Does Lumberton need a coaching change? I think this is a fair question to ask. I have not been to any games this year ,but want some opinions on people who have. I know they struggled last year ,but atleast they were competitive. They are just getting blown out in every game this year. I know they have a lack of depth. What else is the problem?

Smashmouth astronaut/football lol comparing apples to oranges. Anyways maybe I shouldn't have posted this topic if everyone was going to be so sensitive. Therefore, it's my bad. No hard feelings smash mouth. And beechnut calling someone a loser because after they finished the football season there junior  year and then quit after the season because they wanted to concentrate on basketball for there senior year lol. Really? All i wanted to know was what the problem was. I did flat out ask if they needed a new head coach. However, Iwanted to know if the problem was the  talent, or you can through depth out there too.

Excuse me PN-G's coach Matt Bernatt won a share of the district championship with Lumberton, and Dayton in 07, made the playoffs. He came back in 08 and the team struggled not making the playoffs and was fired after that.

Smash mouth I don't know how more ignorant you could be. I saw them play against silsbee and I also have a cousin on the team. So has there been a lack of talent/depth the 2 years prior to this season also? I know the 07 playoff team that went 3 rounds had plenty of seniors on that team and the following year Lumberton still made the playoffs. They even had a new sophmore quarterback. All I'm saying is the raiders have been competitive ,but haven't been above .500 since 08. Does Lumberton need a new head coach? I know Lumberton had never been to the playoffs before Coach Credeur ,but since the 07/08 teams Lumberton seems to be going back to there old ways. Is it just a lack of talent or is it the coaching? The way they've been playing I'm not sure if they will win a game in this tough 20-4A district.

This is a good win for the raiders. Hopefully they can carry the momentum in district play. Who was the pg that came back? What happened?

I know the season hasn't begun yet but I was wanting to know people's prediction's on this game. I wanted to see it last year but it was cancelled because of hurricane ike. Not sure if I will be able to make the drive out to Katy for this one. However, I am anxious to see how West Brook will do against the defending state champs.

Nederland with revenge on their minds from last year. It's on the road for the raiders and I don't think beard is going to play he didn't play last night. So you have Jacob Hanna and Ryan Asher. Asher a good running back but he's not anthony beard. The passing game is Lumberton's offensive weakness. I say nederland by 14.

I heard beard is out with a torn MCL is that true?

True we didn't finish in the top 4 I played on the 2006-2007 team I believe we finished tied for 5th or something like that we beat in district LC-M twice,Nederland twice, and Vidor once ,but my point was it would have made it a little bit more exciting for us.

I really wouldn't like a playoff system in college for the most part it is fine. I really like watching all the bowl games and it gives the smaller college's athlete's a fun experience. The only reason they should have a playoff is maybe if the season ends up like last year. You have so many teams in the top 10 with 1-2 losse's. They should have all the the bowl game's but us the BCS bowls as a playoff system somehow. Last year LSU were national champs but I feel like a few other teams in the top 10 easily could have challenged Ohio State. In a year for example when USC and Texas played there wouldn't be a playoff because those were the only undefeated teams in the nation.

Lumberton doesn't have to do much now really to get into the playoffs. They're taking 4 teams this year is that right? If so they already beat livingston and would probably just have to beat vidor,lc-m, and then either ozen or central and they're in.

Man I wish they would have taken 4 teams to the playoffs win I played  ;D

tvc184 I couldn't agree more! Over half the player's on last year's team aren't on this year's team. So why even try to compare Dayton to Lumberton. I know Dayton was probably embarrassed of last year's game so they wanted revenge in a scrimage. I read earlier in some thread's that Dayton coache's were even scouting a Lumberton/Bridge City scrimage ??? Not taking anything away from Dayton they will be the better team than Lumberton "this" year. However, Lumberton won't have the success as last year's team I still see them being competitive throughout the season. And having a good shot at making it in one of those 1-4 spots.

Well another thing you have to look at is the quarterback which is usually the leader of the team. Bryce Dejohn was not a 1 not a 2 but a 3 year starter for the Lumberton Raiders. Who will be the starting qb this year?

Yeah the aggies can get it together the played very well over the season and can make a run hopefully the horns can make a run as well

I don't think the rockets will get out of the 1st round until they trade t-mac  ;D or until they don't play utah in the 1st round

5-2 today in Austin. They will play again on Saturday and Sunday in College Station. Best out of three to win the Lone Star Showdown.
