  1. Payne Barrow returns as well in the kicking game
  2. To be honest a few question marks going into 2019. Nederland is set in the backfield with McMorris at QB and Scott and Mazyck in the backfield. The question on offense will be who will the WR's be in 2019? I think the OL will be fine with Jonathan Nguyen being the top returner. On defense I cant wait for Ricky Johnson to start at DT he's a stud, Kerrington Broussard, Cedric Pete and Blaze Brown also return. A few holes to fill on defense so I expect a slow start on that side of the ball.
  3. I don't think outgrown is the right word for the high school overcrowded is a more accurate word.
  4. The High School was completed in 1971 it might be the newest school but it's in the worst shape out of the schools as a few people have mentioned and terribly designed. I invite you all to go visit Steven Nelson's Facebook page. He's been a teacher at the high school for close to 30 years and he has some good insight on the current condition of the school.
  5. That's possible
  6. Nederland Carsen Arline Concordia University Nebraska
  7. This is the same debate that happened over whether or not Kevin Barbay threw a forward pass or not in 2000 vs WOS. My opinion at the time was that it was a forward pass (later confirmed years later) but I also agreed with the WOS folks that said there was no guarantee Nederland would have got a Touchdown on that drive even if it was called an incomplete pass
  8. Coaching helps but it helps even better when you have players like Jonathan Gray and Jase McClellan playing for you
  9. That's one of the topics I wanted to cover along with Nederland's run from 1953-1957.
  10. Works for me I won't turn down anyone that wants to contribute just let me know what you would like to do.
  11. First off happy new year to everyone, I want to float an idea for a podcast at you guys and girls to see what your thoughts are. This is kind of an idea i've had for awile and I wasn't really sure if it was a good idea or not. The idea for the podcast is to examine some of the classic games in the history of Texas High School Football. Ill use an example from the past. 1999 Stephenville vs. PNG. the idea will be to examine both Stephenville and PNG's 1997 and 1998 seasons, covering the 1999 season for both teams in its entirety leading up to the Finals, examining the great players such as Kendall Briles, Dustin Long ect. and the aftermath of the game for both schools. Let me know what yall think.
  12. 6 points in the 2nd half for WB offensively didn't help Congrats on a good season WB

  14. Congrats to Newton on another state title Props to Canadian though they never quit and had a good game plan
  15. Correct but both teams were co-champions and it's also the last time a team from SETX was in the final in the highest classification
  16. No WOS was 4A when they won in 86 the last time was Beaumont French in 1984
  17. That's 1986 your thinking of and it was 24-0 Jefferson Cuero won the title the next year 14-6 over McGregor
  18. Don't count Allen out yet it's 35-28 now in the 3rd
  19. Make it 35-14 Duncanville
