  1. Ruck--Nicholls is in Thibodeaux (which has less atmoshphere than Hammond  :D)  This game looks like a trap game.  A game against a 1-6 team in your conference is one you should win no matter where it is played.  If LU is going to win the conference they will take care of business tomorrow night.  If they trip up it could have long lasting effects the rest of the year.  Here's to Coach Roc keeping the ball rolling.  Cards by 12.

  2. Tulsa and Rice tore the field up to the tune of 1292 total yards between the two  ;D, but its field turf so I don't see what the problem would be with the field.  Unless the Rice Coach had a problem with it  ???, and they've made some "interesting" decisions this year.  The venue change may definately keep some of us "neutral" L-Train backers away  >:(

BTW - Katy vs. Memorial 1pm Sat @ Rice.... ???

  3. Can anyone let me know if there are any double headers this weekend near the Houston area? I know PNG v LC kick off at 7PM on Sat, and Lumberton v LaMarque at 7PM on Friday, is there a game before either one of these games at Stallworth??

It can be anywhere near the Houston area. Thanks for any help.

It's a shame the 'Dome can't be used, its perfect triple header weather this weekend.  Then again when is it not perfect tripleheader weather.  Texas Stadium would be the prime place to go if you didn't have your Saturday night commitment.

Also Tulsa plays @ Rice @ 2pm if you want to catch that before PNG.

  4. I have no problem with this... if you limit it to boundary plays, then it's not going to be used that often.  I watch baseball every night during the season, and these plays don't happen too often.  I would think that there might only be four or five instances a night across the entire league that this is needed, so the delays won't occur too much.  Also, if you have someone looking upstairs, they'll often know what happened before the pitcher is ready to pitch again, or before a runner is through with his homerun trot around the bases.  Also, it will help make sure that these calls are correct.  It sucks to lose a game on a HR or a ball down the line that the umpire can't really see.  Remember the snickers commercial?  Fair, or foul?

It always did make me laugh.  I found it on youtube.

  5. Finally a pure leadoff hitter.  The Astros haven't had one of those in a long time.  Bourn can fly and set the table for Pence, Berkman and Lee.  He is an ex-UH Cougar and he was pretty good in college ball as their everyday CF.  I really like this deal and think it has lots of upside to it.  I agree that the moving of Lidge was only a matter of time and this one should help the Astros line-up for the next 5 years.
