  1. I just want to say that Melton looks like an excellent player.  The fact that he chose to go to Texas State over Division I schools is a matter of personal choice.  Too many kids get hung up on the biggest name school and don't stop to think what is the best situation for them.  Just look at all the kids who have gone off to big name programs only to return back home unsuccesful.
  2. Just would like to clarify a few things for you Dodie.  First, a receiver can only catch what is thrown to him.  Kelly has a new head coach and a new offensive coordinator.  They are running the ball.  Our QB is clearly struggling.  Second, Nick is playing both ways because he is one of the best athletes we have and the coaches want him out there.  Third, Nick currently has another division I offer and was still being recruited by two others prior to committing to North Texas.  I think it is great that you have a forum to be an avid fan for your team.  However, I don't think it serves any purpose to try and downgrade players on the opposing team.
  3. I'm definetly expecting a much lower scoring game than last year.  Look at the number of first downs and the number of passing yards compared to last year.  If you take away 5 or 6 long runs, you would see the real picture of what the offense has done this year.  Fortunately, we are playing much better defense this year after making a change at the coordinator position.  This is a pivotal game for Kelly.  If we don't get more people involved on offense and allow our quarterback to gain some confidence, it's going to be another long year when we get to district.
  4. The running game for Vidor is completly different than Kelly.  Barber has had alot of big plays in the first two games so the yardage looks similar.  The only way for Kelly to beat bridge city is to have a balanced, ball control offense.  Last year Kelly gave up 41 points to BC.  They will have to keep it in the low 20's this year if they want to win.  There won't be many games in Southeast Texas this year that feature better senior skill position players on both sides.
  5. If the question was who is going to put up the best stats this year at wide receiver then I would agree with Jayce Nelson because of the system that they run.  I'll go back to Jaevon Richardson and Nick Schrapps.  Both scout and rivals would agree.  I would also add Nate holmes.  This is not meant to take anything away from Jayce Nelson.
