  1. As for the game, I was there and the best team on that day won the game. There's no shame in that for Silsbee. Someone always has to lose. Playing in that game alone is an amazing accomplishment. I never saw Big Sandy leaving San Antonio without that trophy but I was wrong. You just never know and it's a testament to just how hard it is to win a championship. Both of those teams spent most or all the season ranked #1 but in the end came up short. They were both excellent teams and should be very proud of all they accomplished.
  2. I'm gonna have to get my health lined out and knock the rust of my game and see what exactly Lazeek's got in the bag!
  3. Thank you for the info. I'm very happy to hear that a full recovery is expected. This young man has a lot of talent and a bright future. Here's to a speedy recovery and life getting back to normal for him and his family.
  4. Thanks. Any other info would be greatly appreciated. My heart goes out to the Tigers who came up a little short tonight but congrats on a great season to a great team.
  5. As soon as there is any info available able this young man, will someone please post here. That's was a very unsettling situation and our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.
  6. This is such a disappointing reality. Any journalist worth his or her salt would see the clear value and dynamic in a story of this kind, if they did just 5 minutes of research. There are so many story lines that could be highlighted and what a great feel good story it would be. It really exposes everything wrong with large scale media today. Big Sandy would have a better shot at getting covered by the four letter network than they would by someone in their own backyard/Texas.
  7. Tenaha spent a ton of energy tonight trying to dispose of a pesky Kerens team. I can't see them having enough to take down the Wildcats. I thought we might be in for a tight one but after the taxing semifinal for Tenaha and the fact that Big Sandy has played better with each game they played thus far in the playoffs, I see Big Sandy victorious with a margin of victory in the 18 to 24 point range.
  8. Just went back and saw that. Disregard...my apologies. For the record, I was really hoping to see Central in San Antonio.
  9. Actually, no, Elkins lead by 6 after one, 9 at half, and 20 after third. If these posts are accurate, they won every quarter but the fourth. They competed in the first and second but won neither
  10. As much as I would love to be a homer here, I can't. Your assessment of Cleveland and there ability to shoot from the outside is not very accurate. They have no legitimate perimeter threat at all to be honest. It's there major weakness. If you keep them out of the lane, out of transition, and off the offensive glass they have nothing to go to and be successful.
  11. Hurry and sign your kids up now! The Big Sandy Wildcats are putting on a shooting clinic for free at the Bear Cave..Monday night only! Wow!!!!
  12. Yeah..I was on those teams. We had no answer for Earnest Jackson. That dude was a tough match up. What really hurt was getting bumped to 4A the year after winning the title. Probably would have hung another banner or two if that hadn't happened.
  13. I haven't. This is the worst Cleveland team in 10 years. It happens. I figured the #1 seed would come from either Coldspring, Huffman, or Liberty before district ever started. No surprises so far.
  14. What was Arnold's stat line for Kountze in this contest?
  15. First, this is the basketball thread on SETX. Second, Cleveland has won their district either 6 of the last 7 years or 7 of the last 8? And you guys better own Cleveland on Friday because they will be starting 3 freshmen, 1 junior, and 1 senior.
  16. If they can hold on to the #1 seed, I think they can make it out of the first round. If the #2 seed, it's a maybe. #3 or #4 and they're one and done. I will agree with Trojans2012 on one thing, after Cole the Trojan's have very little in the way of legitimate basketball talent on their roster.
  17. Never called you anything, much less racist. I said your comments were borderline. Trust me, I know it's sports talk and all in good fun, or at least it should be. And since you couldn't figure it out, I'll spell it out. I'm from Cleveland, and own Coldspring is exactly what we've done!
  18. Remember on thing...this was never about Trey Cole. This was about you, Trojan2012. You brought this on yourself.
  19. Not sure I can respect the racial implications of your comment but I'll assume it was unintentional. I will set the record straight however, I'm from a town 18 miles east of Coldspring down FM2025 that has owned the Trojans for the better part of a decade on the hardwood. Drop the mike...I'm done
  20. 5A-6A...yep, but that argument is irrelevant. Try this on for size. That little 2A team he's referencing already went and did the Trojans in their own house this year. You remember that don't you, Trojan2012??
