agree that KP is the team to beat right now.
 10.
It could happen RIP but I dont see BH in the 3rd or 4th spot. More like battleing Dayton for the 5th spot.
I would have argued that BH would battle for the 4th spot, but after the weekend adventures things got a lot tougher. Not giving up on 'em but you may be right. :-[

 12.
Do ya'll think that Crosby took CE King too lightly? I mean isn't Hebert the #3 starter at best? I do not think the wheels are coming off, they have just lived on the edge for most of Round 1. Finally caught up to them last night. They still had the bases loaded in the 7th with an opportunity to win. The team that scares me the most is K Park. Playoff experienced and not afraid to play in the big games.
I do think Crosby thought King would be an easy win but it is a little surprising after getting shutout by GP the game before. I would have expected them to come ready to play. I think there may be more going on than we can see from the outside. The K-Park game is going to be huge for Crosby. Should be a good one but with the way Crosby has played of late, I've got to go with K-Park.
 13. Big win for the BH boys. Another great complete game outing from Leggett who was helped with some clutch hitting from Tyler Lyday (3-3 with 3 doubles) and Blake Bonnin with 2 clutch 2 out hits with runners in scoring position driving in 3 runs. Congrats on the win! ;D
 14.
Michael Martinez gets the CG win. 5 innings, 5 k's, 2 hits, 1 BB Price Jacobs  4-4, 3 HR (7th,8th,9th) 4 rbi, (intentionaly walked last AB) Chance Czerwonka 3 run HR (6th) Jacob Wilburn 3 run HR (5th) Now it's time to get in this race!
Congrats on a big night for the kids, especially Price. Don't get too excited about the win though, it is North Forest! ;)
 15.
C E King  8 Crosby     7 FINAL
Ouch! What a huge upset! Didn't see that one coming. 2 losses in row. Sounds like the Coogs my be in a little trouble. Who pitched for Crosby?
 16. Ouch. Not surprised with who won, GP has a good team, but I didn't expect the Goose to go down easy. I thought this would have been a good game.
 17. Asbury started. Young in relief. I believe Thompson coming in next.
