1. So was it classless for the Ozen players to be talking trash to some of the BH fans the night before during the game against Clear Falls? Talking about how BH was next? Maybe but obviously not very smart. Or is it classless to walk off the court before the winning team is announced after the game? I think that's more classless myself but would have never mentioned it before you 2 idiots spoke up. Teenagers don't always make good decisions but you can't always control what they do. Don't get on here bashing the BH girls when you don't know them and you obviously don't pay attention to what your own girls are doing. It amazes me that people will turn their heads to what their own kids are doing but bash someone else for doing something similar. I don't like any of the trash talking myself but if your gonna talk it you better expect a little in return!
2. I'm assuming Long is throwing against Klein Collins? That would be a great early season match up to watch with the great hitters in that lineup.
3. This is straight off the Marucci website: DECERTIFICATION ONLY APPLIES TO THE 33-INCH MARUCCI CAT52 BBCOR. ALL OTHER CAT52 SIZES AND MARUCCI MODELS ARE APPROVED FOR PLAY. On February 17, 2012, the NCAA informed us that they decertified the 33-inch Marucci CAT52 BBCOR bat. The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) has adopted the NCAA’s ruling at the high school level. Effective immediately, the 33” Marucci CAT52 BBCOR bat will not be allowed for use in NCAA or NFHS baseball competition. Sounds to me like the ban is already in effect for both college and high school according to Marucci.

7. Scorpions Split Doubleheader with UH-Victoria; Now 4-2 for Year Baseball - 10:00 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2012 UTB/TSC and The University of Houston-Victoria split a doubleheader Friday at Scorpion Field to start a four-game series. UTB/TSC won the opener, 9-0, but dropped the nightcap, 7-4.\ The Scorpions are now 4-2 for the year while the Jaguars are 1-1. The two teams will meet in another doubleheader at noon Saturday at Scorpion Field. Saturday's games were originally scheduled for 1 p.m., but moved up one hour because of expected rain late Saturday afternoon. Scorpions 9, Jaguars 0 (first game) Cory Young pitched five innings of three-hit shutout baseball and improved his record to 2-0. Young, who has not given up a run in 11.2 innings, struck out eight, walked three, and scattered three hits. He threw 97 pitches in the five innings. Kale Wierenga pitched a scoreless and hitless sixth inning and Salvador Villalpando closed out the game with a scoreless seventh, allowing one hit. Colby Henscey went 2-for-3, including a two-run homer that cleared the 50-foot-high net in left field. Joel Fernandez also had a solo homer for the first Scorpion run in the second inning. Henscey, Zach Cordia, K.J. Semien and Fernandez each had two hits. Matt Ginn had two RBI on a two-run single. The Scorpions scored one run in the second, three in the third, four in the fourth and once in the fifth.
8. Scorpions Sweep Doubleheader from Doane College, 4-3, 7-2 Baseball - 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012 Saturday was a good day for Scorpion baseball. Juan Munoz and Brad Regehr came through in the clutch with run-scoring hits in the first game and Adam Vera turned in an outstanding complete game pitching performance in the second game to pace UTB/TSC to a 4-3, 7-2 doubleheader sweep over Doane College (Neb.) Saturday at Scorpion Field. "Overall, it was an outstanding weekend by our pitching staff," Scorpion head coach Bryan Aughney said. "They threw great in all four games. You can't ask for anything more than that. Even in the one we lost, Marcos (de Leon) gave up three unearned runs." The first three games between the Scorpions and Tigers, both of whom received votes in the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 poll, were one-run games. UTB/TSC won the opener Thursday, 1-0, and Doane won Friday's game, 3-2.  Saturday's second game was a one-run game until the sixth inning, when the Scorpions broke the game open. "We played very clean defensively all weekend," Aughney said. "We made a couple of errors here and there, but they didn't cost us. Offensively, we got things going in the final game and scored some runs. Doane is a very good team and has very good pitching. It was well-played baseball. We're excited to come out of there 3-1. We have some work to do and we understand that, and we're ready to get after it and get on with the season." Scorpions 7, Tigers 2 (second game) In seven innings, Vera's numbers were solid. He allowed four hits, struck out two and walked two. But what really stood out was his pitch count. He needed only 79 pitches in the seven innings, throwing 55 strikes and 24 balls. He threw only six pitches in the second inning, five pitches in the third inning, and six pitches in the sixth inning. UTB/TSC broke open a tight 3-2 game with four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Colby Henscey and Ricardo Alanis had run-scoring hits, and Robert J. Garza was hit by pitch with the bases loaded to score another run. Munoz added a sacrifice fly for the final run. Doane scored once in the first to take a 1-0 lead before the Scorpions scored twice in the third and once in the fourth to take a 3-1 lead. The Tigers cut the margin to 3-2 in the fifth before the sixth-inning outburst. Colby Henscey led the Scorpions with a 3-for-3 day, and walked in his other plate appearance. He also drove in two runs, as did Zach Cordia and Munoz.  Kyle Douglass and Scott Frazier each scored twice.
9. Scorpions Complete Sweep of LCC in Scrimmages, 14-11, 4-2 Baseball - 7:10 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2012 UTB/TSC won two scrimmage baseball games over Laredo Community College, 14-11 and 4-2, Sunday at Scorpion Field in the final preparation games for the Scorpions before the start of the regular season Thursday. The Scorpions won all four scrimmage games over the Palominos. On Saturday, UTB/TSC won both games by scores of 4-0 and 4-3.   UTB/TSC opens the regular season with a four-game series against Doane College (Neb.) Thursday through Saturday, Jan. 26-28. Opening Day 2012 will be held at 6 p.m. when the Scorpions and Tigers start their series. Scorpions 14, Palominos 11 (first game) In the only wild game of the series, UTB/TSC saw a 6-0 lead disappear as LCC scored six in the fifth inning to tie the game, 6-6. The Scorpions responded with eight runs in the next two innings to take a 14-6 lead that shrunk to the final 14-11 margin in the seventh inning. UTB/TSC used five pitchers. Matt Ginn went 3-for-3 with two doubles, driving in two runs. Kyle Douglass had a three-run double in the third inning and a two-run single in the fifth inning for five RBI. Zach Cordia and Robert J. Garza each had two hits and Juan Munoz blasted a solo homer. Douglass and K.J. Semien each scored twice. Scorpions 4, Palominos 2 (second game) Three Scorpion pitchers combined to hold LCC to five hits. Mitch Schaafsma allowed one run in the first four innings, Austin Bickerton allowed one in the next two innings, and Brody Chamberlain pitched a scoreless seventh inning. Colby Henscey provided the offensive spark with a two-run homer and triple. His homer in the first inning went about 420 feet over the center field wall, scoring Robert J. Garza, who had singled. Garza, who also had two hits, drove in a run in the fourth inning. The Scorpions had six hits.
10. Scorpions Cruise to 14-2 Win over Alumni in Annual Game Baseball - 10:30 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2012 Rory Young, Marcos De Leon and Salvador Villalpando combined for a no-hitter and struck out 18 alumni as the 2012 UTB/TSC Scorpions waltzed to a 14-2 win over the Alumni Friday at Scorpion Field. The 2012 Scorpions will play Laredo Community in four scrimmage games this weekend, with doubleheaders scheduled at 4 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. UTB/TSC opens the regular season with a four-game series against Doane College (Neb.) Jan. 26-28, starting with a single game at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26. Twenty-six former players who played at Texas Southmost College or UTB/TSC as Scorpions participated, including Oscar Gallegos, who was a member of the 1979 Scorpion squad. Young pitched the first four innings, struck out seven and walked one. He allowed two unearned runs in the first inning when Tony Lerma's fly ball to left field was misplayed, and two runs scored. De Leon went the next four innings, striking out nine and walking two. Villalpando pitched the ninth inning, and struck out two of the three batters he faced. Scorpion hitters collected 12 hits, two each by Peter Maldonado, Colby Henscey, Joel Fernandez, Robert Mariscal, and  Scott Frazier. Henscey drove in five runs, Mariscal four and Fernandez three. Henscey and Zach Cordia scored three times each.
11. For what it's worth my older son is in his sophomore year of college and he is swinging the Rawlings 5150. He used theTPX Omaha last year and hated it. He started off this year using a Nike until they got the new bats. He tried the Rip It (2012) and liked the Nike better until he got his hands on the Rawlings 5150. Really likes the feel and sound of the bat and it has plenty of pop when you square it up!

13. Great win Eagles! Completely outplayed a team most thought you couldn't compete with. Great pitching from Thames, Thompson, & Leggett keeping Nederland off balance all night. I can only remember a couple of hard hit balls and they were both foul. Things are looking good with Long on the mound tonight! Good luck!
14. Last update I got BH was up 5 - 3 top of the 6th. Still waiting for the final.
15. My thoughts are neither coach really wants to face Nederland in the first round so they are willing to play the extra game. You'll still get 4 full days of rest before the playoffs because it probably won't start until Thursday night.
16. It is cheap entertainment. It can get pretty comical at times. Some people get on here just to mess with other posters. That's what happens when you get on these forums. You can't get an attitude if someone get's on you. You've got to take the good with the bad.
17. Easy there Blablabla. People on this site love it when they see blood in the water.

If GCM wins district Czerwonka in my book lands district MVP.  What he has done on the mound, and at the plate is pretty impressive.  Still do not see any team going undefeated the rest of district, but think GCM has the ball in their court.
IDK.  All districts are funny. coaches vote on bias.  Last year Gabby was 10-0 and did not get MVP or Def MVP. he got 1st team pitcher. :( :(  Merka in football last year was undefeated district champ and gets No supers as well!  :o :o.  this year gets 2nd team qb! WOW!! Gabby is not only the most feared pitcher in 19 4A but is also batting .411. IMO he is MVP of district
Whoever wins the district will get the MVP. IMO
Like I said, It does not always work that way.  look at the majors.  the MVP usually is not on the one who wins the world series.  I think it should go to the most talented... that is why it is called MVP (Most Valuable PLAYER) not most valuable team..
From my past experience, the MVP has come from the 1st place team in 19-4A. Did not say it was fair or even an accurate choice. Just the way it is.
In 2009 you had Co-MVPs that came from the 3rd and 4th place team in 19-4A. Mangum from Crosby and Short from C.E. King. And although both players were good, you had several players on the top 2 teams that were overlooked that were just as deserving if not more. You never know what's going to happen in that meeting with those coaches and all the differing opinions. I think there are always some surprises on the list.
21. So sorry to hear this. We will keep the family in our prayers.
