Longview had tons of penalties and really didn’t come alive till the second half. Their QB’s arm is suspect ,but with Superman at RB they may not need it much. McKinney was shut down the second half , but moved the ball when needed it for a game winning 27 yard field goal. Great win for them.

It’s good to hear that the O-line has some size! D-line and LB’s are solid and not too concerned about the secondary. We will know a lot more after this game, but if we can get the running game going that will open this offense up even more.

My expectation is that we will see a better week 1 BH team than last year. Abseck started his BH career with a good team, but took the reins mid summer. His first full year was a rebuild and now he has most of that team coming back. I think the only real question coming in the year was the O-Line. I think we will see the normal rust of a 1st game, but the passing game should get sharp quick. Hoping to see a better running game this year, but we will see.

My final preseason rankings 1.) Port Arthur- Kings until dethroned 2.) BH- I think they have a shot to dethrone 😃 3,) Porter- My dark horse. They return a ton and played all the top teams close. Sparky will be tough this year 4.) Crosby- if they stay healthy and buy into the new program. If so they place higher if not they fall. 5.) LaPorte- they will be in the hunt for a playoff spot, so don’t sleep 6.)Kingwood Park- Think they will struggle without that stud QB 7.) Baytown Lee- returning 9 on both sides of the ball. Baytown Champion 8.) Baytown Sterling- Baytown Runner Up 9.) GCM- still searching for a district win.

Just saying you seem to keep up with BH injuries. 🤔 or anything BH in a negative light.

Mag West took out BH last year at their house by a score of 28-10. That was BH 1st game in a rebuild year and the score didn’t reflect the game as I thought MW dominated most of the game. This year they come to BH returning 4 on O and 6 on D while BH come back with 7 on O and 6 on D. What I noticed last year was how much bigger MW was on the line of scrimmage which ultimately allowed them to control the game. This year should be a better showing from the Eagles and will be a good test for both teams. This game is a toss up for me, but I got BH by 7.

You seem happy about BH injuries. We will do what every team does and that’s next man up. What we won’t do is make excuses like you do for Crosby. All teams have injuries it’s an unfortunate part of the game hope these young men get well soon.

Last year they were loaded and this year they return 3. King will place 4th because there is nobody else in the district 😀maybe I shouldn’t say way down and just say the are in a rebuilding year. However as you stated they will plug the holes and by the end of the year should be clicking, but not game 1. Same for Crosby it will take some games to start being successful in the scheme. I don’t think this will be the massacre of 2022, but King should still win this by 3-4 scores.
