  1. Actually lil bobby, slugfest is right. Warren picked up the game against Evadale because Evadale needed a game since a district game was postponed, and used the game as a refresher and work game to prepare for Buna. Next time you want to interlude, you may want to watch the game Warren/Buna played, before saying that Evadale is as good as Buna.
  2. love that the Vidor game is home, but going to hate that ride to Orange again :/
  3. I was at the game... and Warren had Kountze 2-0 through 6, stumbled a few times ine the top of the 7th, and let Kountze come all the way back and take the lead. It was a good job of Kountze to take advantage of mistakes by Warren, but Warren lost the game by beating themselves, not Kountze beating them. Warren had a chance to tie and possible take the lead in the bottom of the 7th, but couldn't come through, Kountze did a better job of shutting the door after they attained the lead. I'm not saying Warren is a huge threat out there, but if their team shows up ready to play, they'll surprise people. I was also at the Corrigan game.... don't know what happened to them in that game, but their outfield looked different.... anyone know what happened there?
  4. Raiders take this one and extend the streak over lil ned to 3...If we can avoid another washout in the weather this week, the field is dry on senior night in Lumberton and Air Raiders attack.
  5. Soulja, u have just solidified your place in the homer hall of fame...but its never been a secret
  6. Sure hope Coach Credeur doesnt forget to pack the stick em on the equipment trailor this afternoon
  7. I dont care for Vidor simply from a rivalry perspective, have lots of friends there, no disrespect....therefore i wont cheer for em lol but this is their year. Little Ned is weak this year and much like the Raiders of 07 and 08, little Ned stands in the way of destiny and will fall
  8. I have to go with the tribe in this one. They handled my Raiders as expected last week and they are playin one game at a time. Amazing how PNG has bounced back so quickly and things are going right over there. Cant hate em for that. One of the biggest HS teams I have ever seen and they blow people off the ball. Ozen didnt show much when we played them at the babe, they posses big play potentioal but now competency while 'driving' the ball
  9. I dont really know what to think anymore, I know I just hate it for the kids. I have enjoyed the heck out of the last few years and watchin the guys win and seeing the town rally around them. Me and my buddies got beat up and down the field for four years under Fuller and theres no worse feeling...this coaching staff is much more capable than those days and they will have our guys ready to go next year. This year is one of the smallest teams in stature and number that we have ever sent out of the tunnel. no excuses, and I think we finish out the year with wins against our next two opponants.
  10. Vidor faithful, enjoy your 15 mins of fame. This is your "stars align and everything goes right" season is now. very much like the 07 team from Lumberton that had its most upper-classmen ever on the field, had played from 7th-12th grade for nobody but Credeur, and it all clicked. you will lose the majority of your lettermen as the Raiders have already and you will be forced to reload. much like last years TX Tech team that beat my longhorns...they had a great year coming, its over and now they return to mediocrity.
  11. Only certain thing for Fri night is that i will need something to do at halftime ohther than watch the CHS band hump the hash marks at halftime. puke
  12. I graduated in 05, we played a lot of tough opponents, bounced around between 19 and 20 4a, and it was straight up rough. I love the face that we are on track now, support the current students 100 percent, and im enjoying what is now "raider nation" that being said, there is lots of buzz and excitement around town and sometimes it causes a lil too much emotion out of some fans. But back me up one this one Ltown faithful, its better than the somberness that has hung over our team for decades. good luck to all, lets play some ball!
  13. So tired of hearing about the Fuller era. There isnt a single coach or player that was here when he was. move on....
  14. Refs were not on our payroll, and if they were we got ripped off considering we had 100+ penalty yds. Parking is not bad at all, we and most other teams in the district just have great followings and it gets crowded. You have 2 entire campuses, walmart, and 2 shoppping centers to park at when you come to lumberton. As for the game, it was sloppy. I was wondering what all they hype was about all first half, and everyone around me was thinking the pirates are soft. Mistakes on both sides, lacluster offenses on both sides, but the pirates found a way to win, and thats all she wrote. It's over and we have other opponents to face, moving on.......
  15. Passing is no downfall soulja, we have moved the ball well and struck through the air often this year. I played reciever for Fuller and the scheme was hopeless, it was 5 wide every play, chunk and pray. Credeur's offensive scheme is much better and much more advanced. As for the game this Friday night, we will have plenty to prove. I know the guys have moved on, I spoke to some of them right after the Vidor game and they werent upset at the loss, we know we will bounce back. Most of the agony was over the fact that we lost our HC game. I hope Central's O had gotten more complicated, bc i remt he last 2 years we have faced them, a very simple set of plays that rotated throughout the game. I dont even remember a wideout being on the field, just a very sloppy split veer, sometimes misdirection run offense. We'll see though. I have no idea what to expect, nobody expected a 3-0 halftime score this past Friday. mistakes have to be fixed
  16. I work at the HS and are a friend of the Beard family. He's playin. End of story
  17. ur right. He's our only good player....crap! were screwed
  18. Sorry, but the retards clownin on Anthony Beard have clearly never been hit by him or seen him play. But you know, you super educated Vidor folk are probably right. The abundance of college scouts watching him play every week are terribly wrong, maybe you guys should apply for their positions. Do some homework and look his stats up previous to his SR YR, he played tailback and scored just as much as any back you have.
  19. there are so many factors leading into this game that make it incredibly exciting. I personally cant wait, im anxious for Friday night guys...Im a Lumb grad and have played opposite of Vidor on the gridiron and we have had some battles. Nothing has changed, it will be intense. See you Friday.
  20. I dont care to make a prediction on score, but I believe both teams will score at will. This game will be decided by intangibles like kick and punt returns, turnovers, etc...Kyler Keith ran back a punt and an end around at Livingston...Pace ran down their fastest back from behind...the arguement that Lumberton has no playmakers or athletes is completely false. But thats why they play it. Its only a matter of time before AB tees off on one of Vidors backs tryin to run up the middle.
  21. I havnt read the first 7 or 8 pages of this thread, but let me throw in my 2 cents in anyway. I went to HS w/ both of his kids, know the whole family.....He is NOT goin to leave cozy little Lumberton where he is loved, to a town like LaMarque where near perfection would be expected. This is NUTS! Just contrast the 2 cities....total 180. crazy
  22. Im fully aware of Fuller's shortcomings "bud" I played for him for 4 years
  23. Ive been reading various comments reffering to "Lumberton not being the doormat of the district" "It takes more than two years to know if your good or not" etc...Lumberton has been overall, pretty bad, but if you were to do a lil research, or just ask our coaching staff, you would find a winning record about 5 years in a row in the late 90's. Lumberton went 8-2 twice when only one team was taken to the playoffs. This was during Jaspers hayday. We had winning records in 02-04, just never made playoffs. What im saying is that our sucess has came and gone over the years, we were never great but were not a doormat by any means
  24. Id take stallworth Stadium in Baytown. Our boys have some good memories there
