Are we able to watch the UIL meeting tomorrow? I am curious how this is going to play out.

The Oilers are on fire right now. Hard to beat a team that has things going in the right direction. Strength of schedule is definitely lop-sided here.

Bringing up all-time matchup or past record will get you absolutely dragged on here. HD is a fraction of a fraction of what they once were.. and very likely never returning. Enjoy the past successes, and root for your team and/or kids for sure, but it's completely irrelevant when talking about the "good old days". Zero kids on the team were even born when HD won its last football playoff game.
It is not the all-time record that wins the game however, the WH parents have been a part of beatdowns given to them from HD. If I am correct, WH has beaten HD only 11 times in history. Two of those were in the past 4 years. Anyway ... it's that fact that HD is WH's daddy and all of the Oiler crowd knows it. And THAT is what changes the mindset here. I never said that the great team from 1979 was going to play this Friday.

Doesn't HD lead the all-time matchup by a considerable margin? WH probably waits for this game and usually fails but HD overlooks because WH doesn't have much fight to give the Bobcats. However, I think this year, the tables are turned. WH has looked better than HD but like I said above ... don't count the Bobcats out yet. I think they surprise the Oilers this week and this ballgame will be a good one to watch!

West Hardin is only 7 point favorites in the polls that matter. That makes much more sense. This is like a Cotton Bowl or Iron Bowl. All records are out the window ... HD vs WH is the BIGGEST game of the year!

Hull-Daisetta is about to surprise some folks. Don't count them out just yet.

KIPP schools are synonymous for cancelling and they will do it last minute ESPECIALLY if it has to do with a road game. I agree .... leave them off of the schedule! It's not worth the headache. However, what is the story with Colmesneil? Why did they cancel?

I’ll let Coach Taylor make that announcement but he’s leaving the area. They’re already interviewing for this position according to my source.
-
89Falcon is right. He’s taking another coaching job. Sounds and looks like the whole coaching staff is gone. That’s typical in a smaller school though. Bulldogs are looking for a whole staff!
-
Probably going into insurance like all coaches tend to do. Our education system is failing more and more. Sad to see.

Probably won't see it posted. It's filled

This job is already filled

Not sure if it’s official yet
When do they expect to hire? Schools almost over.

Sounds like you should have actually applied instead of just posting about it. That said you wouldnt get 65 because you wouldnt be the AD. They gave that to the basketball coach. Also they already hired someone.
They hired? Who?

Looks like it is HFC and a second sport. Assistant principal is the AD? That is never a good formula.

Are they looking for a football coach?

And that’s fine everybody has their own opinion we can agree to disagree. But to me it’s pretty cut and dry, when they moved on from Boyd, which was necessary and time for, they hired someone from his staff and kept all of the same coaches. The reason for letting him go/him resigning, was because the performance and record had fallen off it was time for a change. But change does not come unless everything is changed including the coaching staff. If you have a program where they’re losing and have that instilled in them Bc that’s all they’ve known, Then what makes anything change if the recipe stays the same. When you change head coaches the entire regime needs to go In order for total change to happen and a new philosophy combined with a new culture is required. By not doing this you set the program back by 4 years. Take Lee for example, they cleaned house brought in Finn and he’s turning that program around. They have fewer numbers than GCM and although they can’t stop a lot of people from scoring, they routinely score 40+ a game and remain competitive if not entertaining throughout. GCM has struggled to put quality units on the field for 4yrs under current regime. It’s not the coaches fault Bc they were set up for failure, the program needs a shot in the arm, to bring out more kids to the program and an overall make over to attract more talent. The kids put in a lot of work and should be commended, but another area of concern is the coaching at the junior high level. 99% of our kids at a certain jr high, can’t tell you what a 3 technique or lining up in a 7 or 9 means. And then you play the likes of Cunningham, North Shore MS , and they are on the sidelines, yelling for their kids to change into different techniques to adjust for the offensive alignment and they do it immediately. Our kids are at a disadvantage from the time they walk in to the high school doors districtwide. The high school coaches have to teach all these things when I get there because they weren’t taught in junior high immediately putting them behind the eight ball. You have to start from the bottom and go to the top with culture change and that’s what it’s going to take the kids to be successful. End of discussion
You seem to have a pretty good grip on what's going on within this entire district and seem to have all of the answers. Sounds like you need to go to the athletic director with all of your concerns and remedies and convince him to hire you to fix the Baytown issue. You've got my vote!

Crosby wins . . . BH will choke although they have a perfect opportunity to get a win over the Coogs.
-
This will be a great game but Buna has to keep up! Cannot let the Bucs get up by multiple scores or it's out of reach.
-
Splendora is better than what many think. Huffman loses this game . . . odd year.

LCM rolls here

Indians win this one. When the kids are playing for something bigger than theirselves it just hard to overcome. #SantaFeStrong

So . . . I was right about New Caney beating the Titans and New Caney has the district championship in hand as long as Porter behaves and doesn't play spoiler. Now I am going to say that Kingwood Park has a real shot at beating PAM. I know that Port Arthur faithful think that they have this one in the bag and their athletes are better than anyone else but . . . Panthers win. What you say?

Do they stay in-house for this hire or go after fresh blood?
