2.
Who ya got in this contest?
Why would anyone want to pick a winner.  Should be a real barn barner............ ;D

Sophomore year at Evadale, junior year at East Chambers, and now next year, his senior year, at Hardin-Jefferson. Who does he think he is, Troy House? I will be very surprised to see him at HJ.
I don't think you can play JV as a senior :)
Hats off to Kountze.  That was about the most exciting game I have seen in a long time.  I thought the guys on both teams left it on the court.  It's a shame they had to meet this early.  To everyone that didnt give NW a chance there is no smack talk, all I will say is I am glad the game is not played on the internet.  Go Dogs
 4. Yes it was a good game.  Noticed that Hardin did not have any seniors either.  Definitely going to be some rematches.
 5. Well I guess it all balances out then, Kountze was in NW last Friday.  Matter of fact coach even announced their presence on the microphone.  I would venture to say it was more because of having to play on Monday and not having time to practice but one day in between games if you play Friday.  Thats what I gather.  Is Kountze next game on Friday?
 6. Better check the roster before you say that. Two juniors starting and the next six are freshmen and sophomores.  JV was undefeated.
 7.
montagne center vs. TSU!!! and you choose TSU???
Play in front of 5,000 or 500.  Plus the #1 team in the state 5a, no-brainer.
 8.
38 turnovers last night by the Lions.... :( :( Looks like Devin posted his first 'QUADRUPLE-DOUBLE' in a Kountze uniform: 22 pts, 12 rebs, 10 asts, 10 TURNOVERS :(
Tell me you guys are kiddding.  Kountze turned it over 38 TIMES?
 9. Surely the arguably 2 best teams in the State would have enough confidence in their abilities to know they will win one playoff game and know who is the next game.  I don't think that really a big deal.  Its gonna happen and thats the date it's gonna happen unless the coaches decide to play on a Monday. Now if they put the score in that's different.
 10. Even worse look at their representative last year, Santa Rosa.  They got drove in the dirt by Ponder by like 40, that can't happen in the final four.
 11. He does have a good point about region 4 with 8 teams ranked.  Halletsville sounds good but they haven't played anyone with a decent record.
 12.
They must be to have Sabine ranked #8.
Thats cold man, he just came back after a long absense, don't be mean ags!
 13. 4a and 5a take four teams to the playoffs so the usually don't play warm-ups because they start play-offs that Tuesday.
I second that emotion.  New Waverly is no pushover, but Kountze can take them with their "A game". HJ had to use a superhuman effort to beat Kountze in their home gym, and everyone knows they played poorly against NW.  Only part of that poor play was due to NW's defense. Given that, Kountze cannot look at this game as a warmup for Austin either.  If they look past NW, they will get smoked.
What was the other part due to?  Lets not say Missing players because NW was missing two.
The other part was due to just poor play.... period. Sometimes your team is up and ready to play.  Sometimes they are not.  It's this one intangible that makes these games so unpredictable sometimes. For exhibit A), I give you the Minnesota Vikings...... They had their A game against Dallas making no mistakes.  Against the saints they had 5 turnovers.  Now part of that was because the Saints were everywhere on defense, but part of that was simply the Vikings fault.   The same could be said about the Cowboys in their games against Philadelphia and Minnesota.
Well, ok.  IIIIIIIII really can't give that hypothesis much backing, but that is your opinion.  Why is it that in most losses the losing team didn't play well.  Maybe we should say they got outplayed.  That's what happens in that situation, I don't think you should discredit another teams win by making an excuse like the other team didn't play well.  We all know the consequence of not playing well is............losing.  There is no asterisk by that loss on the record book, just says loss.

 16. How long does it take to get football kids in a basketball rhythm?  How much of an advantage does the non-football or few football teams have.   I think there is a definite advantage.  Football kids rarely have a chance to rest there bodies after season.  They start the day after football ends and have to go right into another season.  Sure it is done year after year by most but can you imagine the fatigue?  Basketball conditioning is alot different from football not to mention the pounding a kid that plays in the backfield would take.
 17. Matter of fact you only had 59 at halftime againt legacy.  Seems to me like the output really picked up the second half(66 pts), I can see where you guys pulled the dogs off-not! Hypocrite  Friday, December 04, 2009  Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4 Final Silsbee 33 26 37 29 125 Legacy Christian Academy 13 21 3 17 54 Man Legacy put up a fight in the 3 qtr.
 18. AAW,   you are not very smart yourself if you don't see your hypocrisy.  First of all who are you to decide what's class and  classless.  It's like saying shooting someone is worse than stabbing someone, still just as dead.  You say its how they scored it, that's how they play.  You say Silsbee didn't press the 2nd half.  WTH I'm sure they didn't need to after the first 4 minutes so is it classless to press until half time and you are up thirty.  O ok society and you says that's ok TO PRESS TILL HALFTIME EVEN IF YOU ARE UP 40!  We tried to stop, bs you don't stop ANYTHING and score 125!  Yates is 150 pts better than most teams in the nation, but they should keep their production down to make everyone else happy.
 19.
C'mon LAZEEK, 135 point wins don't just happen. Those kind of wins are forced. I can respect a 70 point win by Yates after calling off the press much more than a 135 point win and pressing the enitre game. It was just totally unnecessary. Difference between a 70 point win without pressing and 135 point win pressing the whole game, is class and respect.
12/03/09 4:00 PM @ Woodville (Woodville, TX) ** (Big Sandy) 102-49 (W)   12/04/09 11:30 AM @ Legacy Christian Academy (Beaumont, TX) ** (Big Sandy) 125-54 (W)  come on aaw at what point were these games over?  What could you have done differentlt to keep it from being 71 pts?  Why not work on your passing game, or stall game.  Did you stop shooting three's, blocking shots, and fast breaking?  125 is a lot of points, what did you have at the half?  Thats pretty dang himliating too! You  shoulda have stpped at 100!
 20.
tell me again why all HJ fans are hypocrites....just trying to get a handle on YOUR problem.
I don't have a problem.  Not a problem then or now, but read some of the post from some of your fans.  Many in this area spoke out very strongly against what YATES did.  Then it turns out that its their home team that had their record broke?  That's not the poster child for hypocrisy?  Yates 170- HJ -166 but we didn't press the whole game.  O okay that makes it ok!  I bet the kept firing three's and steepin in passing lanes.  You don't just walk on the court and score 166.  Did you have a 100 at the half, I doubt it.  So you kept doing something.  Dang sure didnt play keep away like every one says Yates should have.
