  1. Cleveland came out and handle their business tonight. Not a perfect game , but a good game. A win is a win in the playoffs. Loser goes home. I tip my hat to HJ. They played hard and with heart. You can't ask for much more. It is safe to say that the better team won. Indian's offense was in full stride and helped cover for the defense until they got going and in the 2nd half they got going for sure. Looks like a few questions might have been answered about the strength of our district with Huffman giving Silsbee all they wanted tonight. Cleveland is legit and I can't imagine the HJ faithful not saying the same about Cleveland. WARNING TO ROCKDALE: SNAP THE CHIN STRAP AND PACK A LUNCH, CAUSE IT'S GOING TO BE A WAR NEXT WEEK!! ROLL TRIBE ROLL!!
  2. I just think that it is actually a pretty bold statement to say Silsbee has no speed, we have athletes on both sides of the ball that would run curcles around Ctown. Read your own post before you before you ask someone else to try to understand them! ??? ??? No one said Silsbee has no speed. Just simply feel they would not have more than Cleveland. The point was to illustrate my observation of the Cleveland/HJ game, not to get your undies in a wad. Just to show there are no hard feeling I will give your beloved Silsbee a tip foe Huffman. This speed you talk of, your guys better use it, cause Huffman can ball in the trenches between the tackles. P.S. It is circles(curcles) by the way.
  3. I would like to see all the D-I champs play all the D-II champs as a high school superbowl.
  4. Everyone is so desperate to contradict. To say that Cleveland is one of the fastest teams in the playoffs would suggest that there is more than just one fast team. Try not to just read my posts, but actually understand them if you can.
  5. Had a quick stint out of town so missed some opportunities to trade the trash talk. Back now and ready to go. Can't wait for Friday night lights C-town vs H-J. I think I cleared the gray area on how this game goes before I left town. Little recap with small revise: H-J from what I hear improved some on the defensive side of the ball but I can't get to nervous because they gave up 40+ to WOS and Silsbee. WOS may have speed to match Ctown but Silsbee does not. Saw a comment doubting that Ctown could be faster than H-J. Not only faster than H-J, but quite possibly one of the fastest teams in the 3A playoff scene. H-J fans pointed to the five turnovers in game one; well it was four and Cleveland had two in the game. The starters for Cleveland left that game half way through the third quarter. Cleveland wins this game and I hope by a ton. Send a message and keep the mo going.
  6. I really can't believe some of the things I read on this site. Cleveland vs. HJ, in week one, was the worst games Cleveland has played all year. The final score: Cleveland 22 - HJ 0. The bad news for HJ is that the defense that did not allow them to score in week one is even better. Now for the really bad news, the offense that put 22 points on HJ in week one is now one of the best offenses in the state in 3A. Soooo... is Cleveland the only team that can improve? HJ has become a much better ball club. Keep that attitude. The problem with your theory is if you played your worst game week 1 as Cleveland did you still find yourself a 22 point dog. Unless by improve you mean, you closed the 22 point gap and remarkably overcame Cleveland's vast improvements with even more astonishing improvements than those. Sounds very unlikely. I have more bad news by the way. You know what happens to fast on turf ? It gets faster!
  7. Let me see if I have got this straight- We are not any better, we just scored more points that night????? You do understand that this was a football game and not a fashion show. I will break it down for you in the simplest of terms: Cleveland 42 = WINNER/BETTER Coldsprings 18 = LOSER/NOT BETTER
  8. Glad to know you have some knowledge in the art of Carthage football. I will give you a tip, the Carthage offense better bring their lunch pails if this match up takes place. I promise they have not seen a defense like Cleveland has all year. There will be no 2nd half's off in this game for anyone. If Carthage does indeed have a top ranked offense in the state it must be right next to Cleveland's. I have seen alot of Indian football over the years, but I have never seen eleven kids work as one like these do. Carthage - See Ya Soon!
  9. They play Harden Jefferson-1st rd. in Crosby.
  10. "I should have had Rifleman down the ball." Classic, I love that movie.
  11. I have to admit that I was disappointed with Scott's(#9-Csprings) lack of sportsmanship after the game. Losing hurts, but you have to be a winner in victory and defeat. Please remember we are talking about kids so lets not resort to name calling. Scott is a talent and I wish him and the Trojans all the best the rest of the season.
  12. I like the way you think. I am confident that Cleveland will prevail on Friday, but I would prefer for the players and the fans focus to remain on the game infront on them. Just beat who lines up infront of you and the rest will take care of itself. Like I said just stay healthy.
  13. I really can't believe some of the things I read on this site. Cleveland vs. HJ, in week one, was the worst games Cleveland has played all year. The final score: Cleveland 22 - HJ 0. The bad news for HJ is that the defense that did not allow them to score in week one is even better. 14. I am going to assume this statement is of a sarcastic nature. What do you think cause such mistakes? If those two teams play ten times Cleveland wins atleast eight of them. The only way you could think mistakes cost C-springs the game is if you were not there or you have no idea what you are talking about. C-town keeps winning and C-springs keeps winning and we will do it all again in about three weeks.
  15. There are alot of solid entries. Here are mine for what it is worth: 1. Remember the Titans 2. Rudy 3. Invincible 4. Friday Night Lights 5. Necessary Roughness
  16. My head tells me Coldsprings in a route. My gut feels like there is the potential for this to be a good game. Liberty may benefit from this game not mattering or that Coldsprings might be looking ahead to WOS in the first round of the playoffs. Liberty remains a mystery to me, this team has some talent and speed, but they play careless and a little lazy at times. Coldsprings-35 Liberty-12
  17. What wealth of knowledge do you make this prediction on? Please tell me it is because you have seen one or both of these teams play. I wonder what guarantees Carthage will make it to the 3rd rnd.
  18. The Indians should have very few problems in this game. The final score is not as important to me as staying healthy. I would like to see the few players struggling with nagging bumps and bruises get a rest. I want to keep the momentum going into the playoffs, but that should not be a problem as far as winning the game. Cleveland will be looking to revenge a loss that Splendora handed the Indians on homecoming night one year ago.
  19. Scott had his problems on both sides of the ball. He did impress me when they moved him to wide out and he caught a 35 yard TD pass. He spends to much time on the field and that is the coach's fault. Scott should not feel bad about becoming a non-factor in the game, because Cleveland's O and D have been making talented players not relevent all season.
  20. No Suprises. Most people choose to form opinions with narrow minded tunnel vision. Cleveland dominated the football game. Coldsprings is a good football team as expected. In the intrest of forum writers not making absolute fools of themselves, try actually seeing Cleveland play a football game before you decide to bless us with anymore bold predictions. That is a good tip for all the WOS faithful. Cleveland plays hard for four quarters and they can bring the hat on defense. Depth and defense is always a good formula for championships.
  21. Now we can stop all the, "they haven't played anyone, they are overrated, they are one dimensional" talk and settle on the fact that the Indians are good and they are the District 22-3A champs. This team is for real and I hope that the constant underestimation of this team by it's opponents continues all the way to a state title.
  22. I had seen both teams play prior to their meeting last night. Tarkington was better than I expected, but I did not expect much. Liberty seems to always have the ability to play under their level of talent. Having said that, I can't believe anyone thought Tarkington had a chance to win this game.
